I guess the usury laws might go next. After all, if credit card companies could charge the working class 35% interest, they'd have more money to give low interest rates to their preferred billionaire customers.

I wonder how many voters voted thinking they'd be "protected" from harm by the sensible compassionate laws and policies of Obama and Biden? They sure made a big mistake.

Pure capitalism is what gave rise to revolutions. Labor unions.
Worst of all, it lowered prosperity--even for the heartless billionaires who owned the factories.
Henry Ford figured it out, realizing he couldn't sell many cars unless workers earned enough to buy them.

The democrats made the mistake in picking a candidate who couldn't manage a second term, who in turn stuck us with a candidate absolutely nobody wanted during the primaries.

So you're blaming this for Trump et al removing consumer protections?

I'm blaming the Democrats abysmally poor decision making in choosing Biden, and Biden choosing Harris, leading to Trump being in office. They should have picked a candidate who could have withstood a second term in office, and Biden should have picked a VP who didn't completely tank in the primaries as his last minute replacement. As a matter of fact they all decided to run with Harris, even though it was clear from her having tanked in the primaries, no one would have normally chosen her as president. The Democrats couldn't have done a worse job in running against Trump, which is why Trump is in office.

So you are blaming them for Trump winning thus leading to the loss of consumer protections.
Should Americans who have taken large hits on their 401ks also blame Democrats?

Yes, I am saying the Democrats abysmally poor decision in choosing Biden and then Harris to run against Trump, is to blame for Trump now being in office doing what he's doling.

Wow. There it is.

Sounds like Trump didn't have a snowballs chance of winning without the Democrats.

Another bit of proof that Trump is still a Democrat in my opinion.

Big banks rejoice!

You know how you can avoid ALL overdraft fees, regardless of how much they are? Don't overdraft your account.

Please walk a mile in their shoes before deciding it's fine for banks to exploit them.

I've bounced a check or two in my day, and I can tell you with 100% certainty, it wasn't because the bank was "exploiting" me.

I've been too poor to even have a checking account. And when I did, I didn't write checks for more than I had money to cover. (Full disclosure, I have bounced checks, but it was due to bad record keeping.)
Another point, recently my wife received a check from someone who didn't have the funds. What a fiasco. Not only didn't we get the cash, we were charged because the check didn't clear. Bouncing checks, is not a harmless thing to do. Now I don't think the fee should be outlandish, but it should be enough to discourage that behavior.

If the bank charges far more than their processing costs it's exploitation.
When I was a young mom I had a one-day a week job organizing the books of a commercial real estate investor who disliked the tedium of doing his paperwork. I couldn't count the number of bounced checks he got written off because of carelessness. I got things running smoothly in six hours a week, and although I had a generous salary I saved him a whole lot more.

Hang on...are you saying that if Trump does something good for the less well off then he should get the credit. But (and I'm sure I've got this right because you've said it twice) if he does something that harms the less well off, then it's the Democrat's fault?

Your husband beats you? Well, if Dave - the guy you were going with last year, wasn't such a loser then you wouldn't have married your husband instead. So it's obviously Dave's fault that you get punched out now and then.

I'm just going to lie to down for a little while in a darkened room until the dizziness goes away. I'll be back later.

I'm a little confused. You mean Trump did something to help the less well off? I didn't think he'd done that since his 2020 Tulsa campaign rally when cryptic Craigslist ads offered people of color $20 and a t shirt to come to the rally.

In the mind of some conservatives, all cruelty against people that are not like them is directly helping those conservatives.
