Is there a Christian Passover?

Another question is who is a Christian, one who keeps the commandments of God and has the faith of Jesus, or one who abrogates the commandments of God?

As an anti-type, Jesus was the Passover lamb, yet God passing over and bringing us out of Babylon, and Egypt is still future.

Jesus said, “Eat the unleavened bread and drink the blood of the grape, in memory of me as the Passover lamb.” Eating the unleavened bread and drinking the blood of the grape was already a function of the Passover feast, what is new is recognising and remembering Jesus as the Passover lamb. The Passover involves three days of eating unleavened bread, so I wonder, was Jesus's three days and three nights in the grave encrypted into the Passover feast all along.

The Eucharist is a place where the Catholic Bible is different to the Protestant Bible, I don't recall what the difference is, but I have had a Catholic Bible and in the past I knew. Every Mass, the Catholic Church eats the biscuits and drinks the wine but does this have any thing to do with the Passover, what is their purpose for the Eucharist, what do they remember, is it the memory of God passing over, is it the memory of the crucifixion (from a Roman perspective). Protestants do the Lord's super, but do they do it on the 14th day of Nisan or eater Sunday, and what is it they remember? Protestants have been burned at the stake (metaphorically) over whether the14 day of Nisan or Easter Sunday.

Some relevant scriptures:

Matt 26:28, 2, 17,18,19.

Mk 14:1, 12-16.

Lk 2:41, 22:1, 7, 8, 11-15.

Jn 2:13, 2:23, 6:4, 11:55, 12:1, 13:1, 18:28,39, 19:14.

For me personally I don't celebrate Easter Sunday. We know Easter is a bad translation of Pascha/Passover. I take the Lord's Supper/Communion which as Paul states declares the Lord's Death. until he returns. And we know he became our Passover. But I do think one can take communion at other times as well.

At a quick glance the Lord's Supper/Communion has nothing to do with the Passover, which leads me to wonder what the function of the Lord's Supper/Communion is; it seems to be a substitute for the Passover in the same manner that Sunday is a substitute for the seventh day Sabbath.

According to the bible, Jesus Christ Himself is the Christian's Passover:

“Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.” (1Co 5:7 NKJV)

It was He to Whom the Old Testament Passover pointed.

At a quick glance the Lord's Supper/Communion has nothing to do with the Passover,
I think of it in the same way that they partook of the Passover meal. We today instead realize that Christ became our Passover and therefore partake of the communion in his name. Him being symbolically that Passover meal. Which he himself put into place.
which leads me to wonder what the function of the Lord's Supper/Communion
For remembrance of what Christ did on the cross. And I believe the Lord put it into place and Paul follows up with another witness to the fact.

Luke 22:19 "And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me."

I Corinthians 11:26 "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till He come.""

it seems to be a substitute for the Passover
In some cases I don't believe so. I'm not a church goer anymore so it's more on a personal level for me- since I know he became our Passover and strictly do it in remembrance of Christ and declaring his death as Paul states as well. I personally believe that doing that is more in line biblically and therefore has more meaning vs observing Easter Sunday which has no biblical place in the scriptures. Although I do know that other Christians see it differently regarding Easter Sunday, etc.

As for the rituals of the old Passover verses the new as other's have posted- today it's more about these verses -

I Corinthians 5:7 "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened, For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:"
I Corinthians 5:8 "Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."

What are your beliefs on this matter?

The Last Supper is actually a betrothal/contract/brit. It alludes to the Jewish wedding with its culmination at the marriage supper of the lamb. The 1st day (Sunday) is not the 7th day (Sabbath).

Jesus is the Passover, but he is not the Passover feast, Jesus is not the memorizing function he has asked us to engage in (do this in remembrance of me).

The Christian Passover is not Christ passing over but the celebration and remembrance of him passing over; but is this celebration instead of what God previously instructed or is it in addition to what God has previously instructed?

Christ passing over is a 2300-year event, his first coming, his second coming, and everything in between. His passing over will include the resurrection of the righteous and blood to the belly of horses.

I agree with what you say, except, the contract is called the covenant.

I used the example of confusion between the first day of the week and the seventh day of the week, where most follow the Rome, beast and its image and keep Pagan Sunday, whereas a few follow the God of Israel and keep Saturday; so, I used that example as a simile to how a few follow the instruction of God, most follow the teaching of men regarding the Passover.

There is thing I came across, Polycarp, a disciple of the apostle John, in his old age, kept the Lord's supper on the 14th day of Nisan regardless of what day of the week it was instead of Sunday. He had trouble with the Roman authorities, I believe he was Dis communicated. from the Church.

I believe there is a binary decision one has to make, to follow God or follow men; men will tell you righteousness is what is important, God will tell you righteousness is obedience and faithfulness and if you follow men your obedience and faithfulness is to men and not God.

Brit in Hebrew is "covenant". There is no confusion, Sunday is Sunday and the Sabbath day is the Sabbath day. Sunday is the day of resurrection, the 1st and 8th day. Polycarp was an Eastern Bishop.

Paul wasn't telling His Gentile Christian readers to keep the Jewish Passover. If he had been saying that, he wouldn't have added: "not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth."

He said we are to KEEP THE FEAST. Pascha. Leavened bread is not used during Passover.

The word Pascha is not used in that verse. I know that leavened bread is not used during Passover, but Paul makes clear that he isn't talking about literal bread, leavened or unleavened, because he writes "the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." If we read the verse in its context, Paul has just referred to those who were committing sexual immorality by saying that "a little leaven leavens the whole lump."

He IS speaking of it so Pascha is implied. I never said leavened bread was used. Leaven represents sin. 1 Corinthians 5:7 does use "pascha"...

Which is exactly the reason I haven't been in a church building for over 20 years.

Another question, do you yourself observe Easter Sunday?

There is nothing about Easter I observe, my observation of the Passover is in mind only. I do feast on Christmas day which I probably should stop doing.
