• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sorry you feel this way; it seems you are taking credit for your own holiness and missing who actually justified you and who sanctified you. We are all sinners, we are only saints because of Jesus Christ. As Luther stated it: “Simul justus et peccator”; saint and sinner at the same time.
Apparently I must be a sinner and engage in divisions so I'm not too holy. I'm a loner. People have always rejected me and my beliefs. It's not my fault I walk alone.that's holiness. I feel like the saint who walks alone that A.W. Tozer talked about. Some people no doubt find me disssagreeable. What fellowship is possible then?

I find Lutheran monergism to be distinct from Calvinist monergism
I am not sure I agree with this. Rather than "distinct" they are too "similar" to make a distinction....if that is even possible.

Yes, the separation from sinners; you shun them.
As we are taught to. God said to come out from among them and to be separate. I shun their ungodly politics, speech, entertainment, dress, divisions, and their counsel.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Jesus said to the Father in prayer, "I am not asking you to take them out of the world ... As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world." Thus we understand that our mission is to draw worldly ones to Christ and teach them what he teaches us.

You cant teach them if you act like them. Peter said a shepherd doesn't Lord over others but he leads by example.
