Can a Anabaptist become a police officer or join the military and be respected by Anabaptists?

I don't know if it's just Amish, but I'm not hearing anyone wanting it's members to join the military or police.

Are these forbidden professions in this denomination? I know Anabaptist can vary in their beliefs.

I was in the Army Reserve in the Sixties. I knew a Mennonite who was in that unit. He said his brother was in the Active Army as a Medic. Apparently his community accepted both of them. He is still in that community.

There are likely many jobs a Godly man cannot look into. But if they are in a group that does not care, then who cares ?!
