  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Christians Receive the Spirit of Adoption

Rom 8:14-16 For as many (Christians John 3:3-8 1Pet 1:23) as are led by the Spirit (John 14:26) of God (John 4:24 2Cor 3:17), they (Christians) are \the sons of God. Rom 8:15 For you have not received the spirit of bondage (2Tim 1:7) again to fear; but you (Christians) have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we (Christians) cry, Abba, Father.

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself bears witness (Eph 1:11-14) with our (Christians) spirit, that we are (Eph 4:40 2Cor 1:20-22) the children of God:

We are Waiting for the Adoption

Rom 8:23 And not only they (whole creation), but ourselves (Christians) also, which have (Eph 1:13-14) the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves (2Cor 5:5-8) groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption (1Cor 15:50-53 1Thess 4:13-17) of our body.

The Israelis

Rom 9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertains the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

Christians Receive the Adoption

Gal 4:3-7 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements (Col 2:8-10) of the world: Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman (Isa 7:14 Matt 1:18), made under the law (Gal 1:13-16 Gal 3:24-25), Gal 4:5 To redeem them (Christians) that were under the law (Col 2:14 Rom 10:4), that we (Christians) might receive the adoption (John 1:12-14 1Pet 1:23) of sons. Gal 4:6 And because you (Christians) are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your (Rom 5:5 Eph 4:30) hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Gal 4:7 Wherefore you (Christians) are no more a servant, but a son (Rom 8:14-17); and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Predestination Adoption of Christians

Eph 1:4-7 According as he (God) has chosen (1Pet 1:2 2Thess 2:13) us (Christians) in him (Jesus) before the \foundation (Rom 8:27-30) of the world, that we (Christians) should be holy and without blame (Phil 2:15 Phil 3:6) before him (God) in love: Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us (1Cor 1:21-24) unto the adoption of children (John 3:3-8 1Pet 1:23) by Jesus Christ to himself (God), according to the good pleasure of his (God) will, Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his (God) grace, wherein he (God) has made us (Christians) accepted in the beloved (Jesus Rev 1:13-17). Eph 1:7 In whom (Jesus) we (Christians) have redemption (Gal 3:13 1Pet 1:18-21) through his (Jesus) blood (Eph 1:7 Col 1:14 Heb 9:11-12), the forgiveness of sins, according (Rom 3:21-26) to the riches of his grace (Rom 10:9-10 Eph 2:8-10);

God adopts his children according to His good pleasure the result of that action makes us His children ( as opposed to the children of the devil JN8).

By definition the adopted ones are called Christians to reflect the the result of Gods action in adopting them as His own.

who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

In Him,

Bill
