Politico's post-debate analysis says that Vance's beard is representative of aggression

One of the first bits of nonverbal communication to appear in the debate was on JD Vance’s face: his beard. As POLITICO Magazine has noted before, Vance is the first White House wannabe to wear facial hair in 80 years. Our appearance is fundamental to our body language, and research indicates that voters see beards as (surprise, surprise) more masculine. That can be positive to some, reading as strength and competence. But to others, especially women, it can be negative, conveying aggression and opposition to feminist ideals.
I'm sure this analysis will play well to the countless men who have beards by telling them that simply having facial hair means they are aggressive toward all womenkind.

Silly women. Thinking that men are more dangerous to them than women and that typical male physical markers may exacerbate that response.

Surely you're not suggesting that all men with beards are aggressors, are you?

I think the bigger non-verbal communication I get from him is that he is super creepy. He gives the vibe of a garage day trader who slides up to you at a bar to talk about his sick Camaro while you smile blankly and subtly cover your drink.

I am not a Trump or Vance supporter, in fact, I do not like them that much (nor do I like Kamala either, cos 3rd party is better), but this was the worst analysis ever by Politico. Dang, the author of the Politico junk-science article, Joe Navarro is installed into my AI, in the psychology section of the machine's files. I am now tempted to delete his book that I ripped off the internet into my AI, but that might mess up the AI's systems.

This left-field stuff is getting out of hand, which is one of the reasons I am voting 3rd party for the first time this year. There is absolutely no logic in saying that "beards are aggressive". Joe Navarro needs psych help himself.

How the heck can beards be a symbol of aggression? On what planet is a beard a symbol of aggression? Certainly not Earth, and not even any alien sci-fi planet civilizations in Star Trek or my sci-fi plots think this. My former job coach has a beard, and he is the sweetest guy ever, and is more liberal than a moderate such as myself. He has a wife from India. :)

Artificial intelligence file directory for psychology stuff.

yeah, I agree but how often does this come up? Just about every canidate gets attacked for something, trumps been attacking harris over her laugh for a while. Not a defense, but while it's dumb to attack Vance, I think it's pretty much an american tradition to attack for dumb things.a

I have had a beard for over half my life. My family and friends would laugh out loud if you suggested that I was aggressive. What a joke. They are playing to their narrative and to those who want to hear such malarkey. Ya'll need some new material. This stuff is not only getting old but is working against your desired goal of ???

He is young and politically inexperienced, so he wants to appear more mature.
His behavior was very civil and respectful of the debate process--not aggressive at all.
I sensed he was trying to tone down his extremism and reach out to moderates and rehabilitate his image.

Yeah, it does seem like a tradition of 2020s America is to grasp at straws, or should I say, grasp at hairs on one's chin. :) Both sides attack each other. The only sides that do not attack each other as much are moderates, moderate conservatives and moderate liberals.

Some other beard conspiracy theories.
1 His wife likes the beard, and he wants to make her happy. Gasp.
2 He is lazy and does not want to shave. (That is my excuse)
3 His skin is sensitive, and he breaks out in a rash if he shaves.
4 He thinks he looks handsome with a beard. Or, like me, he has a double chin, which the beard hides.
5 Growing a beard is a very natural thing; he is a natural kind of guy.
6 The beard gives him Samson-like superpowers, especially during debates.
7 Crumbs get caught in the beard which he likes to save to snack on later.
8 He is actually a woman and is shooting for a job at the circus as the bearded lady.
9 It makes him look like Paul Bunyan, and he is actively looking for a giant blue Ox named "babe."
10 He loves to watch political pundits make up wild conspiracy theories about everything and nothing.- Most likely theory.

Women love men with facial hair. If its groomed.

My wife was not impressed with Vance's eyeliner. I did not notice, but I'll defer to a woman on this point : )

This was a desperate attempt at deflecting from the fact that Vance did excellent in this debate while Walz did not. This was a clear win for Vance and Walz looked confused and nervous often. Once again a total failure of objectivity on the moderators and Vance was ready for it. A clear win for Vance.

Whether or not it will translate to anything remains to be seen. But I will say a lot of us watched this and wished Trump was more like Vance.

They have used his own words against him,not a false narrative.
