Shouldn't all Evangelicals want Christian Nationalism?

You haven't established this.

I have definitely established my annoyance with you. If Christian Nationalism ever becomes debatable, then I have already left the room. One of these days you and I will have a conversation without me getting bored. Until then, I hope all things go well with you, and God's speed.

I feel like you would like this song, but maybe it's not monarchical enough. pfft.

If you are annoyed at me, you must be even more at the entirety of Christian history which did not have your conception of surrendering all power to non Christians. Why do you think that is?

I do not think I will impose anything on the USA. Rather what the discussion is about is what Evangelicals or Christians more broadly should prefer.

You know that wasn't directed to you personally. Don't be petty.

It's another round of what-if centered in fear and dystopian fantasy. The oppressed becomes the oppressor and related silliness. Notice they were mum on marriage. Given the conditions how do you think they'd handle that in their society? Here comes Gilead. ;-)

In a Christian political community, why can't said community punish blasphemy? Is freedom to blaspheme a Christian value?

Freedom to blaspheme is regarded as a sacred American liberty. This is one source of the tension between the Christian God and the false god of liberty.

Christian Nationalism is by definition the submission of the country to Jesus.

What does that mean?

What is a country, and how does a country submit to Jesus?

The same way it makes a Declaration of Independence. Instead the nation would be founded on a declaration of submission to King Jesus.

Would that make everyone who lives in the country a Christian?

Strength is Christ allowing the forces of evil to do their best, and then popping up from death as if it doesn't matter. And, it doesn't matter

If your fear is death, then you don't know Christ as well as you think you do.

Do you fear losing a secular liberal democracy?

So you would advocate surrendering to the Nazis during WW2 right? Or surrendering to the Soviet Union during WW1 right? Evil must be allowed to triumph right?

You nailed it.

The modern evangelical is "above politics" until the postwar liberal consensus is questioned, and then you find he is ready to start dropping bombs in a holy crusade of good vs. evil.

I'm curious, do you have laws like this in New Zealand?

I think it's unlikely they've shared their ideas beyond this space. This is pretty radical even for liberals in the fold. It sounds eerily similar to muslim societies. But they don't have the diversity we do.

No. Every time the Church has gotten in bed with the state it's been disaster.
And we have separation of Church and State, read the First Amendment.
Jesus said my Kingdom is not of this world. Yes, Christians should vote, hold office advocate for just policies and have
a place at the table.
See: the political seduction of the Church by Michael Brown.

How about imposing severe penalties for blasphemy against your Lord and God?
Uh, that's what happens in theocracies where Islam is the dominant religion. We are not a theocracy.
