  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lol...Blame? What are you talking about "blame"?

The "us vs them" thing. The crazy rhetoric that says that "our ingroup" is right about everything. That is the view you are purporting.

I'm not "blaming" people for stating an opinion and creating illogical rationals for them to do so.

Don't talk to me about evidence. You only like evidence that favors your position.

One of my favourite things is when conspiracy theorists keep repeating how they are the "realists" and how I'm the deceived one because I just disagree with them.

Yes. The people whose employment do NOT depend on TRump all think he's a fetid mess.

It's REpublicans in the house...they know. Outside of "barrrrrrg! immigrants! Baarg Trannies!" they have no meaningful policy positions nor any plans to deal with anything affecting Americans. They haven't helped any average American do anything so when these elected Republicans go back home they have nothing to sell. I mean, as Democrats have put things forward they feel a kneejerk reaction to oppose it instead of considering whether it helps Americans. All these senators and the like have is "well, Trump is great!". All they can do is hope Trump's personality will be enough to convince people to vote for them.

And for those people who vote for a personality and those 2 important issues are going to be happy is a pig in poops.

Yes. That is correct.

You have no basis for your opinions and dismissal of those people's opinion but you seem VERY confident to know EXACTLY what's up.

I'm confident the system is corrupt. That's my position. That is what I have been saying since the beginning of the thread. I am not a Trump supporter. I have never voted for Trump. Neither have I voted for the Democrats. They are all corrupt.

What are you talking about "completely innocent"? In the context of this conversation (republicans see him as someone who should NOT be president) no one is being accused of anything.

Lol...Blame? What are you talking about "blame"?

These are people saying Trump is a crap leader and shouldn't be a leader. Many of these people have 0 direct connection to Trump but it doesn't matter because many people who HAVE worked directly with him would say the same thing. It's only people who don't HAVE TO rely on the public to get votes to remain employed; THOSE are the people who are willing to be critical of Trump within his party.

The fact that many of these people belong to the same party he is representing. THAT doesn't happen. Like....EVER. When else has that happenned in American history? You may not live in fantasy land but to think that what is happenning is excusable or normal or somehow a pointless damp squib, suggest you're not quite a realist.
The Republicans who don't want Donald Trump to be president again DO NOT represent the 75 million Americans who voted for Trump in 2020.
99.9% of American, who will be voting for Trump in 2024, really do NOT care what the swampy Republicans, retired generals, and the so-called "security experts" are saying about Donald Trump.

Obviously.
But that doesn't speak to his capacity to do the job with the gravitas and consideration it deserves.

Why does it appear to be difficult for some Americans to understand the very real and very positive gains and deals that the Trump administration had on foreign policy and also national security topics from 2017 through 2020?

Trump fired them and now they want revenge. Just like Trump wants revenge for bizarre charges against him.

When you realize that politics is about a feedback loop of revenge, things make a lot more sense.

I do not care what those so-called experts and retired generals say about Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. I was deployed twice to Iraq, and I am still serving in the National Guard. I have 27 years of service in the Army and the Army National Guard. I learned a long time ago that many of the high ranking generals and national security experts cannot be trusted.

Do you have a list of the names and accomplishments of these 740 people? Should I trust them just because they are believed to be "experts"? In my opinion, those 740 people are forgetting the facts that we had NO NEW WARS with Trump the first time. Can the same thing be said of previous presidential administrations within the last 25 years?
So, I say again, this here veteran of 27 years of combined active duty Army and also Army National Guard does not trust those retired generals and so-called "national security experts."

The beuracracy has spoken.

In true MAGA fashion, experience and expertise is dismissed out of hand. Let's go with Trump's gut instinct on foreign policy instead. {ask the Kurds how well that worked out }

Besides abandoning the Kurds in Syria, Iraq, and Turkey ( I disagreed with Trump's decision to do so ) please give me specific foreign policy actions of the Trump administration between 2017 and 2020 with which you disagree and why.
Thank you.

Just calling a spade a spade. I am sure you think all these people speaking against Trump are completely innocent because you are deceived.
Yes, the “deceived” are always that last to know.

I think the blame falls on both sides because I am a realist and don't live in fantasy land.
And sweet irony.

Same sort of thing has happened before. That is what I was drawing on. It's possible that most people here never worked with Trump.
Some internet randos got together and denounced Trump?
We keep records of who works where for quite a while now.

Even if that is the case, it does not mean they are not motivated by revenge in another way.
Maybe it’s not “revenge “ but ‘believe me, the chaos was real, and Trump in no way deserves another crack at the levers of power!”?
