  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Furries claim it's not a fetish, it's just people who really like animals. I think it's quite odd.
I disagree. It’s very sexualized. It is a fetish imo and everything they do points to that. I love animals but I don’t want to dress up as one and go to conventions to rub all over other furries. I would not leave my dog in a room alone with one of those people.

The article states she is in a year 8 class. So I am guessing 12 or 13 years old. I was imagining a younger child. So yes, it’s time to consult a professional.
I'm sure younger kids are on the way to it if they're not there already.

Here's one. It's unknown if it's legit or just a joke. But it could very well be real.

Progression into insanity. Good grief.

My cousin's daughter (6th-7th grade or so) has a friend who believes that they're some kind of animal. She says that she doesn't like hanging out with her for too long because inevitably she will do something "weird" related to it. I believe her! No surprises for guessing there is other stuff going on here (other psychological problems). Poor kids.
Yes, mental health issues ... and demonic influence.

A school pupil has been allowed to self-identify as a wolf by her teacher after claiming she had an "animal persona" and belonged to a different species.

The youngster is believed to be suffering from "species dysphoria" - a condition where a person feels trapped in a body belonging to the wrong species.

Similar in principle to gender dysphoria - a condition where a person believes their body to be that of the wrong gender - the secondary school pupil has received support and "counselling" from teachers and a "wellbeing worker" over the decision.

The case, cited in official documents held by the council, is thought to be the first case of its kind in Scotland.

The local authority said the pupil was part of a wider group who referred to themselves as "furries" and identified themselves as having an "animal persona".

However, clinical neuropsychologist Dr Tommy MacKay told the Mail Online: "There is no such condition in science as 'species dysphoria'".

Continued below.
Identifying as something is that you believe you're that thing, even if you're actually not.

It's self deception ... an escape from reality.

Escapism is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as “habitual diversion of the mind to purely imaginative activity or entertainment as an escape from reality or routine.”

The problem is, the shrink might encourage it.
