I am curious what the accident rate is among Haitian immigrants vs the other drivers in Springfield. Are accidents involving Haitian drivers given more attention?

There are rumors that these immigrants are given permits without any testing requirements. This article states that is not true.

According to the Springfield citizens I've listed to it is true. And I'm going to believe them over media that will protect against anything that could reflect poorly on Harris and back up Trump. As for where else it might be happening, how many other towns with a population of 60k have 20k refugees?

The city can certainly address it. After all, if driving test are in fact, not required, I'm sure there is poor driving by citizens as well (and fatalities).
No it's just not required for the refugees.

If someone is suspected of being here illegaally and is stopped legally in any way whatsoever they have to prove that they are here legally if they cannot they enter the process to be deported.

That's a bit different, and quite a bit closer to what actually happens, but still adjudicating the legality of people being here is a matter for the courts and people should be afforded due process.

The source is local news station quoting the registrar for the Ohio BMV on requirements for drivers in the state. Why do just assume their reporting is politically biased? And to instead just take locals stories as true without hesitation.

Look, the citizens of Springfield have some very valid concerns given the volume of immigrants that are living in their community. And the local, state and even federal government should assist the city in dealing with the strain on resources. However, nothing will be solved by demonizing Haitian immigrants.

If you are here illegally though that alone should be enough to get you deported.

That is EXACTLY what Trump is talking about.

All the pearl clutching is from twisting that to say he is wanting to deport innocent people who are here legally.

Which isn’t true.

Someone should fact check them.

That is why I said if they could not prove it I am not suggesting they do not deserve due process.

and if that bad driving and/or fatal accidents happen and it is serious enough for the person to be charged which unless it is a PURE accident that is no one's fault usually charges can and are filed.

Calling people racists for wanting their government to use their tax dollars to improve city services for the citizens paying taxes is just another way to say nothing to see here.

Except, this one won't go away, and will get worse if not addressed adequately.

This government is doing real harm to both the citizens and to the immigrants too. Did anyone think putting a bunch of people in failing small town America in order to pit citizens against migrants over limited resources was a good idea?

The government used to do studies in order to place groups of less than 1,000 to be sure an area could support all the needs of the people being placed, before placing them.

Now migrants are being dumped into communities in the 10's of thousands and residents are called racists if they dare complain. It's bad policy.

If your position is "I'd like immigration laws to be enforced in the usual manner of any criminal activity" then we would be in agreement.

How would the Springfield residents know how other people are obtaining their driving permits? Do you know how all of your neighbors got theirs?

Trump is threatening to deport Haitians that are in the country legally

Either that or I would humbly ask you to recant the statement to maintain intellectual honesty

The Haitian community was not dumped into Springfield. They have moved there on their own over time. They have jobs and pay taxes.

“The immigrants’ arrival brought an economic revival to the city, which was once a manufacturing hub but started to crumble once factories shuttered in the last decades.

The city shrank from a population of 80,000 to 60,000 by 2014. That number has since grown due to the increase in Haitian immigrants, reported The New York Times.”

Sorry but he is one record lying about the immigration status of Haitians and stating he will send them back to Venezuela.

I don't read peoples names, I just read the posts if I'm reading a thread (which is rare for me in the first place)

You are free to peruse the thread at your leisure if you care about who said what.

They didnt revive anything. They took low paying jobs from poor citizens, endangered people's lives, and drove all costs up.. But hey, the Democrats found their new slaves. Who needs citizens when you can have slaves. (White people bad, black Americans indicated they wanted off the plantation...)

NGO's are the only ones making money and the rest of us get to watch as they turn our once great nation into something that crawled out of the bottomless pit.
