  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As some of you may be aware, Springfield, Ohio has been in the news this week.

It appears there are ongoing issues there, involving the Springfield community and a large number of immigrants from Haiti (15K-20K) that have relocated into Springfield during the past 3 years.

The situation in Springfield appears to be 'heating up'. There were several bomb threats there, this morning:

Please pray for peace in Springfield.

Who is bombing who?
There's very little news reporting coming out on this, at least as of now.
So I don't know.

But tensions are presently high there in the city, between many of the established Springfield residents and the recent immigrants.

The population went from '58,000 to 78,000' ... within 3 years ... when the Haitian immigrants relocated there.
The city was not prepared for this kind of growth, and the ongoing challenges it would present for all.

What a kind-hearted man.
Was actually very comforting, to hear his take on things there.

Last nite, on the Jesse Watters Show, another kind-hearted Christian man from Springfield was interviewed. He, too, spoke with no animosity at all towards the Haitians. He explained that it's just that their city is not equipped ... was not prepared ... for such a large influx of immigrants. And many of the immigrants there need to learn how to live in America, and about our laws. But meanwhile, the city and its residents are struggling.

Very good video. Worth listening to. Thanks!
