  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why Kamala’s Campaign Is Spiraling Into Desperation Mode

I did. So what if he meets Putin? What's he gonna do besides saying Putin can have what he wants? Maybe you did miss Ukraine war happening as you completely ignored and didn't respond to that when pointed out previously as to why things have changed a little bit recently.
The crux is:
Like you said, she has lots of excuses for hiding from all interviews and debates so far, except one that was really just a campaign ad and even for that she needed Walz next to her for emotional support. That doesn't exactly instill confidence in someone who might end up in a confrontation with the leader of an enemy nation.
I'm not going to try explaining my conversation with GoldenBoy beyond that.

Wasn't frivolous and there's a difference between getting appealed (which will happen 100%) and the appeal going through.
Appealed is past tense - meaning an appeal that went through.

Must be since anytime someone asks for evidence here they're expecting an internet link to be provided.
I didn't even ask for evidence; I just asked for an explanation.

My opinion is based on what I've read and heard over a course of time that I didn't take notes on, so I couldn't just rattle off a good explanation in a couple of minutes. I'd have to do some backtracking.

Historian Allan Lichtman, the guy who predicted nine out of the last ten election winners, including Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020, says Kamala is going to win. If he says she's going to when then I think she's going to win. I'm actually looking forward to the Kamala Harris presidency. Not because I think she'll be any good, but just the opposite. I've got my popcorn ready for the clown show.
um - are you saying Donald isn't a clown? That the rest of the world leaders watching the debate were not horrified that he is the best the Republican party could put up? A man that needed 33 fact checks in the debate, that said immigrants were eating dogs and cats, that has been diagnosed by psychiatrists many times as having Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder, that every time he opens his mouth about 'the worst president ever' or 'crooked.... blah blah' is actually projecting and confessing his own inadequacies?

Sure - voting is always a process one does holding one's nose. But I can at least respect the Lincoln Project and Republicans for Harris that have drawn a line in the sand, and say "No more!"

Also - climate change is a thing. The Democrat's I.R.A. is bringing jobs home and 'making America great again' in the sense of guaranteeing at least some domestic manufacturing jobs. Did Trump keep his promise of bringing manufacturing home to America during his regime? Nope.

There are a lot of ways you can tell that a political campaign is in trouble. Of course you can look at the polls, and the various models that aggregate those polls. And right now the models do not look good for Kamala Harris. Right now, for example, Nate Silver’s model gives Donald Trump a 60% chance of winning, with a projected 277 electoral votes.
Good! The faster Trump is in the White House, the better.

Then, we can finally move on and heal as a nation.

Just like last time he was in the White House, right?
It would be better than Harris in the White House.

That would be a disaster waiting to happen.

I keep hearing she has no responsibility for Biden administration decisions.
She really doesn’t. Call it VP privilege. Her only real job is to be there if the president can’t.
So I guess the Oval Office thing is a stretch.
Where does the Vice President work?

The VP doesn’t have an office in the White House?

I’m pretty sure she does.
She does. The VP *lives* at the Naval Observatory and her staff is primarily located in the EEOB, which is next to the West Wing.

I see now why Hamster was confused. RileyG said White House in their reply to me and Hamster interjected with Oval Office.

That’s isn’t the White House, and definitely not the Oval Office.
