They do? I was drinking tequila on the weeknd. The only signal it was sending me was 'Oh, Go on. Another won't hurt'.

I can say it used to affect me more than any other hard liquor.
It's made out of potatoes, isn't it.
In my drinking days I preferred beer but kept a bottle of vodka to "settle the nerves" first thing in the morning, then switch to beer. The vodka would usually come right back up.
But if I kept drinking it instead I'd get as sick as it gets. Horrific affect on me.
But Jesus set me free from alcohol.

Alcohol killed my mother. I was 13 when she turned yellow and died on a Saturday morning. At that young age, I decided that I would never drink. Have not. I would recommend against it, but that is me.

Distilled spirits (vodka, whiskey, etc) does have a higher alcohol content than wine or beer.
That is why it is usually severed in smaller amounts.

Using a typical serving size - a mug of beer, a glass of wine and a shot (or mixed drink) of a distilled spirit will all contain roughly the same amount of alcohol.

That's why when you get pulled over if the officer suspects DUI he (or she) is typically more concerned with how many drinks you have had rather than what you were drinking.

Alcohol is an addictive toxin. A delicious and enjoyable one to be sure, but one that has negative effects on user's physical and psychological health and potential dependency issue.

I disagree with the initial post - vodka is no more or less dangerous than any other alcohol (fermented or distilled) - but alcohol in general is dangerous.

Having two grandparents who drank themselves into early graves and a friend who developed liver disease in his 20s might be colouring my view a bit. However, I feel the same about other social substances - nicotine products and marijuana/THC products for instance.

You might be right.

I remember when I first started drinking I had a bottle of vodka. I kept taking shots and being impatient about the effects of alcohol taking too long to manifest. Suddenly I felt it and everything became swirly and dizzying. I quickly passed out. Amazingly I woke up with no hangover and in fact felt really refreshed and in a very good mood.

Like all things with a high alcohol content you need to be careful. I got lucky that one time. Although I have read that vodka is cleaner when it comes to nasty chemicals that can produce hangovers and generally feeling sick the next day.
