  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The husband of our vice president is telling men to "step up" to defend the right to kill a child. Real men will see through this evil charade.

Regarding the commission of direct abortions for convenience:

P1: Science does not know exactly when the living being in its mother's womb becomes a human being.
This is an admission that for awhile, it's not a human being.
P2: The living being in its mother's womb, if left alone, can only be a human being.
This contradicts the first point, that it's not a human being.
Conclusion: Therefore: In ignorance of that living being's humanity, one may never kill that innocent living being.
Conclusion is not valid, since the first two points contradicted themselves.

It's not an execution if a human being is not involved.
Wrong -

Execution date set for man in 2016 murder of five + unborn child in Citronelle

Dearman was charged with 12 counts of capital murder and 2 counts of kidnapping in the 2016 brutal mass murder of six people, including an unborn child, in Citronelle in August 2016.

New Hampshire charges 1st person in state with murder in the death of a fetus

A New Hampshire man appeared in court Monday on charges that he killed a pregnant woman and her unborn child by means of multiple blunt force injuries, the first time the state has charged someone with murder in the death of a fetus.
Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-212)

The Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-212) is a United States law that recognizes an embryo or fetus in utero as a legal victim, if they are injured or killed during the commission of any of over 60 listed federal crimes of violence. The law defines "child in utero" as "a member of the species Homo sapiens, at any stage of development, who is carried in the womb.
We have US Law defining "child in utero at ANY STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT.
and there are numbers of cases of people being charged with homicide, or murder in the death of an unborn child.

Could there be anything more creepy?

Last weekend, the "second gentleman" of the United States, Douglass Emhoff, took to X to post his personal support of child killing for convenience.

Hammster, since one of the biggest deterrents to abortion is the gaining of Faith in Christ, maybe we could focus more on helping people see the truth in Christ rather than overly lambasting and/or criminalizing those who advocate for abortion and don't yet know Him?

Why not both?

Perhaps you can settle my curiosity then. Why is it you felt this endorsement of evil from Kamala’s husband was thread creation worthy, but Trumps promotion of evil was not?
Because Trump advocated for the reversal of Roe v Wade, I’m hoping he will come to see this as a life issue. Iow, I’m hoping it’s a matter of ignorance.

But you're pushing for more than equal protection. You're trying to give rights to the unborn that living breathing human beings don't have.
I think every living breathing human being should not be executed without due process.

Do you have the same view of pedophiles?

Because we don't really see "both" being verbally meted out by Jesus and His apostles upon the Gentiles ...
If we were in a Theocracy or Christian Nation - it would carry some weight - however we are not.

Until then, we have to put our faith in God and rely on the laws of the land also.

It is the same with theft, rape, assault etc... the perfect answer would be to have people living righteously - we don't have a perfect word.

Do I have the same view of pedophiles?

That's a red-herring. Let's stick to addressing the issue of Abortion as civilized, discerning and educated Christians------y'know, more or less how Paul the Apostle would have exhorted us to do.

Of course we're not in a Theocracy or Christian Nation, which is exactly why I said what I said----"not both."
Until then, we have to put our faith in God and rely on the laws of the land also.

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything I've said.

Large groups of people obviously don’t see it that way (including your current presidential nominee), but A for effort for trying to use “creepy” the way that Walz successfully used “weird.”

I don't know what large groups you're thinking of...

I know a lot of people are upset about people attempting genocide in America by calling murder pro-choice and trying to convince people it's a good thing because of climate change.

Some day more people will wake up and realize they've been sold a bill of goods.

Perhaps the voters in California, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Ohio and Vermont who passed protections for abortion rights by decisive margins?

Not a red herring. We are discussing sinful behavior. I will assume that you think pedophilia is as sinful as abortion. So would you have that same attitude?

I’m not sure I follow, so please forgive me. So you’re saying because he decided abortion is fine to be kicked back as a decision for the states, that gets him a pass on needing a thread for the evil he advocates by his free for all plan for IVF and the lives that discards?

You also believe that Trump, who has been the defcato figurehead and leader of the pro life advocating Republican Party is somehow ignorant on the moral issue IVF poses? You think no one in his party or cabinet or advisory capacity raised that with him as an issue in the past 8 years? That when they all sat down recently to agree their policy platform, which now includes a commitment to fully covered IVF, no one would have raised this with him as a point for consideration?

I don't know what large groups you're thinking of...

All the people voting for pro-choice candidates and/or policies. Even folks in traditionally conservative states are voting to protect some sort of abortion access. It's such a politically toxic subject that Trump is trying to dodge the issue and the RNC has removed any mention of it from their platform except for one line about late term abortion.

I know a lot of people are upset about people attempting genocide in America by calling murder pro-choice and trying to convince people it's a good thing because of climate change.

Some day more people will wake up and realize they've been sold a bill of goods.
Your side has had 40 years to persuade everyone else that they're wrong and, so far, I can't see where you've made much headway.

Abortion is a social problem with an inherently different set of psychological and interpersonal nuances than pedophilia. So, let's not conflate apples with oranges here, all the while displacing the difference with the fact that both fruits fail to be light-bulbs.
