  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

is anyone else here bummed that Tulsi Gabbard didn’t get put forward as a nominee?

for some time, since I first learned who she was, and that she defected from the Democrat side, I’ve thought that her status has a woman, as veteran, and someone who thinks independently, might possibly have made her an extremely compelling option.
it hurts my soul that our choice is between the two people that are running.

Is she thinking independently or just going where the money is? She’s been out of office for four years and doesn’t seem to have much clout among the left, but the right seems happy to give her gigs now that she’s not tied to the Dems.

She's an old school Democrat - an endangered species. One that still relates to working class America. With the options we have for President, I could have easily voted for her.

Today's Democrats call her a Russian asset.

The party is full of them. They’re not endangered at all.

Today's Democrats call her a Russian asset.
Probably because she’s repeated pro-Russian propaganda.

I could tolerate her as President.I am aware she left that party .She was a moderate in my opinion ,that at times leaned to the rt.She was closer to the democrats of the 80s and 90s. She didnt belong in that party especially in that far left direction they are headed.Joe was a moderate for a time ,but once they took control of him he had to follow suit.Gabbard had she made it to the general election could have won .The party voters were headed in a far more left direction so they couldnt vote for her in the primaries . I had a pipe dream that Trump would choose her as his running mate .I know funny but ,we could all dream.

Its my soul too. I Tulsi could have been great. I Feel I am choosing the lesser evil by choosing Donald. I Know it may sound funny but I dont want to see whats going on in Colorado hapoen in other blue states.I live in the red state of SC so highly unlikely it would happen here.I still dont want to see it happen anywhere else.I believe Harris failed as border zsar. and I believe the Venezuelan gang is able to operate as they are from her encompitance .

She's being put into the Trump administration so perhaps she'll be well positioned to play to her strengths and she will be able to do some things you might like in government that are beneficial.

I am bummed that we are stuck with Kamala and Trump.

We need Gabbard, Nikki Haley and Mitt Romney as options. Maybe even a 3rd party. But that would never happen in this divisive age we live in, or at least for 2024. I am gonna vote 3rd party this year, and potentially even more so in the future.

I love old-school politicians, maybe cos I am an old soul in a young man. :)

Gabbard (D) should run, with Romney (R), and then 2024 would be a good election year.

Can you explain your reasoning, why you are not bummed that there are no moderates such as Tulsi Gabbard running or on the ballot in 2024? Putting a reason in your statement leads to a good conversation, my brother.

So then, explain your reasoning in a couple sentences.
We already have one admirer of Putin on the ballot for president, we don't need another.

I do see your point. Thank you for giving your explanation.

And yes, Putin has very evil tendencies, and brought out a war. He reminds me of the Dominion in Star Trek, a group of individuals who take over other planets for no reason, but to colonize.
