Bomb threats made to Chicago hotels deemed not credible on 2nd day of DNC​

City officials said law enforcement cleared a number of locations downtown on Tuesday afternoon and "said no credible threats were found."

The threat mentioned the Democratic National Convention that is taking place this week on the city's Near West Side. It also included anti-semitic statements.

A statement from the city's DNC 2024 Joint Information Center read: "Law enforcement continues to assess and investigate all threats and reminds the public to report any suspicious activity directly by calling 911."

Last month, maggots were allegedly dumped at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was staying during his trip to the United States. The Palestinian Youth Movement, an advocacy group, posted a video to Instagram showing mealworms and maggots crawling across white linen tablecloths on banquet tables at the hotel, apparently placed there to protest the war in Gaza.

Colorado Republican Party issues call to burn all Pride flags​

The Colorado GOP’s mass email titled “God Hates Pride,” read, in part, “The month of June has arrived and, once again, the godless groomers in our society want to attack what is decent, holy, and righteous so they can ultimately harm our children.”

The party’s message was signed by chairman Dave Williams. A post from the Colorado Republican Party on X, formerly Twitter, read simply, “Burn all the #pride flags this June.”

Both have also filed court documents in different jurisdictions this week, each purportedly on behalf of the Colorado Republican Party, asking judges to order that his rival lacks legitimacy.

Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib told Colorado Politics that his counterparts' difficulties deciding on party leadership mirrored Republicans' habit of refusing to accept election results.

[Sep 27] A Michigan man was charged Friday with allegedly assaulting a mail carrier over a "Kamala Harris for President" mailer that the mail carrier delivered to his mailbox.

"The defendant was allegedly upset that he had received mail regarding presidential candidate Kamala Harris and allegedly said that he did not want that 'black █████' in his mailbox," according to press release from the Oakland County, Michigan prosecutor's office said. "He then called the mail carrier a 'black █████' and threatened the carrier. The mail carrier used pepper spray to stop the defendant."

[Oct 3] Ahead of Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate, Haley Popp shared a picture of sugar cookies emblazoned with the face of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on the Instagram page for her Flower Mound shop Hive Bakery.

The cookies sold out and the death threats rolled in, Popp said.

That wasn't what I meant, and you know it. I don't care if you disagree with her policies or you think that they're wrong for the country - that's politics. But that sort of imagery serves no purpose other than to stir up fear and anger. Don't get taken in by those looking to spread hatred and division in our country.

Hatred and division is all politics has to offer these days. Keep the people squabbling while the elites carry on as usual. Nothing for the people as the people no longer matter to the governments. They lick the hand that feeds them and they are well fed. Amazing how career politicians and civil servants become so rich considering their salaries. However it is interesting to note that although neither side is by the people for the people any more, they do manage to squeak out a few actual policies a mere few weeks before an election then we hear nothing for another four years. Its a shame people in the US don't have the option to vote none of the above on the ballots like we do here.
