Man you are more correct than you know. Trump would never have been elected in the 90s or the early 2000s. It wasn't until people got fed up with the lefts rhetoric and name calling and accusations whenever we spoke up about their agenda. People wanted someone who would actually fight back and Trump became their man. We had a lot of moderate candidates who we liked, but it made no difference. We were still called racists, racists, and every phobe you can imagine. People were sick of it.

And it's just gotten worse to the point where we can't seem to break the cycle now.

But on a positive note Trump said something about changing his speech at the RNC to be more about unity than the speech he had originally prepared. We'll see how that goes. I'm sure no matter what he says the left won't acknowledge any of it as good. The hate will go on.
I was watching on NBC and I had to change it. It was nothing but negative and attacks.,More than a little bias

And then I've heard a report that Crooks bought the ladder at a local store and brought it with him.

Lot's of reports...few actual facts.
I dont believe ladders are protected by the 2nd amendment. They could have disladdered him right there.

This could end up being really embarrassing for the SS and local law enforcement

I am amused you keep referring to them as "the SS".

Yeah. They probably wouldn’t appreciate that. But I assumed everyone would know it was short for Secret Service and not a reference to Hitler’s henchmen

I thought Trump.was the leader of the civil war movement. After all he has called people to fight.
I've never heard of this. I think he brings divisions against the parties. So, you sound right. He responsible for January 6th. And should have been charged. There needs to be strict laws, before someone can run for president. America is headed for huge nightmare. From what I'm seeing.

The whole thing was a fake staged PsyOp :
I've been debating with a few black people about that.

Did the shooter stage being killed? He couldn't expect to get away (which is rather like most of the young white males who use an AR to go out in a blaze of infamy), so did "they" do a search to contact a young, white male who was already willing to die?

Did Trump (or anyone) stage "just graze the ear?" From a shot 200+ yards away? Was Trump willing to take that risk? That shot was only one inch from being a successful head shot, just a slight turn of Trump's head, out of control of the shooter, could have made it so.

Did they stage taking out three people on the stage? When I first saw the video, my immediate thought was that it was highly unlikely for someone to have aimed at the president with a tight crowd of people behind him, flanking him, and above him...and not struck anyone. It took a bit of time for the news of the other three persons struck to come out...unfortunately, but not surprisingly, every bullet found a "home."

I know you're not trying to imply anything. My sense of humor only goes as far as the laugh.

"It was staged" people are ready to believe none of the difficult facts even happened.

There was no actual shooter. The dead person was an actor. Etc. Etc.

I don’t think there are all that many. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard of any happening

In polls conducted since December, a little more than one-third of all Democrats have said that Bush stole the election, while roughly half have said that Bush won the presidency on a technicality, and just 15% said he won fair and square.
Its a reasonable judgement based on real facts that happened. Contrast that with concocting a whole set of lies and clinging to them for dear life.

There have been a whole bunch over the years. Personally I think anyone soft headed enough to be swayed by rhetoric like that was a few planks short of a raft to begin with.

Yet it happened. We all know it.

This kid shooting at Donald Trump will not be the end of this ridiculous political violence either. Until we remove the fuel and spark and air from our political environment.

Do you not see the double-standard here?

So you're saying that it was "reasonable" to question election results due to a very real set of extenuating circumstances in one case pertaining to irregularities in the voting process, but not in another?

I'd argue that what happened in 2020 (with the big changes that were made to how people vote) constitutes a more sweeping set of extenuating circumstances than what happened in 2000 and 2004.

There were states that literally switched to a universal (ID-free) system of voting in response to covid (which I don't think anyone would deny favored democrats over republicans), that's a bigger shift away from "the norm" than anything that happened in 2000 or 2004.
