This attempted assassination could not have been closer. Another inch and Trump would have been dead. That smacks of Divine Providence but why would God save Trump?

He seems such a divisive figure somebody who would break the current world order jeopardizing the freedoms of countries all over the world. Ukraine and Taiwan are two examples. He is a proven liar, adulterer and fraudster so he has not earned any special grace, so why save the man? What does God want to do here?

Why would the Sovereign Lord permit Trump to survive?
See Jesus' words:

There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” -- Luke 13

He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. -- Matthew 5

In this fallen world, bad things can happen to good people and good things can happen to bad people.

This is a fallen world; if only good things happened to good people and only bad things happened to bad people, this would be a just world, not a fallen world.

Is that really informed advice since the current type of politics has damaged the economics? I think I understand as much about economics as you do.

You have larger problems than politics. That's merely the public face for a greater mechanism. My understanding of the subject is professionally based and our clientele was far wealthier than politicians.

We can spend billions on illegals who shouldn't even be here while we have citizens who are homeless, hungry and sick and get very little in the way of help as compared to the benefits given to the illegals.

This is just one liberal economic disaster.

That's one way of looking at it but it's not how the world really operates. All that you described has no direct impact on politicians of any stripe. It doesn't effect their livelihood or families and they're not looking at it. And it shouldn't take a border crisis for you to realize they don't care. They've been showing you all along.

Politicians don't run a thing. It's the money behind them calling the shots. There's not a problem in society that money didn't create or couldn't resolve if desired. The world is the way it is because they made it so.

The migrants were allowed for a reason and it doesn't pertain to votes. And it's unlikely the cause is singular. When you want to move the needle sometimes you have to insert a little chaos. You create a problem which allows you to do the thing you desired without interference. You may allow crime to increase so citizens complain and ask for more protection. Then you remind them about police shortages and implement surveillance or robo dogs to assist. That was always the plan but the citizens are clueless.

Create the problem + wait for the reaction = provide the solution. That's the formula.

It's not a leftist agenda it's a global shift and others are experiencing the same. They're marching to the same ideals and dragging the world along and picking up their pace. The next presidency requires chaos. There must be an event to flip the switch and move over to digital currency. It's a certainty and we have a timeline. They'll have ubi but it isn't like cash and you won't be able to save it. You'll have a few months to spend it or it disappears. That's the plan.

I understand how they think and what they're doing. Sometimes it surprises me but I accept it's the hand I'm dealt and play it to the best of my ability. I don't worry or complain and rarely get upset about the state of the world. You can't have this much evil unless people fall down on the job and if your enemy outworks you he'll beat you every time.

If christians are slack this is what occurs. Sometimes the only way to bring people to their senses is to allow them to suffer. But the ones who aren't deceived can prepare for what's to come. The choice is ours.

I have no problem in desiring for America to be Great Again!

Is that really informed advice since the current type of politics has damaged the economics? I think I understand as much about economics as you do.

Just for one example take the border situation. The overwhelming influx of illegals has put a strain on many states, and cities to the point even liberal leaders are crying for Federal dollars to save their destroyed budgets. We can spend billions on illegals who shouldn't even be here while we have citizens who are homeless, hungry and sick and get very little in the way of help as compared to the benefits given to the illegals.

This is just one liberal economic disaster.
We should leave the goalposts where they were.
But since they’re over here now, I would just like to say that if the USA doesn’t reform immigration policy soon, we’re going to run out of workers and jobs will go begging. This will stall the economy and we’ll be in dire straits by the late ‘20s.

The idiom here is mostly lost on us Westerners, sadly, look at the construction of the verse.
“He makes His sun rise on the evil…and [He] sends rain on the just…”

The sun here is the “curse” since “the evil” [people] are mentioned first; He sends rain “blessing” on the just.
We must remember that Jesus was in a semi arid desert when he thus spake.

That's not particularly relevant. Sometimes the rain is also a curse. The point is, both of them fall upon the evil and the good without consideration of their morality.

The people wanted a King. It wasn’t God’s plan. He gave them what they wanted. If you know the story it didn’t work out well, and God chose another, a man after God’s own heart.
Saul was what the people wanted. He started out good but then he went terribly wrong.
You forget the part where God told Samuel to lie about who would make a good King therefore dooming Saul et al to a pointless death.

You’ll have to give me that chapter and verse
Because God did not order Samuel to lie, as Samuel did not say something which was untrue. But Samuel did not say everything he knew–he kept part of the reason for his coming to himself.
And I don’t know where you get the other part about dooming Saul. He did that to himself.

Is there actually anyone on this thread that believes God the creator of the universe has the ability to perform a miracle? Just a question ?
Without a doubt I have.

Powell spoke the other day and said we'll never have the low interest rates and low inflation we saw in the past.
Powell is a psychological manipulator but he may be right. In the past, we had somewhat efficient supply chains and now we are becoming unipolar and also the conflicts, Houthis shenanigans.
If he was really trying to make America great he'd tell you to buy some. He knows the timeline and what the right investment could do for your family. But he hasn't done that. If he really wanted to help he'd tell you what to buy but he won't do that either.
I would hope all the president's motive would be to Make America Great Again. I know America was great at one time because my mother still wanted to come here after we nuked her country twice. If I was in my twenties and someone nuked my country they'd be an enemy for life.
Spend less time on politics and more on economics and you'll understand how things work.
Amen! It's saddening once you learn how monetary and fiscal policies affect our lives. For one homelessness.

The real problem is trying to use human reasoning to figure out what God is doing in the earth today.
Aren't we doing this now arguing for a miracle? I believe in miracles because I have experienced them but for this, I can say, I don't know because maybe the kid just missed. Now that I'm older my days of spiritualizing everything is over.

Make no mistake he lies. But you have to endure it because there's nuggets of truth sprinkled in. The other day he said he hadn't met with Biden for 2 years. Which prompted further questions and entertainment. They expect we'll get a cut right before the election. And Yellen spoke as well.

I would hope all the president's motive would be to Make America Great Again.

We're not going back and Powell warned us a few years ago and he's right. The best thing you can do is prepare for the transition while time remains and its winding down. Bibi is addressing congress on the 24th. You'll have insight on where things are heading on that front. Watch the body language and see who's in charge.

Amen! It's saddening once you learn how monetary and fiscal policies affect our lives. For one homelessness.

Economics was once a mainstay of education. It's removal has harmed up irreparably. When you don't understand the way things work you're forced to trust others with your livelihood. Minding your money is a must and that doesn't begin with saving or spending wisely. You learn how it works and once you do you'll never be the same. That's a forerunner to the owner mindset which is necessary for financial freedom. When it's lacking you follow the plan. Go to school, get a good job, retire, etc.

I learned at 62 two years ago and I feel like a dork for not learning it sooner.

So true, I talk to my kids about learning a little about investing. At least high-yield savings and some commodities both physical and paper. You have to stay ahead of the money grubbers.

If I may add getting into debt.

Better late than never and that's not old these days. ;-)

Tell them to start something. Take an idea and get a camera and see what happens. It's better to have financial autonomy and multiple income streams. And it gives them more flexibility. They've made visas for digital nomads. Things are different now.

If I may add getting into debt.

Credit cards weren't always available to younger people. You had to get a co-signer but they petitioned to get access to college students and the rest is history. Now they can't afford a home and we have neets (not in employment, education, or training) and unemployables. They're dropping out the workforce.

Why hasn't the other sloppy possibility been mentioned?

Could this be the start of the Tribulation? So perhaps The Devil now has free reign and Trump being spared was his doing!

That conflicts with the narrative he's God's man and Cyrus #2.
