Sure they are because someone who is righteous will always get back up. Proverbs 24:16 Its the unrighteousness that stop trying, that think they can't overcome sin and obey through Jesus Christ, basically making their devil bigger than their God.

Someone who is in Christ will not live in perpetual sin, if they slip and fall they get back up and ask for God's help -His forgiveness, mercy and sanctification (change of direction) Once Jesus heals, He cleanses us from all sin and unrighteousness 1 John 1:9 and tells us to go and sin no more.

Scripture promises He has a people who overcome

Rev 14:12 12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Now the crack is growing wider. You said we are saved from sin. But now you're saying we are not saved from sin but we are just saved from perpetual sin. This is as if sinning only occasionally makes us as holy and perfect as God is. But that is not true.

The new standard you have created is not holiness, perfection, or complete obedience. It is "getting back up" after sinning (i.e., after not being holy, after not being perfect, and after not being completely obedient). And "getting back up is defined as: asking for God's forgiveness, mercy, and cleansing.

This is looking more like what I believe. If you add to it the fact that God does not allow His children to wallow in sin without His correction (because He corrects everyone He loves) and that He does not stop until they are corrected (because He does it for their good), then the gap between our beliefs shrinks even further.

Sinning will never make us holy or perfect thats true and I’m sorry if you don’t understand what I am saying. All have sinned, so no one can be perfect and holy, but Christ makes us perfect and holy though His righteousness who is without sin and is perfect and holy. When we confess our sins and are truly sorry for our sin which hurts our relationship with Jesus Isa 59:2, we have a very merciful Savior who wants nothing more for His children to lean on Him and bring our sins to Him and ask for His help in overcoming, but we must not just confess our sins, we must also forsake them Pro 28:13 and we can through Jesus. When He cleanses us from all sin and unrighteousness, He makes us perfect and holy and says to go and sin no more. If it were impossible He would not ask. He doesn’t make us do it alone John 14:15-18 but if we reject His law-and harden our hearts, there is no place for Him to go. He is at the door, but we have to open it.

The sanctification through Christ is not where the cracks come in, but if one is an enmity to God, they do not subject themselves to God’s law, nor indeed can they. Rom 8:7-8 Thats the real crack, depending on our own sanctification instead of God's Eze 20:12, our own righteousness instead of God's Psa 119:172, or own truth instead of God's Psa 119:151, that's where people go wrong. When we think we know better than God on what is right and wrong and don't believe or follow the teachings of Jesus or live by His example 1 John 2:6

For every scripture Paul uses on perceived lawlessness that most people follow, they never reconcile the scripture Paul uses for not sinning, doers of the law are made righteous, keeping God's commandments its what matters, they are holy and righteousness, faith does not void the law but establishes it, but no one ever bothers to try to really understand what he is teaching why we have this warning 2 Peter 3:16 and no one bothers to reconcile Paul's teachings with Jesus, as if a servant is greater than our Master and Heavenly Father

Is this the post you're talking about?

What are the main points that you want me to address?
I don't want you to address anything. I want GripDocility to address the posts I wrote to her.

Before she does she needs to read Joshua 7 which is the best Biblical reference to presumptuous sin and there being no forgiveness for it. It's the story of Achan after the destruction of Jericho.

@B Griffin , I'm sorry that I have caused this misunderstanding.

Gary K,

My sibling in Jesus, I have been stating that I don't desire to further that discussion, because I know your perspective side. As for your Jericho reference, I would point to the scarlet cord of the prostitute Rahab, who is in the very blood line of Jesus and closes out James chapter 2 as it truly flows.

I am your "Brother" in Jesus. I'm sorry if I have been ambiguous about this. I thought my profile listed me as a man. The sin of the High hand that you keep referring to is very clearly defined in scripture and I haven't said much about it except that it is no light matter. Hypocrisy is no light matter in scripture and I genuinely have zero desire to discuss how that discussion plays out. On this single scriptural topic, I am well studied a bit more than other topics. It is something that I feel is a conviction matter of God unto mankind. I used to "exegete", show how scripture binds together on the topic with all scripture in hermeneutic agreement. I hurt some siblings in Jesus badly by doing so. They didn't understand certain passages of scripture and were misusing them. I used to be a very aggressive person to discuss these things with. I have been convicted that it is only God that can show these things to people. I am a sinner, dependent on God's mercy, just like all of us, here and I am commanded to Build up in Love, not light my tongue on fire and tear people down with scripture.

All love to you in Jesus Christ, sibling in Him.

I know a man that was allowed to wallow in sin so dark that it broke him free of his self righteousness in a way that forced him to cling to Jesus so tightly, that he will accept no substitution in doctrine. This man was given a new heart that very day and provided a new life. You wouldn't recognize this man, if you knew him before conversion. This man never forgot where God found him and extends that compassion that God showed to him, accordingly.

What does Rahab have to do with Achan? You change the subject constantly.

The books of Revelation and Daniel show very clearly there are limits to God's mercy as does the story of the flood. Those two books also plainly show that God will have a commandment keeping people at the end of time.

You can deny it all you want but you do so at an incredible cost to yourself.

Lamentations 3:22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness

Psalm 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

Colossians 3:14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

1 Timothy 1:5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

there are limits to God's mercy
James 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. 13 There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.

1 Timothy 1:15,16 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

Sharing scriptures, where God Judges is not someone judging. Sharing what God says will keep us out of heaven, is not the same. Mat 5:19 It's actually more love than anything. Like a mother who tells their child to not touch a hot stove.

We serve a longsuffering Father, He forgives us as much as He asks us to forgive each other. But there will be a Judgement 2 Cor 5:7 and not everyone who says Lord Lord will be saved- those who do His Fathers will in Heaven will be, why Jesus will say on that Great Day depart from Me, ye who practice lawlessness Mat 7:23- which is the same word in 1 John 3:4 because it is God's will we keep His law and not sin Psa 40:8 Heb 8:10. Jesus saves us from sin Mat 1:21- we need to be converted through His Spirit which enables us to obey Him John 14:15-18 and leave the old man behind. If we are arguing against obeying God's law I would consider the direction one is going. Rom 8:7-8 Mat 7:23 Rev 22:15. If we love Jesus why would a God-fearing Christian not want to do everything He asks through our love to Him and follow the example He left for us 1 John 2:6 1 Peter 2:21-22.

We see how patient God was with literal Israel but that patience ran out. These stories our for our learning and correction. Not to follow the same path of disobedience and expect a different result when we are told plainly, it won't.

All sins but blasphemy of the Holy Spirit are forgivable.

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin John 16:8 which is breaking God's law 1 John 3:4 Rom 7:7 James 2:10-12 Mat 5:19-30 and calls us out of rebellion if we hear His voice Heb 3:7-8 and calls us back to God's Word through the Spirit of Truth John 14:26 and the Spirit of Truth is given when we keep His commandments John 14:15-18, while we can't obey God on our own, it requires our decision to want to through love and faith. The sin against the Spirit, is when we stop listening to that still voice calling us out of rebellion to God, and learn to live comfortably in our sins and can no longer hear His voice calling on us to repentance- that is the sin that can't be forgiven if we continue in that State- willfully sinning, which remains no more sacrifice. Heb 10:26

Sinning will never make us holy or perfect thats true
That's a wierd thing to say.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Mt 12:33–37)

Sin comes from the heart. How can anyone think that the things that come out of an evil heart can make a person clean?

The truth of the matter is that when a person sins, it shows that the heart from which it came is not good, not holy, not righteous.
and I’m sorry if you don’t understand what I am saying.
Is this what you're saying?...
It is true that Christ coming to live in a person's heart creates a new man that did not exist before that is "created according to God in true righteousness and holiness" (Eph 4:24). But it is not corruptible by sin (1 Pet 1:23). It is not as though Christ makes us holy and righteous, then we lose it when we stumble and fall, then we gain it back again by repentance, then lose it again when we stumble and fall again.

No. The righteousness and holiness that a person has when Jesus comes to live in their heart is "true righteousness and holiness" and cannot be corrupted by sin, just as Jesus can not be corrupted by sin. And it is not gained by an evil heart promising God it won't be evil any more.

Though you speak of it, you do not seem to understand that a person's flesh and spirit/Spirit are in adversarial opposition to one another. If you don't understand it, you will never understand that sin comes from the flesh and seals its fate, but righteousness comes from the spirit/Spirit and seals its fate.
The crack I mentioned was to show you in your doctrine the way of escape, much like when Paul used the inscription "to the unknown God" to help the Athenians.
Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. (Ro 3:31)

No one can trust in Christ that He is willing and able to forgive their many sins and exempt them for God's wrath without first knowing and understanding that their many sins make them guilty before God and that they are worthy of the punishment they seek to avoid. And I would add that faith also voids works in the same manner because no one can rest all their weight on Christ while holding out hope that there is some redeeming quality in his own worthinness of God's mercy.

Galatians 1:3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
There is a judgmentalism in your posts that borders on arrogance. You seem to forget that you're speaking to anonymous people and they may very well have a greater experience with God than you do.

Here is an article I wrote in 2001 that happened to me in 1978.

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
.
The moon rose on the snow covered landscape flooding my world with
bright moonlight. I finished my reading for the evening, turned the Iight off, and
leaned back against the couch thinking while I watched the scattered clouds drift
by under the full moon. The clouds made moving patches of darkness across an
otherwise brilliantly white landscape, as they slid under the moon.
My mind wandered back to a few weeks before when I had been baptized
and committed my life to Christ. I relived again that wonderful feeling I
experienced as I came up out of the watery grave of baptism into a new life. I
had never before known the peace and happiness in my life that I had
experienced since I had met Jesus and committed my life to Him. My days and
nights were spent in prayer, praise, and study of the Word of God. The
depression I had known for years seemed to have vanished into thin air.
As I lay there counting my blessings, my heart overflowed with gratitude
towards my Creator. He had rescued me from the life of self-destruction that I
had led since t graduated from high school. Because of this I could relate to the
words of David very well, when he said, "He brought me up out of an horrible pit,
out of the miry clay, set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings." Psalm
4O:2. I felt Iike nothing that I could offer Him was good enough, for my life up till
then had been one great failure.
I came out of my reverie, thanked God once again for my new life, and
looked back out the window at the magnificent view that I felt God had provided
just for me that night.
Suddenly, t was not where I had been the moment before. I was no
longer looking out the picture window of my parent's living room at Montana's
Yaak River Valley.
I was now standing in a large room with no windows. The building was a
large one of log construction, and at one end of the room was a Iarge, river-rock
fireplace with mantel and hearth. A large fire burned in the fireplace and there
was someone standing in front of the fireplace, back towards me, looking into the
fire. A large, very long table capable of seating maybe a hundred people filled
most of the room. I stood at one end of the table, facing down its length, to the
person in front of fireplace at the opposite end. On either side of the table were
people facing away from me wearing long, black, hooded robes, and I slowly
became aware of the sounds of chanting coming from the hooded figures.
I stood wondering where I was, but for some reason feeling no fear, even
though I had never experienced anything like this before. I looked back down to
the other end of the long table, and the person standing there slowly turned
around and walked up to his end of the table without looking up at me. I couldn't
see his face because this person too was wearing a hood, and the light coming
from the fire behind him was only light source in the room. He Iooked up when
he got to the end of the table, threw the hood back and then ! could see his face
and eyes. He locked eyes with me, raised his arm, and pointing at me began to
beckon with his index finger.
"You're mine, you're mine, you're mine," he said, still beckoning me
towards him with his index finger. Slowly I began to float down the length of that
massive table. His eyes were locked on mine and I could not tear mine away.
He seemed to be willing me on down the table, causing me to come ever closer
to him.
I had come to within a couple of inches of his face and felt I was about to
be sucked right into him, when the realization struck me who this was. This was
a one-way trip from which I was never to return. The devil had come to try take
over my mind.
Suddenly the spell was broken as I realized all this and my hearts cry
burst out of my lips. "No!" was all I could scream, but it was enough.
l was once again lying on the couch in my parent's home in Yaak,
Montana. The goose bumps stood out all over me and my heart was beating like
a jackhammer on steroids. The hair on my arms and the back of my neck stood
on end. I knew fear as I had never known it before, and have never known it like
that since
I rolled over on the couch and began to pray, but as I did a scene from my
past came before me with lifelike clarity. I remembered telling the devil I was his.
A long forgotten deed had come back to haunt me.
I had been willing to squander my soul for a momentary pleasure, and
thus had come to the point of telling the devil I was his. I had made a bargain
with the devil and now he had come to claim what was rightfully his.
With desperation I began to pray again. I told the Lord that I knew I had
done this. I told Him I had gotten into this through my own stupidity, and I
confessed just how wrong I had been and told God that I was in over my head. I
told Him I had no chance to win fighting with the devil, and with that I began to
claim the promises I had learned in the Bible. I claimed the promise of 2nd
Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for thee, my strength is made perfect in
weakness." I claimed Psalm 91:11, "For He shall give his angels charge over
thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." I claimed the promise that man's. extremity is
God's opportunity and every other promise that I could think of. I prayed as
Jacob must have prayed at the Brook Jabbok the night he thought he was
wrestling for his life with his brother Esau.
As I prayed and claimed the promises of God I could feel the struggle in
the room. There was an actual physical struggle in that room that night for I
could feel wing tips brush against my back as I Iay face down and prayed for help.
I would feel warm ones and cold ones, sometimes lightly brushing against me
and sometimes forcefully hitting me. I don't know how long I prayed. lt might
have been hours, or it might have been only a few minutes. I just do not know.
All I know is I have never been so afraid.
Finally the struggle was over, and a warmth and peace filled that living
room that I have not the words to describe. I lay there and told God how thankful
I was for His loving care and slowly drifted off to sleep. I was at peace, and my
heart was filled with gratitude.
Do I believe in angels? Oh yes, definitely yes. ls God real? Oh yes,
definitely yes.
When I am told that the Bible is just my "guide" and that I should not take it
literally, I know different. When I am told that the Bible does not apply today, I
know different. The promises of God's Word are as true today as they were the
day they were given. When He says, "Come now, and let us reason together,
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red
like crimson, they shall be as woo)" believe Him. He has always kept His word
with me, and He will with you too.

Do you think I've learned anything more about God, His love for us, and scripture in the last 40+ years? Have you ever had a similar experience that showed you a complete and total dependence on God is your only solution?

I have been under demonic attack since the day I was rebaptized. Within less than a half hour I began experiencing severe headaches in which my right eye would turn blood red and stream tears. The only way I can describe the pain was like someone was sticking an ice pick in my eye repeatedly.

How can I say the above? My parents both, unknowingly, practiced Hindu pagan practices which gave the devil a direct line into our family. I was rejected by every member of my immediate family and the abuse was bad. But I thank God for it all now as it gave me insight into the power of God to heal our spiritual maladies and the power of evil to destroy our lives.

The Power behind sin is the Nomos. I dare not convert the Stones to Bread.
All Christians have converted into the nomos. For the Law is in our hearts and in our minds. If not we are not.

There is a judgmentalism in your posts that borders on arrogance.
Gary, I apologize if anything I have written has made you feel judged. If I appear arrogant to you, then for that, I thank you for pointing it out. I will give this to God in prayer and beg Him to fix this, immediately. Thank you and bless you.
You seem to forget that you're speaking to anonymous people and they may very well have a greater experience with God than you do.
My Brother, I am so sorry. I'm certain you are far more experienced with God than myself. If I came off any other way, know that I count myself lower than the lowest sinner in my heart and of that you can be rest assured. You are free to know that I willingly acknowledge that you are superior to me. Please forgive me for insinuating anything else, anywhere else.
Here is an article I wrote in 2001 that happened to me in 1978.
Thank you for sharing your article.

Brother, I would never assume your walk. You alone know it. I will glad heartedly digest what you have written. Congratulations on your 40+ years walking with God.

I'm so very sorry! This sounds painful and frightening!

All Christians have converted into the nomos. For the Law is in our hearts and in our minds. If not we are not.
No. I politely, yet specifically and with conviction disagree. The NOMOS of sin and death is contrary to the Law of Love, in the Spirit.

I will now share my personal conviction on this singular matter. We Will be Judged on how we Love one another as He Loved us. No man can take my freedom away that Jesus Christ Purchased with his Everything. I will not submit to that yoke of Slavery, ever again.

Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

The only thing that I ever gave to God, was confession that I am a sinner and recognition that it is He and His work alone that Save me. I will not defame Jesus Christ's command for me to Love my neighbor as He has Loved me. He shows me Grace, therefor I will show Grace. I will not rebuild what He fulfilled. This is my opinion and conviction. I do not PROMOTE Sin, nor does Jesus. I was forgiven my life debt of sin and will do so for humanity as He has done for me. I will not burden a Christian with the very thing that we cannot do in our flesh, in any manner. I cling to His provided Wedding Garment, Armor, Atonement, Covering, Propitiation, Satisfaction of my debt.

I only surrender to Jesus. I look to Jesus and nothing else. He is the very Anchor of my Soul. He IS my Sabbath Rest. He is my ONLY HOPE.

A NEW Law He has Given and I surrender to He, Alone. In my opinion.
