  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Bolivia’s President Luis Arce called on the country to “organize and mobilize against the coup d’état, in favor of democracy” after soldiers and armored military vehicles positioned themselves around governmental buildings in La Paz on Wednesday.

“We cannot allow coup attempts to take Bolivian lives once again. We want to urge everyone to defend democracy,” Arce said from the presidential residence, Casa Grande.

Armored vehicles were seen ramming into the doors of Bolivia’s government palace, according to Associated Press

This sounds scary, and awfully familiar to something bad that happened nearly 41 months ago. Hopefully this coup ends safely and is shut down.

What an odd take for such news.
Well, I had to say it, cos America could learn a thing or two from Bolivia. Cos, if June 26ers in Bolivia get punished in a maximum security prison, then the Jan 6ers in the US should get punishment in a maximum security prison.

Did you peruse the article?
People were complaining that their family members were being jailed for doing what they were told to do (which wasn’t so unusual that they would have thought to balk, or refuse), and knew nothing of the attempted coup plot.

But the story is still unfolding; we don’t know what we don’t know.

I will wait a few weeks, until more information is available, as I can not make speculations.
