When has the POTUS or the SECDEF deployed the DC National Guard inside of Washington DC with out being requested to do so by local Washington DC authorities?
BTW, you do know that until 1973 (actually 1974) , DC did not even have a mayor or a council, right? Congress passed the Home Rule Act in 1973 authorizing DC to have a mayor and a council. Elections took place and they came into office in the beginning of 1974.

Miller and Pierson have absolutely ZERO authority to tell Trump what to do. Also, Miller has no command authority over anyone in the military.

He was the acting Secretary of Defense on Jan. 6, 2021. His authority to act regarding the National Guard came from Trump. Trump did not do anything and finally Pence acted.

The problem on Jan. 6th is that many in Trump's world that day begged him to do something. Even his children tried to get him to do something.
Witnesses about this include Pat Cipollone, the White House Counsel at the time and members of congress. Even Hannity begged him to do something.

And this(that he was implored by WH council to make a statement) was testified to under oath, as well, by his WH council Pat Cipollone and ERic Hirschman at the hearings. I watched Jan 6 in real time that day. I kept wondering when the President was going to make a statement telling the mob to go home, or at least tweet something! He didn't for almost 4 hours. This after he knew people had been injured and a woman killed.
All the conspiracy theories I've heard, such as "it was an inside job with far left provocateurs egged on by the CIA or FBI and Nancy Pelosi was supposed to order up the National Guard."Aren't true, and if these are true, why did former President Trump sit and watch it on TV in the oval office for 4 hours and not go on TV to make a statement to tell them to stop, or at least tweet out something. after being begged by his cabinet, WH council and even his own family?

There has been some video, as well as eyewitnesses, evidence of undercover provocateurs. The Director of the FBI, while testifying under oath, refused to deny that there were not any undercover agents within the crowds of protestors.

That is conspiracy junk.

A newly-released mass of security footage from the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol has reignited a host of long-debunked conspiracy theories -- with conservative lawmakers and media personalities getting in on the act.
Republican Senator Mike Lee and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene joined a chorus of influencers claiming cameras caught a man disguised in a "Make America Great Again" cap flashing a badge that identified him as law enforcement.
"I can't wait to ask FBI Director Christopher Wray about this at our next oversight hearing," Lee, who represents Utah, said on X, formerly Twitter.
In reality, the man in the clip -- published after new House Speaker Mike Johnson ordered hours of surveillance video released -- is a Donald Trump supporter from Chicago.
Kevin James Lyons, identifiable by his outfit, worked as an air conditioning technician until he was sentenced to more than four years in prison in July, according to court filings. One of more than 1,200 people arrested in connection to the riot, he was found guilty of six charges.
Now Lyons is the latest fodder for a years-old disinformation campaign experts say aims to whitewash Trump's efforts to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 election victory.

The insurrectionist mob that showed up at the president’s behest and stormed the U.S. Capitol was overwhelmingly made up of longtime Trump supporters, including Republican Party officials, GOP political donors, far-right militants, white supremacists, off-duty police, members of the military and adherents of the QAnon myth that the government is secretly controlled by a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophile cannibals.
That is an AP article so I can only post one sentence from it.

If this is conspiracy junk, then FBI Director Wray ought to be able to provide irrefutable proof. However, has he done so? Instead, from what I've seen of Wray when testifying before the Senate and the House of Representative committees within the past year, the FBI Director does little more than deflect or evade questions regarding undercover agents within that crowd of protestors.

The accusers should be able to provide irrefutable proof. They made wild claims to try and protect Trump without any evidence. Christopher Wray testified this:

“If you are suggesting that the violence that happened at the Capitol on Jan. 6 was part of some operation orchestrated by FBI sources or FBI agents, the answer is ‘no, it was not’ and to suggest otherwise is a disservice to our hardworking, dedicated law enforcement professionals,” Mr. Wray said in testimony before the House Judiciary Committee.

You want Wray to prove a negative. The accusers need to back up their claims with something more than conspiracy theories, like 'ghost buses filled with FBI agents'.

Nope that is him denying it was caused by the FBI.
I understand that many Trump supporters would really want that day to be caused by anything else than their own side, but the reality is that it was domestic terrorism from the right.

The crazies stopped the legal objections to the election. At the rally, and the trouble started during the rally, Trump told people to act peacefully and patriotically. Our country is in a bad state if people are so propagandized that they always assume the worst of others.

Weeks earlier.....tweet from the POTUS:
"Big protest in D.C. on January 6th, "Be there, will be wild!"

[Under what possible circumstance would the Congresslional certification of the election be wild? ]

WASHINGTON (AP) — Members of the far-right Oath Keepers were ecstatic when then-President Donald Trump invited supporters to a “wild” protest in Washington on Jan. 6, 2021, when Congress would be certifying the results of the 2020 election, according to messages shown Thursday during the seditious conspiracy trial for the militia group’s founder and four associates.

During an FBI agent’s testimony, jurors saw a string of online posts that Oath Keepers members in Florida exchanged after Trump’s tweet on Dec. 19, 2020, about a “big protest” at the upcoming joint session of Congress on Jan. 6. “Be there, will be wild!” Trump said.

“He wants us to make it WILD,” Kelly Meggs, an Oath Keepers leader from Dunnellon, Florida, wrote in a message to other group members. “He called us all to the Capitol and wants us to make it wild!!! Sir Yes Sir!!!”

The bottom line is that Pelosi and the mayor of D.C. made a mistake. They should have taken Trump up on his offer for National Guard troops. But it was dishonest for Pelosi to try and shift the blame to Trump.
The bottom line is that the only person who could make decisions involving the DC national guard is Trump and trying to deflect responsibility by blaming the Democrats is right out of his playbook.

Actually no, Trump offered the troops and Pelosi didn't want them. On that day she took responsibility--in front of her daughter. It was a Democrat effort to pretend Trump led an insurrection to take over the country.

It doesn't matter if the Speaker of the House didn't want them or not. The sole authority to deploy the DC National Guard rests with the President of the United States. Not to mention that the Capitol Police, which would have been the actual body to request National Guard troops on behalf of Congress, is made up of three people, only one of which reports to the Speaker. So even assuming that a formal request was required from Congress, which it wasn't, the Speaker still wouldn't be to blaim.

Trump did not offer 10,000 to Pelosi nor does she have authority over the National Guard. And why do you leave out McConnell? bias, maybe?
There are TWO Sergeant of Arms for the Capitol - a House one and a Senate one..

And the mayor is concerned about the city and the traffic. She had no authority or intel regarding the Capitol itself. THAT is where the problem was.

False. There was nothing to blame him for, he offered National Guard troops and told people to act peacefully and patriotically. Once again fabricated charges against Trump because he dares to take on the wealthy elite establishment.
