CNN This is the dangerous Venezuelan gang infiltrating the US that you probably know nothing about but should

Now, US Customs and Border Protection and the FBI say the gang is established in the US.

“They have followed the migration paths across South America to other countries and have set up criminal groups throughout South America as they follow those paths, and that they appear to follow the migration north to the United States,” Britton Boyd, an FBI special agent in El Paso, Texas, told CNN said.

US Border Patrol chief Jason Owens, who has confirmed multiple arrests at the southern border of alleged Tren de Aragua members over the last year, issued a warning in early April. “Watch out for this gang. It is the most powerful in Venezuela, known for murder, drug trafficking, sex crimes, extortion, & other violent acts,” Owens said on X.

The Mexican cartels have thrived under the Biden border policies, and human trafficking is their big money maker. It was only a matter of time for other gangs to get established in the United States. I don't understand why any moral person would support the current border policies that make crime so easy.

At least the citizens in Venezuela are getting a break from violent crime:

Violent crime is dropping fast in the U.S. — even if Americans don't believe it

Under Donald:
"The number of murders across the country surged by nearly 30% between 2019 and 2020, according to FBI statistics. The overall violent crime rate, which includes murder, assault, robbery and rape, inched up around 5% in the same period."

Under Joe:
"The national picture shows that murder is falling. We have data from over 200 cities showing a 12.2% decline ... in 2023 relative to 2022," Asher said, citing his own analysis of public data. He found instances of rape, robbery and aggravated assault were all down too."

This is a big problem with the current immigration policy of not vetting immigrants.
"Sources familiar with the operation said the individuals had been vetted by law enforcement upon entering the U.S., and there was no indication that they had ties to ISIS at the time. Law enforcement subsequently became concerned with their presence in the U.S. and took action, the officials said.
A senior Department of Homeland Security official tells CBS News the eight migrants arrested by ICE crossed the U.S. southern border without proper documents and were subsequently released into the U.S. with notices to appear in immigration court."

They do a token vetting for many that stop, but obviously that is far from enough. So many on the left just brush it off. And think of all who pay the cartels a little more money to be the "gotaways." I truly don't understand the mindset of so many Democrats that just go along with this.

Yes, token vetting then catch and release. I am glad Congress is working to end it.

There have always been some in the Congress who wish to solve the problem but I think close to half do not. At this moment it's really up to the president.

There have always been some in the Congress but they are in the minority. It's up to the president.
I disagree. It's up to Congress to do what is right for the American people. The President just signs the bill. Too much trying to make the other party look bad.

No, it's up to Congress. It's their constitutional duty, not the President's.
It is close to an even split in regard to the number of those in Congress who seriously and sincerely wish to stop the border disaster. H.R. 2 was passed in the House over a year ago but the Democrats in the Senate, and they are joined by some "Republicans," won't let it pass. Current federal law gives the executive branch authority to restrict the entry of immigrants at ports of entry. On a practical basis it's up to the president, if Biden rescinded his border executive orders made in his first one hundred days the problems would be GREATLY reduced. Joe flat out refuses to do so.
It's like classification and declassification, Congress passes laws that leaves the vast majority of decisions on classification/declassification up to the Executive Branch. So you are correct ultimately Congress has responsibilities under the Constitution, but they delegate certain powers to the president. When a president shows such contempt for the law impeachment or a new election are the solutions.

Oh no, you can see what happened after Joe's border orders in his first hundred days. Yes Joe has tried to blame inflation and the border on Trump. For example, Joe claimed inflation was at 9% when he took office. That is not true.

Why the scare-quote for Republicans here?

When did catch and release start?
One thing is clear: Cartels and human traffickers are well aware of the Biden administration’s true agenda. They will continue to make billions from bringing millions more economic migrants—including families and young children—to the border, while harming them along the way.
Sadly, the administration remains committed to unlimited illegal immigration, and it is clearly using sleight of hand and administrative abuse to achieve it. Meanwhile, the White House threatens that “unless Congress comes together in a bipartisan way to address our broken immigration and asylum system,” which is code for mass amnesty, this deliberate chaos will continue.

I have a problem with the abuse of both parties' use of Executive Orders because we have a Congress that can't work together to solve problems. I won't fault ol Joe for making a mistake because I do it too occasionally when remembering something. I've said it before, those old tractors need to retire.

There was no mistake. The numerous executive orders and policies, the lies about the border being safe, secure, and closed, keeping the press away from the border for so long, and deliberately flying in immigrants secretly were all DELIBERATE policies. Women and children are being trafficked at unprecedented numbers and fentanyl is flowing into our country. Joe and the Democrats who set the policies have been made aware of this but won't budge.

I meant the 9% inflation comment.
