A good book, if anyone is interested, is The Real Abraham Lincoln by Thomas DiLorenzo. Many solid sources cited throughout this book and I could not recommend any other written work more than this as a primer, if not more than a primer, for learning about Abraham Lincoln.
I grew up believing Lincoln was a hero and in the myth of a Confederacy of evil. It was not until I studied the political rhetoric of the time and numerous primary sources that I realized the truth -- Lincoln was a tyrant that lead a War of Northern Aggression. In short, as a very skeptical individual who desires primary sources, I cannot stress enough how excellent this book is.
