Samuel Alito’s Wife, Martha-Ann, Goes Full MAGA in Secret Recording

The audio was posted hours after similarly shocking comments by the Supreme Court justice were published.

Martha-Ann Alito, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, complained about the Pride flag, ranted about “feminazis,” and explained a flag design that she has been creating in her head in anticipation of when her husband is “free of this nonsense,” according to undercover audio released by a journalist and documentary filmmaker Monday on X.

“I want a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag, because I have to look across the lagoon at the Pride flag for the next month,” Alito griped at one point.

Alito’s comments were recorded undercover June 3 at the Supreme Court Historical Society’s annual dinner by Lauren Windsor, who was playing the role of a conservative activist.

Just hours earlier on Monday, Windsor posted another secretly recorded conversation she had had at the dinner with Alito’s husband. That audio was obtained and published by Rolling Stone. In his comments, the embattled jurist described “fundamental” differences between the left and right-wing that “can’t be compromised,” and expressed a desire to “return our country to a place of godliness.”

Shortly after the tape of Samuel Alito was posted, Windsor promised, “We aren’t done breaking news just yet…” That vow was fulfilled Monday night, with Windsor posting audio of Martha-Ann “unfurled.” According to the tape, Alito addressed the controversy over Jan. 6-linked flags spotted at her and her husband’s homes in Virginia and New Jersey, for which Samuel Alito said his wife was responsible.

“The feminazis believe that he should control me,” Alito said. “So they’ll go to hell. He never controls me.”

Toward the end of the six-minute recording, Alito circled back to the subject.

After stating her need for a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag, Alito described her husband’s reaction.

“He’s like, ‘Oh please don’t put up a flag.’ I said, ‘I won’t do it because I’m deferring to you. But when you are free of this nonsense, I’m putting it up and I’m going to send them a message every day. Maybe every week, I’ll be changing the flags.”

Alito then divulged to Windsor that she’s actually been spending her time creating flag designs in her head.

“They’ll be all kinds. I made a flag in my head. This is how I satisfy myself,” she continued. “It’s white and it has yellow and orange flames around it, and in the middle in the word ‘Vergogna.’”

That Italian word, she explained, means shame.

After Windsor, who said in character that she was upset by the attention that “the media” has devoted to the significance of the flags and whether Samuel Alito ought to recuse himself from Jan. 6-related cases, Alito gave her some advice.

“Don’t get angry,” she said. “Get even.”

A bit later, when Windsor lamented how “they’re persecuting you, and you’re like a convenient stand-in for anybody who is religious,” Alito reiterated her aforementioned mantra.

“Look at me. I’m German, from Germany. My heritage is German. You come after me, I’m going to give it back to you. And there will be a way—it doesn’t have to be now—but there will be a way they will know.
Don’t worry about it,” she said, before quoting the Bible.

“Psalm 27 is my psalm,” she told Windsor. “‘The Lord is my God and my rock. Of whom shall I be afraid?’ Nobody.”

Alito, when Windsor recalled the conversation she had just had with her husband, emphatically agreed with the statement that there is “no negotiating with the radical left.”

“They feel,” she said. “They don’t think.”

Well she sounds delightful.

But I’m not going to give much credence to this until the full tape is released. This was basically the same as a James Okeefe op.

We should pray for her, that she may come to her senses and use discernment. God gave us a warning in Psalm 10:2-7 about wicked men, and if Mrs. Alito is a Christian, she might want to not side with any politician in 2024 (as Trump is a felon, and Biden is a guy who is not pro-life, and supports gender bending stuff). Martha-Ann Alito might want to read other psalms besides Psalm 27, and go for Psalm 10.

I agree with you, we should wait for the whole audio file to be released. But yeah, Mrs. Alito is treading on dangerous waters as a Christian. Politics and faith should ideally be separated.

Faith informs our political outlook in many ways.

When you look at it varying faith groups they really do largely vote in specific ways, or with specific ideals at the forefront of their political concerns, and the same thing in the opposite direction as well. Those who profess a lack of faith likewise in politics focuses on what drives their moral compass.

I do believe there's a good middle Christians should take politically on certain issues... But my understanding of Scripture is what informs that, on other issues I would go much stricter than many in society would go, and that's just informed by common sense.

But yeah, try as we might to separate it we get our sense of morality from our faith and that's not a bad thing. It's certainly not something to pretend doesn't or shouldn't exist... Faith is the bedrock of any free society.

While her statements are rather petty and somewhat abrasive & unproductive, what does this have to do with "Going full MAGA"?

And what exactly is "Full MAGA"? (as opposed to half-MAGA, or maybe just smidgeon of MAGA)

I assume that was just the DailyBeast's way of perhaps using an emotional ploy to double down and get people on their side before they'd even read the statements she made? (attaching anything that goes against the progressive platform to Trump to give people a reason to pounce on it?)

If putting up a flag or political signage in your yard, and venting/ranting about political opponents during dinner after a couple of cocktails when you assume you're among likeminded individuals is going "Full MAGA", then I would assume about 80% of the country is "Full MAGA".

This lady's whole personality is flags, it sounds like. She "made a flag in her head" and is talking about it .....it just sounds a bit weird, no matter her political or religious positions.

The advancement of AI deep fakes leaves "secret recordings" more questionable than ever.
It certainly gives the accused and their supporters a ready-made excuse to dismiss accusations. :)

I personally don't care about Mrs. Alito's views as long as she's not involved in rulings or organizations that deal more directly with her husband and the USSC like Mrs. Thomas. Mr. Alito's views are a bit more concerning, but I haven't decided yet if just having these views is enough to really call for his recusal or impeachment. Even as a member of the court he has free-speech rights. Arguments would just have to be made on a case-by-case basis for recusal, but I don't know how it could be enforced.

The knowledge certainly puts an asterisk next to all of his opinions and rulings.

A smear campaign implies one is set up to make it appear as if they're making these problematic comments. So far, all that's happened is they've given the man rope and he continues to allow his wife to hang him with it.

And we all want to see that MAGA judge hang and be replaced with a much more liberal judge.

I'd like to see biased judges with agendas replaced with impartial judges. If he wants to be MAGA, or his wife wants to be MAGA, whatever. If he can put that all to the side and make impartial rulings devoid of political agenda, then super.

However, it seems he cannot.

Or maybe one less overtly partisan and political and more concerned with the actual laws, decisions and precedents.

I am more conservative than my wife, and have a somewhat different political philosophy.

I do not speak for my wife, and she does not speak for me.

Sounds like Alito's wife is much more radical than he is, and likes to be antagonistic, and a bit extreme. That has nothing to do with how Samuel conducts himself on the court, determines rulings, etc.

The political left can't get the rulings it wants, so it has been looking into gifts to Clarence Thomas, decorations on the Alito house, and now are secretly recording justices. Do they imagine that they are going to somehow get justices they don't like thrown off the court?

good luck with that

Well, I don't think we need to start that leg of the conversation until she denies actually having said it.

We can't just start dismissing everything as "deep fake".

As someone who works in the AI space and understands how a lot of it works, the odds of someone even being able to make a convincing recording of Alito's wife via AI tools (that are currently available) would slim and none.

AI voice models require deep learning and a large dataset in order to generate. The reason people have been able to do it for some famous voices (like former presidents, famous musicians, actors, etc...) is because there are hours and hours and hours of recordings you can feed to the learning model, and tons of written transcripts that can be fed to it in conjunction in order to train/process it and allow it to learn verbiage preferences, speaking style, speaking cadence, pitch, pauses...all of that stuff.

So while a novice/intermediate tech user could probably find some tool that would allow them to generate a convincing AI-made audio file of well-known names that have a lot of recordings "on-file"... like making one of Richard Nixon singing a Tupac song... that doesn't mean it's as simple as typing in "Make me an audio file of my neighbor Steve Williams at 123 main street saying that he likes to eat puppies, here's some cell phone audio I recorded of him telling me what he had for lunch yesterday.... GO!"

Perhaps it'll get to that point some day, but it's not there yet (where you could simply feed a tool 10 seconds of some unknown person's voice, and have it spit out anything remotely convincing).

Agreed. I might sadly have to go with Biden, but if he pulls one more woke thing between now and November, the I am gonna vote 3rd party, or for Liz Cheney.
