Hours after former president and presumptive Republican 2024 presidential nominee Donald Trump was convictedThursday on 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up a sex scandal that threatened his 2016 presidential campaign, megachurch pastor Mark Driscoll pleaded on social media for Jesus to return before Election Day.

"Lord Jesus we would humbly request that you return before November 5," wrote Driscoll, founding pastor of Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona, in a post on X.

While many conservative Christians see Trump as the answer to America's challenges, earlier this month, Driscoll made it clear in a post on Instagram that he doesn't believe trusting in politicians should be seen as the answer for Christians.

I have prayed many, many, many times over the last 30+ years for the Lord Jesus to return. I know that Christ will answer the prayer with His return upon the day which has already been appointed and determined by the Lord God Almighty.

Amen!

God’s will be done!

Come, Lord Jesus!

People need to get over themselves and whatever "Civil War" proclivities they have. I don't think Jesus is smiling on that sort of thinking, especially if and when it's promulgated in His Name.

Sigh.

I'm sorry to say, but when things get bad for Americans, Americans get all eschatological. As an American, I can say that. Honestly, it strikes me as selfish. Nations rise and nations fall, and the fall of a particular nation does not necessarily mean the end times are near. I saw America go eschatological in the 1970s when the country's fortunes reversed, and here we go again.

I don't want to see another civil war, either. Yet asking for Christ's return before the US elections strikes me as asking to be spared a harvest of the seeds planted of thumbing noses at God. Far better to pray for repentance and that each American would turn from wickedness.

Actually, I wasn't commenting on Driscoll but merely the fact that there are those in our society who talk and think as if "civil war" is some live option.

As for Driscoll, who knows when the Lord will return? Suggestion November because people in one little nation might fight with a few others seems a bit on the sensationalistic side.

Is Mark Driscoll not an abusive, manipulative jerk anymore?

The fact he's still in ministry shows how some people will fall for the religious charlatan over and over.

Guys, I used to listen to him in May 2024, but my parents told me that Mark Driscoll is not the best pastor to listen to. I prefer my local church's pastor/priest, as he is down to earth, and is not a control freak.

Mark Driscoll’s church (Mars Hill) uses surveillance on anyone who does not agree with his teachings. He has cussed out his staff members using profanity, as well as calling security out on anyone who disagrees with the conduct of the Driscoll family run church. In 2012, using the analogy of a bus for his church, Mark Driscoll used a threatening message “There is a pile of bodies behind the Mars Hill [church] bus”. So, in other words, the hypocrisy of Mark Driscoll is evident. Pastor Driscoll mandates loyalty of his congregation, or else he threatens his people.

Mark Driscoll is not at the Mars Hill Church any longer. In 2017, he and his wife planted Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona as a family ministry. I believe that he has changed significantly since being forced out at the Mars Hill Church there in the Seattle, Washington area.

That is true, with everything it seems. The article that I posted is from 2021. I pray that Mark Driscoll has changed his ways for the better in 2024. I still stay away from him, but I am glad that he rebuked a guy named Lindell.

In April 2024, a Christian men’s conference at James River Church in Missouri entered public notoriety when megachurch pastor John Lindell invited a sword-swallower (a former Las Vegas strip club performer) to perform an acrobatic stunt on a tall beam in front of thousands, sparking outrage. Pastor Mark Driscoll spoke out when he quoted that the Jezebel spirit had entered the church: "Before the Word of God was open, there was a platform. It was a high place. On it was a pole, an ashera, the same thing that's used in a strip club by women who have the Jezebel spirit to seduce men. And in front of that was a man who ripped his shirt off like a woman does in front of a pole at a strip club".

In other words, Mark Driscoll spoke the truth, in front of the congregation, which pastor Lindell fought back with a perversion of scripture. Lindell misquoted Matthew 18, saying that Driscoll should have spoken privately. However, 1 Timothy 5:20 clearly states that to protect the church, it may be necessary to speak out when a wrongdoing has been committed by those who sin in front of a congregation. Remember, rebuking sin is necessary sometimes, in order to protect the sanctity of the church.
