  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Instead of defunding the police, we should defund climate alarmism. Florida gets it.

Is it "alarmism" to report the observable effects of climate change?

Examples:

Miami, where seas have risen six inches since 2010, offers a high-profile example of a predicament that parts of the southeast Atlantic and Gulf coasts are confronting — and one scientists say will become only more pervasive — as waters continue to rise.

or

When a meteorologists resports on 100 degree ocean water off the coast of Florida last summer?
And educates the public on the effects thereof?

Yes, I would say "100 degree ocean water off the coast of Florida" qualifies as climate alarmism.

It’s alarmism when you blame it on something man has done.
We know the anthropogenic factors that are the leading contributors to climate change. This is knowledge.

You need to source that graph or delete it.
He sourced it to Wikipedia. Further sourcing takes one to
  • Mann, Michael E.; Bradley, Raymond S.; Hughes, Malcolm K. (1999), "Northern hemisphere temperatures during the past millennium: Inferences, uncertainties, and limitations", Geophysical Research Letters, 26 (6): 759–762, Bibcode:1999GeoRL..26..759M, doi:10.1029/1999GL900070.
I couldn't find the article online, just the Abstract.

Why is that so important? Why must man not have had anything to do with it?
Since we (human beings) aren’t responsible for the climate shifting (as it might seem to be) then we need not concern ourselves with trying to take steps and institute policies that might mitigate these apparent changes.
Pumping megatons of carbon-dioxide into the atmosphere is therefore “okay”.

If man isn’t the cause, there’s no reason to try to change anything. We should just enjoy the better plant life.

Climate change would be a good issue for Democrats to exploit.

Homeowners' insurance policies in Florida have gone up 68% in two years.

Florida

Home insurance prices are increasing faster in Florida than any other state. On average, premiums in the Sunshine State are up 35% compared to a year ago, according to our analysis. And when comparing the average original premium on policies quoted for renewal between May 2021 and May 2022 to the average quoted premium on policies that were quoted for renewal between May 2022 and May 2023, we found that home insurance prices in Florida were up an average of 68% over two years. https://www.policygenius.com/homeow...rida,to a year ago, according to our analysis.
I have heard it's not uncommon for Floridians to pay $1,000 a month for homeowners' insurance.

Politicians who hit taxpayers in the pocketbook generally hit hard on Election Day. Hopefully voters and citizens will let DeSantis know that they are fed up with unaffordable insurance and annual devastating hurricanes because he is anti-science.

Melting the icecaps and returning Florida to its preferred status as a reef.
The Climate religion has now replaced the apocalyptic religions in failed predictions for the earth's demise.

And every other plant.
If every other plant is already using the all of the CO2 that they are able to utilize, wouldn’t that be why the atmospheric CO2 level keeps rising?
