Yes, this is true. Every person should be prepared to change their world view if the facts don't match it. This is why, even though believing the earth to be spherical, I set about testing my world view against the evidence. I was prepared to pursue the evidence wherever it led, even if that meant it led to a flat earth. But, the more I tested the evidence, the more the spherical earth was reaffirmed.
