I once asked a monk how those in heaven will be able to deal with having lost so many to hell, including those whom we may have loved personally. His response was that they will be forgotten to us. We will have no recollection of them at all - we won't care about them.

I think he was right, because Matthew 7:23. And how can we know more than God?
"I never knew you." is certainly rhetorical. God created and knows all. The monks answer is very egoistic and self centered. We are all created for unity,

To be clear i don-t hate anyone, but i don-t buy into gender ideology and it being propagated and taught specially on kids, and religious freedom is being attacked just by having different opinion, this people are basically saying that preaching is hate speech, because christians are preaching you need to repent from sin. Crazy you can-t see my perspective, and i am being tilded as hateful.

It's false accusations intended to stop all conversation and inquiry into your point of view.

I posted a link earlier to a study done of parents who have a rapid onset gender dysphoric child.

It was a fully funded scientific research paper written by a person with a PHD in psychology who is also a professor at his university.

The trans activists didn't like the conclusions and threw an all out fit until the scientific journal who had originally published the paper retracted it.

Here's the paper: RETRACTED ARTICLE: Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria: Parent Reports on 1655 Possible Cases - Archives of Sexual Behavior

The activists are hammering this one to the wall and trying to make it stick.

The problem, is they are hurting children doing this and so as Christians, as citizens, just as human beings we have to say absolutely no.

There is a point in the below video where profanity is used but the below video is very informative to watch.

We need to be concerned, for real.

So, there will be sorrow and pain in heaven? There will be the remembrance of sin? And there will be a desire that exists to pull souls out of hell, and bring them into heaven to be reunified?

...That last sentence has almost a Luciferian kind of rebellious feel to it, but would be inevitable if that knowledge were to exist in such a setting.

In my reasoning the monk may be right. In Ecclesiastes 9:5 it says even the memory of the dead is forgotten. I don't think the monk referenced Matthew, but the poster did. I reckon it's something to contemplate in an offhand way. We all tend to daydream about what it might be like for us in heaven. I just know in my heart it won't be bad. I'm not sure I'll see my ex wife so that could be a plus lol.

Not me, of course! Just to return to the topic for a moment - some questions for those who do daydream about heaven. How do transgender people get on there? Will they be allowed in? Will they still be transgender? Will it matter quite so much there?

So, effectively, no rememberance of things past. No sweet sorrows.

What a truly awful concept.

Not "truly". How can you be sure that our experience here isn't similar to the upper realms of hell already. And that an experience there is so blissful, that to think back would be something similar to having a nightmare? Or worse?

Depends. Would you say that transgenderism is a kind of Vanity - people being overly concerned about their appearance (clothing, complexion, etc.)? If so, then that's a kind of flaw, that would be beneath the Saints in heaven.

I have no idea what heaven would be like, but if it's possible to forget about lost loved ones, then isn't it also possible that we could entirely forget about the concept of genders... about gay, or straight, or trans, or whatever. After all, if there's no such thing as marriage in heaven, then what makes people think that genders will even be a thing in heaven?

It's the only experience we have. Compared to it, your concept of heaven sounds like hell.

Lucky I'm not going.

Of course you're going! I'm not going without you, Brad!

@Bradskii, you know that loved one that I'm not going to heaven without... I've got room for another name on that list... not that you'll need it, but it's a good thing to know anyway.

This is a spooky song about someone who dies with another person.

"All I know, I could not leave her there"

~Then~

"One pane of glass in the window, faded is the crimson, from the ribbons that she wore, and it's strange how no one comes round, anymore"

~he doesn't seem to know that he's dead~

We need to be concerned, for real.
Ten seconds of research found this:

The authors acknowledge that the framing of the survey is biased toward belief in, and concern about, ROGD. This may have influenced responses, although it is likely that a more important bias was self-selection due to the website’s name and purpose. The initial purpose of the survey was not for scientific publication, but information gathering for a community of parents with shared concerns. In the Discussion, we consider which results are more or less likely to be biased.

Kind of sad that my Nan (a devout Christian) no longer remembers her husband, daughter and grand children while existing for eternity in Heaven.

How do you know that every person doesn't have a deathbed conversion, aside from the harshest, most hardened people? In that case, your Nan remembers all those people.

Jesus Himself, being merciful, and powerful, could appear to people seconds before death. He could even stop time, and have a long lasting conversation with any soul he wishes to save.

And if he has the time to judge every person, why wouldn't he also spend the time to personally introduce himself, and convert thousands more souls?

My granddad was a life long atheist, my mum is gay and my sister is Buddhist. Mine and my sisters kids are not Christian and have no cultural foundation in Christianity.

On balance what do you think? What you are suggesting is Pascal’s wager which is a flawed premise.
