  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have no problem with employers hiring and firing in the best interest of the company. But that's not the full extent of the problem, when we see politicians engineering new social laws. For instance, should a Christian parent lose custody of their child for misgenderimg them with the wrong pronoun?

"in 2021, Indiana officials began investigating the Coxes after a report found they were not referring to their child by his preferred gender identity, removing the teen from their custody and placing him in a “gender-affirming” home."
Not for that, no. It does appear, however, that relations had broken down in that family. There is the issue of the eating disorder for a start.

It is always difficult to draw conclusions from the reporting of a case in the press, so I won't comment beyond that. Do you know the result of the case, or any other, similar, examples?
Quite frankly, I think of transgenderism as a slap in the face to God. Enough is enough. Men are men. Women are women. Our species is binary.
You are entitled to those opinions of course. In your country (and mine) other views are permitted.

Class interests unite far more of us than the political and donor classes would have you believe. That’s what my original post alludes to. Sure, we may be truly split on these wedge issues, but it is a concerted effort by those in power to keep those issues at the forefront of the discourse.
Completely agree. There are so many more important things people should be fighting for than demonising certain folks.

You’re right. That’s just my opinion.

That's it's not our life that other people are living. It's theirs.
You’re right. Ultimately they will have to answer to God for the loot choices they made. Not me or anyone else.

I’m willing to bet the sensational headlines reporting these instances are missing important context. It’s not a simple “you’re not allowed to say these things because the mustache-twirling elites don’t want any opposition to their authority.” It’s probably more like “People are being penalized for sharing dangerous misinformation that influences individual health decisions on a scale that impacts public health as a whole.”

Not in America.

I was just posting crime statistics during the 2019-2020 election season, complete with links to the FBI's official government website where they post statistics.

That's what the Facebook police, likely at government behest because it was during that period, came after me telling me they would ban me for life if I tried posting the data again.

All because I was talking about crime using the FBI's website in support of something Trump had said.

Freedom of speech is getting non existent unless you're face to face. They actively censor any unapproved thoughts.

Might I suggest that the removal of the Bible and prayer from public schools, teaching of evolution over creationism, prohibition of posting the ten commandments or Christmas nativity scenes on public property, support of abortion, and LGBT movement are all part of the spiritual warfare Satan is enacting upon America and the world
You can suggest it but I don't buy it. We live in a pluralist society where we cannot expect everyone to share our views and comply with them or teach them. But to see it as a "war" is the wrong attitude, a victimization. The real war for all of us is within ourselves. Don't distract from it by projecting our own personal moral struggles on to others. Satan would like for you to think your views are perfect and you are better than others and must defeat them.

Again, it looks like important context is missing here. Were you using specific statistics in an effort to support a racism-related argument on a Facebook debate during a time of heightened racial tensions and increased public scrutiny on the role of social media in public discourse? Or were you merely copy-pasting FBI data on a politically sterile page for numbers enthusiasts?

I suppose the answer to that depends on the reader now huh...

When FBI'S data numbers are racist that's the day I check out of society.

Do what you will. It sounds like I have my answer, which doesn’t support your complaint.

I don't even know what the question was... So I'm glad you got whatever answers you wanted, confirmation bias works wonders doesn't it?

I grow up in a small school, it was about 1982.
I was referring to when we used the original godless pledge and national motto.

That's it's not our life that other people are living. It's theirs.

And it's our job to care what happens to real people.

God made us to care. I don't know why. It would be nice if we could just not care at all.

But instead, our hearts break for others.

Personally, I have no qualms with transgender individuals seeking compassion and equal treatment as the fellow human beings, like the rest of us, that they are.

However, if they're going to make some political waves, I prefer they not do so by riding in on a Marxist or Communist surfboard, just like I don't expect Christians to come floating in with a Theonomic Life-Jacket.

I asked about the context of your deleted post, and your answer was vague, suggesting you didn’t want to offer specifics. I took it to mean that my first guess was correct. Call it confirmation bias, or call it good intuition. I’m not seeing denial.

I imagine they wouldn’t need to if other movements weren’t openly hostile to them.

Unfortunately, I'm not sold on the idea that political revolution is actually all that effective in the long-run.
