So do I. But it is based upon the strength of our relationship with God. John tells us the following.

John 17: 1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Just knowing God personally is the only way to be saved. It goes right along with Paul's statements in Galatians. Since just knowing God saves us it means we play no part in our salvation other than choosing to get to know Him personally.
We obey the Lord and his apostles. I say this all the time. We don't follow Moses though. We are the church and we follow what came before Moses. We follow Christ.

This is what I see. It's not addressed to you necessarily

We find rest in the throne of grace as Hebrews 4 says. This is for forgiveness and help. We endure Gods chastening as well just as Hebrews also says. James said to ask God for wisdom. The truth is right here in front of our eyes, but can we hear and see properly? When we fail to find wisdom and understanding in the Lord, and when we don't follow the Lord and his apostles, we are not obeying the whole word of God. We live by every word he spoke. This doesn't necessarily mean we obey everything he spoke. Do we sacrifice animals or get circumcised? No. You know this is true. We do however live by every word he spoke. He sent apostles to guide us. Dont refuse his voice as scripture says. I tell you the truth is in the scriptures but we must seek the Lord to open our eyes. Jesus said that many prophets and righteousness men desired to see what we see but didn't see it. My advise is this, dont turn your ear away from Him. Jesus said let him who has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Why did he say that?

Hebrews 12:25 See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, [i]much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.

Colossians 2:1 I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. 2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. 5 For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

Spiritual Fullness in Christ

6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces[a] of this world rather than on Christ.
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. 11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh[b] was put off when you were circumcised by[c] Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you[d] alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.[e]

Freedom From Human Rules

16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. 19 They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
20 Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: 21 “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? 22 These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. 23 Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

Hebrews 12:25 See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, [i]much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.
Hebrews 4:1Therefore, we must fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also did; but the word [a]they heard did not benefit them, because [b]they were not united with those who listened with faith. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,
“As I swore in My anger,
They certainly shall not enter My rest,”
although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this passage, “They certainly shall not enter My rest.” 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 He again sets a certain day, “Today,” saying [c]through David after so long a time just as has been said before,
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if [d]Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9 Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to [e]judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom [f]we must answer.
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.

The Pharisees followed Moses. But when Jesus came they didn't see or know him. Moses wished he could could have seen what was promised. Jesus said many righteousness men and Prophets desired to see it. Paul counted everything as rubbish that he could know Christ. He gave up his obedience to the law of Moses. Yes he did. He knew that it was disobedience not to. He didn't teach the law of Moses. Jesus was leading them out of the law into the better promise.

Where do you come up with that? Paul was a Jew. He gave up on his Pharisaical background. He accepted faith in Jesus as his Savior.

Phillipians 2: 4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

Is Moses law really God's will? Is that what you see here?

Matthew 19:1 When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan. 2 Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.

3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”

4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

I have come to the conclusion that those who proclaim their allegiance to old covenant laws will have a very difficult time ever believing the writings of Paul. We have presented them over and over and all we get is one excuse after another none of which demonstrates that anyone is still under the rituals or Torah.
Sabbath. Exo 20:10 Isa 58:13

On the Sabbath there is no secular work, if every day was the Sabbath than nothing would get done. That doesn't mean we don't worship God daily, but we do not spend 24/7 in holy time with God. God gives us 6 days to do all thy work and labors and only asks for one full day back dedicated completely on Him, the seventh day Exo 20:8-11.
Hi SB, You tell us we should FULLY dedicate one full day to Him. I have rubbed elbows with thousands of SDAs and have never found one that ever would meet your criteria. When is the last time you even come close to obeying Is58:13?

By the way, no one has said we are to keep every day as the Sabbath. Heb 4 is telling us that Jesus is the Sabbath and we can rest in Him today.

No. Paul grew up a Pharisee. Read Matthew 23 and Matt 15: 2-6, and Galatians 1: 13,14. You will see that Jesus condemned the traditions of the Pharisees and called them hypocrites. Paul also talks about their traditions and how he persecuted the church because of those traditions.

You will also find out that Steven was stoned because Pharisaical beliefs in Acts 7.

You have misread the word. Moses law is done with. We have what came in the beginning.

Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

How do we rest? Scripture says we rest from ours works and do God's works that he created for us to do. So that must be our rest, right? Do i understand correctly? What are those works? Jesus said God's work is to believe in the one God sent. That one God sent in where we find rest. We go to him and He gives us that rest. He gives us grace. I can't quite grasp it all but when the Hebrews are urged to enter that rest he points them to the throne of Grace. Is this just for forgiveness or for our weakness too? It's a lot to grasp.
Yes, our work is to "Believe" in Jesus. This work is Not literal but spiritual work.

So even Jesus calling the Pharisees hypocrites multiple times in one chapter and condemning their traditions as against the word of God isn't enough for you. I find that incredible as it seems to me your opinion is of more value to you than scripture..It would scare me to death if I did that.

We do good works as commanded, but are these the ones written on our heart or the ones that God created? It's true that it's God's will we do them but are they the same ones he created for us?

According to Jesus He is the Lord of the Sabbath i.e. Creator Mark 2:28 instead of being reduced to being the Sabbath i.e. a commandment

Perhaps Instead of being reduced to one day a week and not even the rest God gives which is in The Lord.

How do we rest?
Brother, happy Sabbath, starting this Friday, November 24, 2023 at 9:36 AM EST! We rest in two ways! First we rest by entering the true Biblical Sabbath as another "day" than thought since Joshua by correcting Judaism's wrong view of the start of the week day from human tradition in Hebrews. Second we rest from the prolong state of sin of the time consuming process of animal sacrifices before Jesus by going many times daily in prayer to Jesus to forgive our past sins much faster than was possible with the lengthy cycle of animal sacrifices. This faster cycle of many forgivenesses after Jesus allows us to deal with more sin than was possible before Jesus.
Scripture says we rest from ours works and do God's works that he created for us to do.
You are mixing two different rests! The first rest of not doing our own works is in reference to the "day" of rest in one of the Ten Commandments corrected as another "day" in the message of Hebrews. The second rest from Jesus is rest from a prolong state of sin by giving us a daily faster cycle of forgiveness as our High Priest through prayer from the heavenly temple than the animal sacrifices. A faster cycle for us to grow in mastery over sin by obeying the Eleven Commandments through practice. This daily faster cycle of many forgivenesses is different than the message of another "day" in Hebrews referring to the "day" in the Ten Commandments and not to the gain rest from a prolong state of sin thanks to the daily faster cycle of forgiveness from Jesus. This practice to obey the Eleven Commandments is not allowed by God's order by the prophets alone without the High Priestly daily forgivenesses of Jesus.
So that must be our rest, right?
There are two rests not to be confused with each other where the second is not a "day" like the message in Hebrews of another "day". The first is the seventh "day" of the first week in the Ten Commandments. The second is the daily faster cycle of many forgivenesses allowing us to grow daily out of more sin because its faster than with animal sacrifices by having Jesus as our High Priest. The Eleventh commandment of following Jesus as our model "Spirit" gives us rest from a prolong state of our slavery to sin not previously obtain with animal sacrifices to gain mastery over sin allowing us to obey more in the new total of Eleven Commandments as we are changed into Jesus' glorious image.
Do I understand correctly? What are those works? Jesus said God's work is to believe in the one God sent.
Human beings have said Jesus replaced His Ten Commandments with an Eleventh Commandment when Jesus asks us to obey "all" His Eleven Commandments in the following passage where, having answered with the previous Ten Commandments, Jesus adds "one more thing you haven't done", bringing the total after Him of Eleven Commandments. The following passage tells us that Jesus has given us an Eleventh Commandment with the phrase "one thing you haven't done", after answering the question with: you know "the commandments"! Jesus' answer makes the "one thing you haven't done" an additional Eleventh Commandment. Consistent with us knowing the additional Eleventh Commandment in the new covenant of following Jesus' example. Paul says, Jesus is our model "Spirit" to follow. We are not to follow Judaism's human system of "law" that sabotaged the Ten Commandments to not remove sin in the resulting sons of Hagar, instead of God's will that we be sons of Sarah obeying His previous Ten Commandments as well as the new Eleventh Commandment.

Once a religious leader asked Jesus this question: “Good Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “Only God is truly good. But to answer your question, you know the commandments (entolé): ‘You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother.’” The man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.” When Jesus heard his answer, he said, “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Luke 18:18-22 NLT)

The new Eleventh Commandment above is found in the following passage, where to do "just as I have" is to "follow" His example by keeping a total of Eleven Commandments when Jesus adds one more to the previous Ten Commandments, saying above: "there is still one thing you haven't done".

As soon as Judas left the room, Jesus said, “The time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory, and God will be glorified because of him. And since God receives glory because of the Son, he will give his own glory to the Son, and he will do so at once. Dear children, I will be with you only a little longer. And as I told the Jewish leaders, you will search for me, but you can’t come where I am going. So now I am giving you a new commandment (entolé): Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:31-35 NLT)
That one God sent in where we find rest. We go to him and He gives us that rest.
Jesus gives us rest from a prolong state of sin by giving us a daily faster cycle of forgiveness in the heavenly temple as our High Priest through prayer than the more time consuming animal sacrifices in the earthly temple.
He gives us grace.
Grace is mainly time to grow in mastery over sin through the practice of the Eleven Commandments allowed by Jesus' High Priestly forgivenesses when we pray to Him daily in the heavenly temple to forgive our past sins.
I can't quite grasp it all but when the Hebrews are urged to enter that rest he points them to the throne of Grace. Is this just for forgiveness or for our weakness too? It's a lot to grasp.
Jesus granting us many forgivenesses for past sins deals with the weakness of our slavery to sin. Grace in the following passage is time to grow to obey the Eleven Commandments where Jesus always lives to save completely those who come to God through Him.

Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. (Hebrews 7:23-26 NIV)

United in our hope for the soon return of Jesus, Jorge

Jesus gives us rest from a prolong state of sin by giving us a daily faster cycle of forgiveness in the heavenly temple as our High Priest through prayer than the more time consuming animal sacrifices in the earthly temple.

Grace is mainly time to grow in mastery over sin through the practice of the Eleven Commandments allowed by Jesus' High Priestly forgivenesses when we pray to Him daily in the heavenly temple to forgive our past sins.

We do good works as commanded, but are these the ones written on our heart or the ones that God created? It's true that it's God's will we do them but are they the same ones he created for us?
Hi, agree, we do good works as commanded, but our good work is the result of the work by His Spirit in our hearts. So, whether is written in our hearts or commanded for us is All God's Work.
