Show us the map.
He's forgotten his secret handshake to get access to the keys which open the secret vault where they keep the map safeguarded from ridicule. As long as no one else can see it to debunk it, they can keep claiming a genuine flat earth map exists. Only true believers get to see it though.

The Santiago via LA flight path makes perfect sense on the only flat earth map we've ever been presented with, but the flight times and distances cannot work, and one would have to be monumentally retarded to insist they do.

I would have preferred to have been given the map to avoid any doubt about its authenticity but I can't see that happening. So...here's The one from the Flat Earth Society ('A very common map created by our Society for use in online materials.'): Maps :: concrete5

So when I looked out the window on my trip to Santiago, how come I couldn't see the US beneath me?

You must have taken the great circle route

Maybe someone can explain how a direct flight to LA from Sydney takes 2 hours longer than a direct one to Santiago. Maybe Qantas uses slower planes when flying to the US.

No because the rim is protected by 12 million polar bears who"s job it is is to stop people from going over the edge.
But that would mean we are surrounded by ice.

He was being facetious. There are no polar bears in Antarctica. The penguins on the other hand...

There are! They are known as guardians of the 'Edge'. A role handed down through generations of unique Polar bears. Its all hush hush!

I hear a lot of Christians saying that we live on a flat earth and nobody can go in or out the earth. Is the Bible clear on this subject?
The Bible says nothing of thr sorr. The earth is an oblate sphereoid.

Some guy talking about your debunked coriolus affect. Not interested. And incidentally, the guy said at 5:40 (yeah, I wasted 8 minutes of my life watching it) that there is no GPS signals mid ocean. That is simply wrong. You can even use the Google Earth app on your phone to see where you are on any trans oceanic flight. And I honestly did this two days ago on a flight across the South China Sea coming back to Australia after a holiday. So that two apps on your mobile that show you're wrong.

But we're talking about flight time to Santiago. And how your route (via LA) is nonsensically wrong.

Show us the map.

Let him chart it on his own map if he made the flight.
The flight paths are freely viewable through any number of flight tracking websites. I've flown Sydney to L.A. multiple times and can confirm the duration of those flights. Your map, on the other hand, doesn't exist

We did, earlier. Twice. Posts 918 and 926. They were taken from the app FlightRadar. The app that your web site said we should use. You can confirm it yourself. Get a globe and draw a line from Sydney to Santiago. It crosses nothing but ocean. It goes nowhere near the US. Trust me, I had a window seat. You can see the route I took (and the route you think I took) here: Sydney-Santiago Flight Route

While you are puzzling that out, take a look at the shape of Australia on the Flat earth map. It's about 5 times wider east to west than it is north to south. Gee, if only we had someone in the forum from down there who had driven north to south and east to west across the continent. Then we could ask to check to see if it was correct.

While you try to think of someone to ask, I'll just let you know that the flight time from Melbourne (in the south) to Darwin (in the north) is about 4h 20m - it's 3,700km. And from Melbourne (in the east) to Perth (in the west) is about 4h 15m - it's 3,400km.

Why don't these things ever occur to you..?

Flat earthers steer away from 'real' science and reality when it comes to their beliefs.

The Sydney to Los Angeles flight is (as you well know) a flight from south of the Tropic of Capricorn to north of the Tropic of Cancer and is therefore outside the argument. Stick to flights between destinations south of the Tropic of Capricorn. Have you personally flown between Sydney and either Johannesburg, Buenos Aires, or Santiago?

Does anyone know, is it MOSTLY Christians who have fallen for the flat Earth fraud???
We have a small handful here but such a belief is exceptionally rare anywhere in the world. I doubt they are statistically significant even. So I doubt one could tell if it was more likely by a Christian. More common maybe by some isolated tribe in Borneo maybe.
