A ridiculous example of whataboutsim to defend a criminal.

I stopped at the point about it not having anything to do with the point being addressed.

You obviously don't see the connection, so it's not worth pursuing.

I'd like to know though why Mr Hovind is being referred to by his least common denominatior ("criminal"), when he did his time and is out now?

Okay if I refer to Mr Feynman as a "criminal" as well?

I have no idea what if anything he had to say about the geology of the earth. Kent Hovind on the other hand has said a lot of miss-information.

I'll say this much, when a Christian does time, it sticks with him forever.

But let a scientist or scientific organization do something -- even if it leads to death or disfigurement -- and everyone acts like Sergeant Schultz.

He probably made it up. Just Google “Kent Hovind controversy” and one a see what a despicable person he is.
Then there's Ron Wyatt of the "red sea chariots" etc,
and, Walt Brown, the hydroplate guy.

Regardless of time spent in jail, the Christian in the form of Kent Hovind continues to pass miss-information to a lot of people.

Then stop using the Internet.

It does the same thing.

Not to mention of course Chemie Grünenthal GmbH, BP, White Star Line, the IAU, NASA, and a few others.

It's not about stopping the use of the the Internet, it's about being selective of how it's used.

I see.

Well, I do the same with Mr Hovind.

That video astro posted -- he focused on the "spinning atom" remark, while I focused on his "don't call what you believe 'science,' and what we believe 'religion'" aspects.

In short, his science may be off somewhat, but his theology is good.

I suggest you look at the video if you haven’t, concentrate, and hopefully the penny will drop that whataboutism is a dumb way of conducting an argument which you do on a regular basis.

As far as Mr Hovind having served his time and should not be labelled a criminal that might be true, but in the legal world he is a convicted felon with a criminal record.
So lets say instead he has a criminal record and I challenge you to find the evidence of Richard Feynman having a criminal record.
You also put your foot in mouth by suggesting the Italian scientists were criminals over the earthquake with your whataboutism nonsense only to contradict yourself by admitting they were exonerated.

We’re way off topic. This has nothing to do with the age of the earth.
I think according to different scietists the earth has aged over 10 million years since this thread started.

So you are gullible enough to fall for a clickbait title.
There is absolutely no evidence of Feynman being jailed using Google or GPT3.

No, Richard Feynman was never jailed. Richard Feynman was a renowned American theoretical physicist known for his work in quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics, as well as for his contributions to the field of physics education. He received several prestigious awards during his lifetime, including the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965 for his work in quantum electrodynamics.

Feynman was a respected scientist and educator, and there is no record of him being involved in any criminal activities or being incarcerated at any point in his life. He passed away on February 15, 1988, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of physics and science education.
Feynman gives his own account where he states he was "kinda arrested".

Ditto for Richard Feynman, who spent some time behind bars?

He did? When, and under what circumstances?

Oh, wait!

He didn't critique science!

Nevermind.

If you think Richard Feynman didn't critique science, you've need to read both Feynman's own word AND the word of those who worked with him. Feynman was pretty famous for aggressively asserting his own novel conclusions in contrary to established theorems, and also for aggressively disagreeing with a lot of scientific conclusions from his peers (and then later changing his mind when better evidence came along and pretending he known the right thing all along).

Here's a write up of some of Feynman's idiosyncrasies and disagreements:

The earth is as old as God willed it to be when He created it.

Plus another six thousand years now.
