About 20 years ago, my dad and I accidentally used a lady's restroom at a movie theatre because the door was wide open and we thought it was unisex. Thankfully, no women were in there doing their business. It happens.

(I have no clue why on earth I remember that).

Lol ok...that makes sense at least. I couldn't imagine a scenario where one uses the wrong restroom unless you were in a foreign nation or something. Restrooms tend to be next to one another and even if the sign fell off one....the other is right there alongside it.

Kinda like those diagrams being passed around in Germany in the 1930s, showing how to identify a person of Jewish ancestry.

Kinda...except these would be based on real biological differences (not imaginary ones) and no one is rounding up men for execution.

It may seem like overkill but there's a large percentage of the population that doesn't know what a man or woman is despite being adults with supposedly functioning brains.

At my old workplace (yes, in Nebraska) all the restrooms were unisex. I don't think it ever created a problem, but you locked the door once you went in/just one person at a time.

That percentage rises to 36% for those whose schools deny them access to their preferred restrooms (this compares to 15% of cisgender girls and 4% of cisgender boys who report being sexually assaulted).

Apparently you're still missing the point. There is a common, yet secluded, area in many of these restrooms; where it would be inappropriate for a pervert to loiter. and wait for his pick of the lone women to walk in.

These are what I would call the "likely ramifications" of allowing biological men into spaces designed for biological women only.

Your concern for women is commendable. Do you have similar concerns for transgender people? Because 1% of over 27,700 transgender individuals surveyed in 2015 (that would be 277 people) reported being sexually assaulted in public restrooms just in that year. A further 1% were physically assaulted, and 12% were verbally harassed.

Do you have some actual crime statistics? Something from the DOJ and not a self-reported survey?

It's unfortunate, but trans activists tend to lie about the dangers they face for being trans. They lied about being murdered at abnormally high rates. They lied about "trans youth" suicide rates. It's unfortunate this particular group seems willing to openly lie about the "dangers" they face for the way they choose to live their lives....but a self reported survey of trans people at this point simply isn't worth much.

To be fair, this is another self-reported survey. If you have any actual crime data on the topic....I'm more than willing to consider it.

It seems to me that transgender people are more at risk for being assaulted when using the bathroom that corresponds to the gender they were assigned at birth than women are at risk from being assaulted by transgender people using the women's bathroom.

Well there's a difference between the consequences of one's actions and the consequences of someone else's actions.

If some guy dresses up like a girl and gets assaulted in the men's room....that's definitely a crime and he should report this to the police. That way, we can find out how many of these crimes are actually happening. He doesn't get to put all women in danger because he wants to wear women's clothes and lipstick.

These self surveys are notoriously bad at creating accurate data. I'm reminded of the "campus rape crisis" of a decade ago where college girls were claiming to be raped more often than female refugees fleeing war zones.
