Nebraska’s Republican Gov. Jim Pillen on Wednesday signed an executive order strictly defining a person’s sex.

The order notably does not use the term “transgender,” although it appears directed at limiting transgender access to certain public spaces. It orders state agencies to define “female” and “male” as a person’s sex assigned at birth.

“It is common sense that men do not belong in women’s only spaces,” Pillen said in a statement. “As Governor, it is my duty to protect our kids and women’s athletics, which means providing single-sex spaces for women’s sports, bathrooms, and changing rooms.”

All states should do this .... he is correct in his thinking. Transgender is fluid .... one can claim one thing one minute and something else the next and it promotes confusion and inequalities and unrest in various aspects of society. Forcing women to allow men in their private spaces is making them uncomfortable and rightly so.

Seems kinda strange to me that he would want people who look like men, act like men, and have a penis (transgender men who have undergone the reassignment surgery) using women's bathrooms and changing rooms, but this seems to be popular with Republicans these days.

This transgender has dawned on me that it has a close connection in the sense. Being that it is people (boys, men, girls, women) declaring they are another gender. Similar to satan declaring he is God.

So it looks like it is opening the door for when satan (through the man of sin) comes and declares himself God. By the time of the tribulation people may be declaring all kinds of beliefs they are this or that.

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Not strange but by design. If any trans man tries to use the toilet in accordance with this law they will face the police being called, and if they ignore the law the same.

Quite deliberate.

This sounds like bad news for a friend of mine. Her genitals were "misformed" at birth and, despite actually being female (including a vagina, ovaries, etc), the fact she had something resembling a penis at birth she was "identified" as male initially. I guess she would be smart to avoid Nebraska in the future, where it would now be a crime for her to use women's restrooms and changing rooms.

And before someone asks, her birth certificate was corrected -- even as that of many transsexuals ends up being "corrected" -- but the Nebraska law specifically states the sex assigned at birth; likely so that transsexuals who move from other states can't claim to be the opposite sex based on their corrected birth certificates.

Your seem to be equating "corrected" with "altered."

Exactly! Men (males) do NOT belong in women's restrooms or private areas regardless of what they "identify" as.

This is a right wing fantasy and is not reflective of reality.

This person’s birth certificate said “Female” at birth…they’d have to use the women’s room at Walmart…how do you think that’s going to go over?

For the purposes of this, your equivocation changes nothing. What matters is what sex was assigned at birth, regardless of if you call it "corrected" or "altered."

As my mother and father always told us (when we were kids) before leaving the house, "Go to the bathroom now so you don't have to go while out and about." The house bathroom was for everyone. Most of the problem solved .

I don't equate the two.

This was/is rare but happens.... but is not what the problem is, although those who did not try to make a problem will often suffer because they're caught in a catch-22 no-win if they get discovered.

Yes it is , common (and true) sense.
