The death rate for covid is not that high . The vast majority of people that get covid fully recover. If one is young and healthy the risk of dying from covid is extremely small.
If that's actually your criteria, the vaccine is orders of magnitude safer.

No. The trials won't be completed for a long time.

And what does the current data show about vaccine safety? I mean, I get it is fun to pretend that the sheeple will suffer for their insolence down the road and one's unfounded fear of the vaccine will shown to have been correct. But is there any reason now to think that guess is correct.

There are already lots of adverse reaction reports on the US VAERS and UK Yellow Card systems, but those pushing for mandatory vaccination just dismiss it all.

That's not at all true. I've linked to CDC studies based on these reports. Guess what? They show the vaccine to be very safe.

That is a very poor quality analogy. When has anyone ever tried to mandate that people have to drive cars that have less than 5 years of safety records based on real world driving?

This isn't about requiring vaccines. It is about the FDA approving it for use with less than 100% complete 5 or 10 or 100 year trials.

Demonic logic.

People matter, period. The medical world has always treated the "undeserving"—smokers, promiscuous people, the obese, drug addicts, murderesses (see: abortion), etc.—and still do, everyday.

Just not in the US health care system, where people are routinely denied treatment because they can't afford it, or bankrupted after receiving it.

At issue is triage, not affordability.

The threads about it being approved so far argue against that point rather strongly.

In all fairness, she said "some" people... just not how many.

I'm not waiting. I have it. If you want it you have to go through what I did to get it.

That's good to hear. But 650,000 of our fellow citizens lost their lives to Covid. And there's a significant contingent of people who've gotten over the acute symptoms, but have lingering health problems that may last for months.

https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/91270

I was a subject in the Pfizer clinical trial, and was fully vaccinated last summer. I've had no side effects whatsoever. I get tested for antibodies on a regular schedule, though that data hasn't yet been released. But I'm confident in my immunity. And it was a heck of a lot easier to get 2 jabs in my arm, than to go through what too many people have suffered. And are still suffering.

Affordability is always an issue when US health care is concerned.

I agree, but affordability was not originally being discussed in that chain of replies. Prioritization of treatment was.

So glad the FDA approval has settled the matter and we're all in agreement!

The careful review of mountains of evidence has once again led ineluctably to a rational conclusion in everyone's minds.

I have no desire to debate anyone, but I'm going to take crap from anybody. Big claims require big proof, and those of you pushing the vaccine have none. None.

I want to see what happens and how you change your tune in a few months when the deaths from the vaccinated folks cannot be hidden or blamed on the unvaccinated. I want to see how even if you get your way and everyone gets a shot, that nothing is ever going back to normal.

I'd also like to see how your attitudes shift. Right now there are a couple of you who seem the type of folks who would have dropped a dime on Anne Frank.

Since it's been a exactly one year, I was wondering if there has been any indication that people who have received the covid vaccine in the past 18 months are dying at an abnormally high rate.

I received my second jab in September 2021 and I died back in June.

Just as it is with the flu vaccine, the COVID vaccine is always being adapted to protect against newer variants.
This guarantees there will always be people who will believe the new improved vaccines will be "experimental."
Because naturally it's best to wait 5 years to fight today's variants.

COVID vaccines makes you magnetic In early June 2021, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, an antivax osteopathic physician based in Cleveland, claimed that COVID-19 vaccines could turn people into magnets due to 5G telecommunication towers. While addressing Ohio lawmakers, she used her claim to justify the need for a bill to stop businesses and government agencies from requiring vaccinations. She alleged that vaccinated people become “magnetized,” as evidenced by pictures on the internet of them with forks and spoons sticking to their persons. “There has been people who have long suspected there was some sort of an interface, yet to be defined, an interface between what’s being injected in these shots, and all of the 5G towers,” Tenpenny said. She says vaccines make you magnetized. This lawmaker invited her testimony, chair says. - Ohio Capital JournalDEBUNKED BY: No, your Covid jab isn't magnetic AND PolitiFact - Sherri Tenpenny makes false COVID-19 vaccine magnetism claim to Ohio lawmakers

This doctor said vaccines magnetize people. Ohio suspended her medical license.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two years ago, a Cleveland area physician strode into the House Health Committee room and told state lawmakers that COVID-19 vaccines magnetize their hosts and “interface” with cell towers.
Her comments, the subject of widespread ridicule, triggered a swarm of 350 complaints to the State Medical Board and a chain of events that led to the regulators indefinitely suspending the medical license Wednesday of anti-vaccine activist Sherri Tenpenny.

I understand medical bodies are often loath to tread on physicians' right to practice as they see fit; in this case, the suspension is on procedural grounds as she wouldn't comply with the investigation.

Good. It sounds like she mentally ill. And shouldn't be in the medical field.

Doctor who claimed COVID vaccines made people magnets is sued for ‘failing to pay $650K in taxes’

Dr Sherri Tenpenny had her medical license revoked in 2023, but it was reinstated earlier this year

With the addition of late fees and penalties, the DOJ argues Tenpenny owes a total of $646,929.82.

Tenpenny spoke to Cleveland.com and told reporters she has been unfairly targeted by the feds and claims she has tried for years to clear up her tax issues.

Tenpenny, who was lauded by anti-vax conservatives for speaking out against the Covid vaccines, has run to Republican Senator JD Vance looking for help. [citation needed]

Earlier this year, the state's medical board voted to reinstate her license provided she agree to pay a $3,000 fine and cooperate with investigators.

It sounds as if you choose Dr. Tenpenny for your doctor, you get about a dime's worth of expertise.

The House Oversight Committee should send American hero Dr. Fauci home and investigate this vaccine conspiracy theorist.

So her license was restored, upon review. OK.

I don't know anything about being magnetized, but after the disinformation we have been fed for years, not much would surprise me.
