  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Then Paul was wrong then? IMMORAL AND IMPURE PEOPLE WILL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD?

Your own advice on how to establish context.

Who is writing:
Paul is the writer sent to preach to the uncircumcised.

Who is it written to:
He’s writing to…

“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Who are sealed with the Holy Spirit

“Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭30‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

What are the circumstances:

He is very pleased with their faith.

“For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

What is the context before:

He’s telling them to walk in the Spirit.

“So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. But you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬-‭32‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

What is the context after:

He explain the consequences of not walking in the Spirit.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Sealed with the Holy Spirit means they have received the promise of eternal life but in order to actually receive it they must maintain their faith and walk in the Spirit in order to fulfill their part of the covenant/contract/agreement.
Heb 10:
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
(NOTE: (NOTE: Faith placed in Christ's FINISHED sin atoning work & resurrection. Sanctifies the believer once & for ALL TIME)

12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
(NOTE: Christ's sin sacrifice is ever lasting. BTW, he didn't go sit next to himself. Rev 5:7 he doesn't hand the book to himself. But, I digress)

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
(NOTE: Belief in Christ's FINISHED sin atoning sacfifice & resurrection. FOREVER PERFECTS the BELIEVER)

Col 2:10 And ye are complete (MADE PERFECT) in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
(NOTE: This circumcision made without hands. Is the spiritual act of baptizing/sealing via the Holy Spirit. Only Christ can baptize with the Holy Spirit. NO WATER USED/NEEDED)

Eph 1:
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(NOTE: You heard about Christ's redemptive sacrifice & resurrection, YOU BELIEVED, Christ SEALED you with the Holy Spirit)

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
(NOTE: Earnest means DOWN PAYMENT. The Holy Spirit, Christ baptized you with, is a LAYAWAY PLAN/DOWN PAYMENT. Given until the day the DEAL is completed. That day you receive an eternal incorruptible body)

Ephesians 4:30 grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
(NOTE: Believers are SEALED by Christ with the Holy Spirit until the final day of redemption. When the believers receives an incorruptible body)

Ps 37:28 the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever
(NOTE: Saints are preserved for ever)

Jude 1:1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ
(NOTE: Saints are preserved for ever)

Jn 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand
(NOTE: Jesus say's: I give the believer ETERNAL LIFE & THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH)

Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
(NOTE: Faith placed in Christ's FINISHED sin atoning work & resurrection. Obtains eternal redemption for us)

Rom 11:29 the gifts and calling of God are without repentance
(NOTE: A gift is given, not earned. A gift can also be rejected)
Congratulations Paul’s words are overruled by the King James Bible Dictionary.
1 Jn 2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
(MY NOTE: Believers you ARE - Right Now - FORGIVEN (NOT just until your next sin) for Christ's name's sake)

Eph 1:7 In Jesus Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
(NOTE: Believers have <Present Tense - Finished Transaction> REDEMPTION through his blood & FORGIVENESS of sins)

Congratulations Paul’s words are overruled by the King James Bible Dictionary.
Paul wrote these scriptures as well

Holy Spirit is given to every believer is Gods Seal/Promise - SEAL (2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, Eph 4:4)

Eph 1:14 Holy Spirit; which is """the earnest """ """of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession""", unto the praise of his glory.
(MY NOTE: The earnest/Holy Spirit is a down payment of the believers promised eternal life promise.)

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who """has blessed us""" with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
(MYNOTE: Believers Christ has blessed you with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places) Amen

Eph 4:30 The Holy Spirit of God, ""whereby ye are SEALED"" unto the day of redemption

(MY NOTE: Additional scripture references on the Holy Spirit as a seal: 2 Cor 1:22, 2 Timothy 1:14, 2 Cor 5:5.

Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words: definition - Seal
English "seal" = Greek "sphragis" context as a Noun - Strongs ref #4973
(a) "the seal of the living God," an emblem of "ownership & security" the persons to be "sealed" being "secured from destruction & marked for reward"

English "seal" = Greek "sphragizo" context as a verb - Strongs ref #4972
(d) ownership and security, three indications are conveyed in Ephesians 1:13 , in the metaphor of the "sealing" of believers by the gift of the Holy Spirit, upon believing (i.e., at the time of their regeneration, not after a lapse of time in their spiritual life, "having also believed," "after that ye believed;" the aorist (TENSE) participle marks the definiteness and completeness of the act of faith); the idea of destination is stressed by the phrase "the Holy Spirit of promise" (see also Ephesians 1:14 ); so Ephesians 4:30 , "ye were sealed unto the day of redemption;"

Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words: EARNEST - (Noun) [ 1,,G728, arrabon ]

The EARNEST is a down payment/pledge/promoise. The Holy Spirit that Christ baptizes every beliebver with is a seal/guarentee of their promised eternal inheritance. In modern Greek arrabona is an "engagement ring.

Law promoters invariably take a verse out of context & try to build a doctrine that fits their unscriptural narrative

Parsing Hebrews 10

Who is the letter written talking to? Well, the title tells us that, HEBREWS.

What is the context of chapter 10? Old covenant sin sacrifice's & A BETTER new covenant sin sacrificial system.

Heb 10:
1 For the "law having a shadow" of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those "sacrifices" which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
(MY NOTE: The sin sacrifices made under O/C Mosaic law were a FORSHADOW of Christ's coming, BETTER, Once for All Time sin sacrifice)

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
(MY NOTE: Mosaic law sin sacrifices were to STOP once the ultimate sin sacrifice was completed. See Matt 27:51 Jesus died & the Temple veil was ripped in 1/2)

3 But in those "sacrifices" there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
(MY NOTE: Mosaic law sacrifices were made again & again, reminding the worshippers of their sin)

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
(MY NOTE: Mosaic law sacrifices only covered sin & could did not provide remission = pardon). After Jesus perfect Once for All Time sacrifice. All the OT, covered sins, were then, taken away)

5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, "Sacrifice" and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
(MY NOTE: See Ps 40:6 foretelling.)

6 In burnt offerings and "sacrifices for sin" thou hast had no pleasure.
(MY NOTE: See Isa 1:11 foretelling.)

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
(MY NOTE: See Ps 40:6-8 foretelling.)

8 Above when he said, "Sacrifice" and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
(MY NOTE: Mosaic law sacrifices, that covered only, did not completely satisfy heavens required wage for sin)

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
(MY NOTE: The 1st = Mosaic law, the 2nd Order of Melchizedek. Established upon Christ BETTER sin payment & resurrection)

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
(MY NOTE: Christ Once for All Time sin sacrifice, sanctifies every believer FOREVER. Mosaic law couldn't do that Rom 8:3-4)

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same "sacrifices", which can never take away sins:
(MY NOTE: ALL the Mosaic law sacrifices (millions?) Only covered & didn't provide sin remission/pardon/removal)

12 But this man, after he had offered one "sacrifice for sins" for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
(MY NOTE: Christ's One Time (perpetually cleansing God Blood) sin offering satisfied heavens required sin wage/DEATH. Jesus Once for All Time sin sacrifice takes away (Jn 1:29) ALL the believers sin.)

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
(MY NOTE: A sinless Christ's perfect, Once for All Time, perpetually cleansing God Blood payment FOREVER sanctifies the believer)

15 Whereof the Holy Spirit also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
(MY NOTE See Jer 31:33)

16 This is the (New) covenant that I will make with them after those days, said the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
(MY NOTE: This promise is realized at Acts 2 Pentecost. When Christ places his H/Spirit in their hearts forever (Jn 14:16) sealing (Eph 1:13-14, 4:30, 2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, 2 Tim 1:14) the believers eternal life promise)

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
(MY NOTE: If someone forgets something, they might remember it again. God say's He will remember the believers sins No More!)

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
(MY NOTE: Where there is Remission = pardon/total forgiveness. Another sin offering will never be required)

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
(MY NOTE: Jesus/God blood sin payment removed the curtain veil (Matt 27:51) that stood between God & sinful man. And now believers can enter into God's presents. Thru faith placed in His finished sin atoning work)

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
(MY NOTE: Thru faith in Christ's death, burial & resurrection we can pass thru the spiritual veil)

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
(MY NOTE: Jesus is our High Priest: Ps 110:4, Heb 2:17, 3:2, 4:14,15,5:6, 6:20,7:11,15,23,26,27,9:12,24. It's our faith in His everlasting righteousness, faithfulness & obedience. That provides our eternal salvation)

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
(MY NOTE: We access His righteousness by grace thru faith Rom 3:24, 5:1-2, Acts 15:11, Eph 2:5,8, 2 Tim 1:9)

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised
(MY NOTE: Trust in His faithful obedience & righteousness works, not your own)

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
(MY NOTE: Love God & your fellow believer)

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
(MY NOTE: Find other believers & worship God together)

Now consider the contextual background verses 1-26 (Vs 14-18 in particular) this chapter = A NEW BETTER SACRIFICE! Onto verse 26:

26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the "knowledge of the truth", there remains no more "sacrifice" for sins,
(MY NOTE: 1st, the knowledge of truth: Messiah's sacrifice has been brought forth (Reread vs 1): You now have a NEW BETTER "SACRFICIAL SYSTEM". 2ndly, If you willingly reject: THE NEW BETTER SACRIFICIAL COVENANT. You can no longer find "ATONEMENT FOR SIN" offered under the Temple sacrificial system (Reread vs 1)

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
(MY NOTE: Now that you know/understand about Jesus ultimate Once for All Time sin sacrifice, beware!)

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
(MY NOTE: They understood what the results from breaking God's law (under the O/C) could bring)

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
(MY NOTE: If you bring a sin sacrifice to the Temple after you know the truth about Jesus ultimate sacrifice. You deny/reject the Son, the Father who sent the Son & the Holy Spirit that revealed it to you.)

These were in particular people who had professed to be Christians but had no true faith in the Savior Jesus Christ.

I would place the one's that choose to deny the Son's sacrifice. As the the one's Jesus foretold of in the sowers parable:

Matt 13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Life revolved around the Temple. Stephen had been stoned to death for his faith in Jesus, Saul had rounding up Christ professing believers & many Jewish believers had scattered/dispersed/ran for their life.

Bottom line, these people (vs 26 still bringing sacrifices) never were saved. They were seeds that fell onto stony heart.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
(MY NOTE: Believers HAVE <Present Tense/Right Now > ""everlasting life"" & ""shall NOT come into condemnation"" but is passed from death unto life!)

But if you keep reading in Hebrews 10, it says,

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,
there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,” (Hebrews 10:26).

So you cannot justify the idea that a believer can abide in sin and be saved.
And if you know the background to the book of Hebrews, you'll know that the church, which was made up of Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians, was facing persecution.
Some of the Jewish Christians were tempted to go back to the synagogues, lie low for a bit until persecution had passed.
But they would not have been accepted by the synagogues unless they publicly declared that they had made a mistake and that Jesus of Nazareth was not the Messiah. It seems that some were happy to do this, and would just confess him as Lord and go back to the church once the threat of persecution was over.
Basically they were thinking of denying their faith to save their lives.

THIS is what the writer is addressing all the way through the book. He shows how Jesus was greater than the prophets and Moses, how he is our Great High Priest, how the blood of bulls and rams, mentioned in the law, could never save but how Jesus has offered his own life. He shows how the OT points to Jesus and reminds people of the faith that they received.
If some of the church members had sinned - denied that Jesus was the Messiah - there would be no way back, because they had received and known the truth. If they had proclaimed Christ crucified after they had denied him, that would have been like crucifying him all over again, Hebrews 6:6. And that's what Hebrews 10:26 means.

If a Christian were to deliberately sin, and continue to do so, one might rightly question what their faith meant to them/if they really loved God.
But this verse is in not saying that if we sin after becoming a Christian; that's it.

Hebrews 10:26-31

(27) But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

(30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
(31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

You just avoided the entire passage we’re discussing and completely avoided the question I asked.

This is prime example of your cherry picking because any passage that refutes your theology and you dismiss it as Old Covenant theology and here you are actually quoting from the OT as if it was New Covenant theology. Heb 10:
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
(NOTE: (NOTE: Faith placed in Christ's FINISHED sin atoning work & resurrection. Sanctifies the believer once & for ALL TIME)

12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
(NOTE: Christ's sin sacrifice is ever lasting. BTW, he didn't go sit next to himself. Rev 5:7 he doesn't hand the book to himself. But, I digress)

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Sourse link: Earnest (Noun) - Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words
So you have nothing to say about Paul preaching the same gospel that Christ preached? Not going to address that either? Just want to sweep that right under the rug like it doesn’t even exist. I’m not about to let that happen. You said Paul’s gospel was different from Christ’s gospel and Romans 2 proves you wrong. Are you going to acknowledge Romans 2 or not?

I am aware of the commentary background long before you said anything. I have no problem with the basic idea that this was a refutation of those Jewish Christians who wanted to avoid persecution for Christ by hiding out in pretending to be Jews again, but this actually supports Conditional Salvation and not Unconditional Salvation (if such a story is true). A person cannot deny Jesus after having been changed and after having received the Holy Spirit, etcetera. One cannot repent in such a case (Hebrews 6:4-6). So Hebrews 6 is dealing with apostasy. But in Hebrews 3, it says that we are not to let sin harden our heart in departing from the living God (apostasy). Sin is what causes one to go down the road of apostasy from the Lord altogether. This is why Hebrews 10:26 says if we willfully sin, there remains no more sacrifice for sin. You cannot be saved while abiding in sin. Now, there is forgiveness if you do sin. According to Proverbs 28:13, the one who confesses and forsakes sin shall have mercy. Future sin is not forgiven a believer just because of a belief on Jesus. That’s rank heresy. Titus 2:11-12 says that God’s grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and that we should live righteously and godly in this present world. Jesus warned how sin can destroy our souls along with the apostle Paul. Be not deceived. The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Side Note:

You can come back from most sins and confess and forsake them. God’s grace is exceedingly abundant. But you cannot come back from apostasy in denying Jesus as one’s Savior (After having been changed on a radical level). Hebrews 10:26 is dealing with sin (Which is a road to apostasy but it is not talking about apostasy directly). Hebrews 10:26 is just a link in a chain towards apostasy. Apostasy is falling away from the faith whereby you burned your bridges and cannot come back (even if you wanted to).

Side Note 2:

Some people use Peter as an example of one who can deny Christ and yet later be okay with God. But Peter did not receive the Holy Spirit yet when he denied Christ. I don’t believe Peter would have been allowed to come back to God if he denied the Lord Jesus after having the Holy Spirit living on the inside of him. Hebrews 6:4-6 appears to make this fact very clear.

8 Above when he said, "Sacrifice" and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

12 But this man, after he had offered one "sacrifice for sins" for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

16 This is the (New) covenant that I will make with them after those days, said the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
(MY NOTE: This promise is realized at Acts 2 Pentecost.

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
(MY NOTE: Thru faith in Christ's death, burial & resurrection we can pass thru the spiritual veil)

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

Hebrews 10:26 still means what it says plainly. If we willfully sin there remains no more sacrifice for sin. You can throw a bunch of other verses at us to distract us away from Hebrews 10:26, but it will not work for the one who wants to believe every word of God.

This is prime example of your cherry picking because any passage that refutes your theology and you dismiss it as Old Covenant theology and here you are actually quoting from the OT as if it was New Covenant theology. You can’t even be consistent in your arguments. Even the words of Christ Himself and the books of James and Hebrews from the New Testament you dismiss as Old Covenant theology, but not Psalms 37.

Congratulations Paul’s words are overruled by the King James Bible Dictionary.
The KJ dictionary was used in support of things Paul said, Paul wrote the verses posted that you dismissed. He wrote the following as well:

Rom 8:1 (A) 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(MY NOTE: No sin judgement will be levied against NT believers).

Rom 8:11 If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(MY NOTE: God's Spirit DWELLS in every believer)

Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.
(MY NOTE: God places/seals his love in our hearts via His INDWELLING Holy Spirit)

1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
(MY NOTE: Every believers body is a temple of Gods INDWELLING Holy Spirit)

Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
(MY NOTE: God reveals a secret to gentiles = Christ DWELLS IN you)

Eph 3:6 This mystery is that thru the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of 1 body, & sharers together in the promise "in Christ"
(MY NOTE: Gentiles are heirs with Israel & share in Christ's PROMISED INDWELLING Holy Spirit)

Ehp 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
(MY NOTE: Believers are SEALED by Gods INDWELLING Holy Spirit until the day thier Adamic corruptible bodies are redeemed & transformed into, eternal, incorruptible Heavenly bodies)

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
(MY NOTE: The Comforter/Holy Spirit will abide with you FOREVER. This scripture is spoken to Jews & later becomes applicable to Jew Acts 2:4 & Gentile Acts 10:44.)

Is this what you call discussing the scriptures? We’re talking about Ephesians 4 & 5 and you haven’t said a word about it.
Not following you down any more rabbit holes. You post you're preferred verses & I'll do the same.

What I said & backed-up with scripture. Was the Gospel of the kingdom message was a 100% OT (to Jews only) message. And VOID of Christ's death & resurrection. The Jews had a animal sin sacrificial system that dealt with sin

Christ's death & resurrection are required center piece's of today's salvation. Jesus sacrifice is the NT Church answer to sin.

The risen Lord Jesus, gave this message to Paul. Here is the NT gospel of the grace of God message, Paul received (Acts 20:24):

1 Cor 15
1 Now brothers and sisters, let me remind you [once again] of the good news [of salvation] which I preached to you, which you welcomed and accepted and on which you stand [by faith].

2 By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain [just superficially and without complete commitment].

3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

4 and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

(MY NOTE: Vs 1-4 Recap: The NT gospel of Salvation "Christ died for our sins was buried & rose again the third day")

Here's how a person accesses this good news of salvation:
Rom 5:
1 Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).

2 Through Him we also have access by faith into this [remarkable state of] grace in which we [firmly and safely and securely] stand. Let us rejoice in our [a]hope and the confident assurance of [experiencing and enjoying] the glory of [our great] God [the manifestation of His excellence and power].

(MY NOTE: Vs 1-2 recap: We access salvation/justification = Judicially declared righteous by a sovereign Creator God. By placing our FAITH in Jesus sin atoning sacrifice. Found in His death (sins required wage, PAID) burial (proof Jesus died) & resurrection (Father's receipt, sins payment received & accepted.)

Rom 10:
9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.
(MY NOTE: Justification is received thru FAITH ALONE! Confession is confirmation of your FAITH!

Eph 2:
8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;

9 not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].
(NY NOTE: Law promoters need to pay special attention to verse 9!!!!!

Apostasy is falling away from the faith whereby you burned your bridges and cannot come back (even if you wanted to).
If someone turns away from the faith but later wants to return, I believe they can.
That desire within them will be a prompting from God, who doesn't give up on us. Nothing can snatch us from God's hands.

Yes, if someone were to deliberately reject God's love - having first experienced it - continued to do so and refused to repent, their hearts may become hardened so they could not return.
But wanting to return, calling out to God, regretting your previous actions; that's different.

You avoid most of my replies, fair is fair.
on the contrary the point of posting Romans 2 was in response to your replies. You claimed that there is no need for repentance to be saved. You claimed that Paul’s Gospel was different from Christ’s gospel. I just proved both of those wrong by quoting Romans 2 and so far you refuse to discuss it. You just cherry pick verses from other passages and paste them into the discussion as if the negate what Paul wrote in Romans 2 but you won’t actually discuss Romans 2.

Typical lack of understanding, it was an OT prophecy, seen again in the Jude 1:1. And you accuse me of cheery picking
It wasn’t a prophecy The Lord has always preserved those who humble themselves to Him even since day one. That is consistently shown throughout the entire Bible both Old Testament and New Testament.
