verse?-
...The rapture (taking away of believers) takes place first and then with the signing of the 7 year treaty/covenant, the tribulation will start.
Full disclosure, I am a Partial Preterist and believe the Book of Revelation was written before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD.Matthew 24:
Christians will experience the great tribulation.
How long will the great tribulation last?
I don't know exactly but it is counted in days and not years.
If you were in the early stages of tribulation, would you know it?
Only with hindsight:
One can even include possible redeemable people on other planets.
More detail of the 2nd coming is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:
John 6:
Revelation 1:
John 5:
2 Peter 3:
The following seems to be the chronological order of events:
As for the millennium reign, I assume it is only symbolic and not literal.
- The great tribulation
- 2nd coming of Christ on the clouds on the last day
- The dead in Christ resurrected
- Live believers caught up (rapture).
- The wicked resurrected for judgment
- End of physical days, space-time dimensions changed
- New heavens and new earth established.
Matthew 24:After much research on the phrase , " the great tribulation " it appears nowhere in scripture
There is no "the".Matthew 24:
21 For then there will be great tribulation
Jesus mentioned it the first time there. There is no need for the definite article. There is no "the".
I respectfully disagree. Thanks for engaging!Jesus mentioned it the first time there. There is no need for the definite article.
Are you saying that even when Jesus mentioned "great tribulation" for the first time, he had to use the definite article?I respectfully disagree. Thanks for engaging!
Be blessed.
verse?
In a case like this, I keep track of different interpretations and weigh each. So far, I don't really have any single interpretation that I am confident about. There is no single verse that states what i wrote.
The taking away
“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Daniel 9:27. He (the King of the north/man of sin/beast from the sea) signs a covenant for seven years with the nation of Israel. This is the event that inaugurates the Tribulation period
He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven. In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.
Hey my brother one could say the same thing for what you posted. Well where's the verse saying Caught up happens after "the" great tribulation? There is none. Those who are known and have studied this for many decades.. well like one said "I am post BUT if Jesus comes pre trib I am ready now". Very wiseverse?
Sure, I welcome your opinionHey my brother one could say the same thing for what you posted. Well where's the verse saying Caught up happens after "the" great tribulation? There is none.
No the opposite. He did not use it which means it is not an isolated incident but rather, persecution is being described as a whole over generations and more specifically the pinnacle event 70AD. I am basically saying it is not a one time event in the far future. Are you saying that even when Jesus mentioned "great tribulation" for the first time, he had to use the definite article?
Right. That's how I read it also. It does not preclude THE great tribulation either. No the opposite. He did not use it which means it is not an isolated incident but rather, persecution is being described as a whole over generations and more specifically the pinnacle event 70AD. I am basically saying it is not a one time event in the far future.
The tribulation is seven years between the Church age and the Kingdom age.How long will the great tribulation last?
Resurrection Sunday as you call it, is a Catholic festival. We should celebrate it on the actual day, which changes every year. Christ is our Passover, not our Easter which is celebrating a pagan goddess, so it matters not what Apophis is.The tribulation is seven years between the Church age and the Kingdom age.
Apophis has a seven year orbit and passes the earth on resurrection sunday.
Luke 21:25 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars.
On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.
Is Resurrection Sunday mentioned in the Bible?Resurrection Sunday as you call it, is a Catholic festival.
