Well born again children of God who have died now and in the past and the ones who will die in the future, will go to heaven temporarily. But eventually the permanent home of all born again children of God will be the new earth and not heaven.

I have heard this before. One person told me though, that they go temporarily to meet God. Is that your view, or is their another reason for going there temporarily?
Is this a view you were taught in church?
What are your thoughts on 2 Corinthians 5:1?

2 Corinthians is speaking about receiving the new body at the resurrection.

It says something about heaven. What does the verse say about where they will be, and for how long?

For we know that if our earthly]house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

The "building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens" is speaking about the resurrected new body the believer will receive.

@d taylor can I ask, is there a particular reason you didn't answer the questions in the OP?
  • Why do you want to go to heaven? If i die now in this age i will want to go to heaven because that is where believers go.
  • What will you do if/when you get to heaven? do not know
  • Do you believe you are one of the Saints? All born again children of God are saints. So i am a born again child of God, so i am a saint.

Eternal in the heavens
Thus, the resurrected new body the believer will receive, will be in heaven, eternally, according to the Bible.
People tell us differently.
Which do you think we should base what we believe on. What people say, or what the Bible says?

I'm just trying to help. All the saints know why they go to heaven. Why don't you know, Taylor?
Could it be, most people who go to church 'believe' they are Saints, even though they really aren't?

You did not ask, why they go to heaven. You asked Why do you want to go to heaven?
Do you not even know how your questions are stated.

The body is created by God it is a heavenly body that is opposed to the earthly body. Read 2 Corinthians 5:1 again Paul is contrasting the two types of bodies. He is not saying a persons eternal home is in heaven

Taylor, I was asking if you were taught these things in church, because I too, was taught these things from youth.
Yet, when you really study the scriptures, you realize that you haven't been taught the truth from the Bible, but rather, doctrines of men.

For example, we are taught that once a person dies, they go straight to heaven to be with God.
We are told, at funerals, the person is smiling down at us, from heaven, and they are at peace.

Yet, the Bible says so many things contrary to this.
For one thing, Jesus, when he came to earth, said,
No one has ascended into heaven, except He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. John 3:13

In the same Chapter, Jesus said,
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
John 3:3, 5

So faithful people died in the past, but Jesus said, no man had gone to heaven.
The scriptures gave reasons why this was impossible.
  1. Jesus - the firstfruit to God, had not ascended to heaven as an immortal. 1 Corinthians 15:23
  2. Jesus had not opened the way to heaven by means of his sacrificial body. Hebrews 9:24; Hebrews 10:19;
  3. No one was born again - baptized in water, and spirit, prior to Jesus' death. John 3:3, 5

There is so much to learn from the scriptures, that we have not been fed, and sadly, many persons are being led astray.
I think it is important that people learn the truth, about heaven, and other Biblical topics.
Would you agree?

I did ask what you will do there, and if you consider yourself a Saint. Did I not?
The former question considered the purpose of going to heaven, The latter considered the qualification.
If the former was negative, automatically the latter is negative.

Well it is really not that complicated.
Before Christ died and was resurrected, no believer went to heaven they went to hades Abraham's bosom.
After Jesus was taken up to heaven in Acts He (Jesus) took with him all the saints who had died in the past.

Jesus had to be the first to be welcomed back to Heaven by The Father and if Jesus was allowed in. Then all in the past who had believed in Jesus was welcomed also to heaven by The Father.

Interesting. That would make for interesting discussion, since if Hades is Abraham's bosom, people whom God judged as wicked, went there, according to the Bible.
However, not to go off topic (I had actually planned on asking questions on hell, in another thread), but sticking with heaven, what made everyone that died faithful to God, a Saint? How were they born again, prior to Jesus baptism by water, and spirit (anointing as a son), and his death.
