But isn't that pretty much what you wrote?
Because I get the impression they're blaming us little guys for some of it.

They want us to give up some of our creature comforts and start hugging trees.

And, as usual, DESPITE what the Bible says.
Maybe you can explain what you mean then?

This is textbook anti-intellectualism.

"Anti-intellectuals present themselves and are perceived as champions of common folk—populists against political and academic elitism—and tend to see educated people as a status class that dominates political discourse and higher education while being detached from the concerns of ordinary people."

I devoted a thread on this subject.

Yep.

Academia: Start hugging trees before it's too late.

Bible: It'll never be too late.

Academia: I don't care what the Bible says. Start hugging trees, or it's curtains.

Christian: No it won't be curtains. That curtain will never fall until God drops it.

Academia: I don't care what the Bible says. Start hugging trees before we're all underwater or dehydrated or whatever.

Christian:

The bottom line for Christian's than is to keep mov'n on destroying God's Creation here on Earth?
For you it's creation conforts and for @Postvieww it's about money. What about what God Created?
I guess I don't get what's important to Christians when it comes to God's Creation.

Wait? This isn't the HoF? I thought I was already there.
Most of the comments don't quite make it.
They need to be of this standard (this is a real CF post).
I wrote a book that is in the final stages of publication about the anthropology of religion and religious texts and that science plagiarized religious concepts using the greek and latin discuss. scientists are nothing more than satanist's who have carried on the practice's of druids who use to try to get high and contact higher powers they associated with astrology and the twelve constellations of the zodiac.

Who says we're destroying God's creation?

Can't I have a bottle of pop without being accused of contributing to climate change?

Go and accuse big companies of polluting the air, if you have to.

But leave us little guys out of it.

Your kidding me...have you looked at what we are doing to the Earth? We're in a human caused sixth mass extinction for starters. The oceans, land and air are polluted, people and life forms are dying from that pollution. There is no ground on the Earth were it's chemical composition has not been changes by human activity and in many places where even insects can not live.

It ought to be a group effort...that is "IF" we experienced God's Creation as sacred. The sad part from my perspective is that from what I gather from you, that's something Christians will not do.

The vast scale of human death and
environmental destruction initiated by
Chridtian Europeans when they started their imperialist campaign on
the rest of the world is little recognized by the descendants of those perps.

Far from acting as any sort of restraint, they used the Bible to as
a justification and force multiplier
for their decidedly unholy rampage.

Thank you for admitting it was an "unholy rampage".

To use the Holy Bible for unholy deeds is against the leading of the Holy Ghost.

1 Timothy 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

Astrology was replaced with Astronomy.
Astronomy is the study of the stars and early astronomy was about the motion of the stars and planets. It kept the clock of the seasons. It has been around from the earliest days of written records. "Astrology" is mysticism about stars and planets. It is not the primitive form of astronomy, but rather something that has co-existed with astronomy.
Alchemy was replaced with Chemistry.
Especially if you include early metallurgy in the broader area of chemistry, chemistry goes back a long way with people doing what we would call chemical processing all the way back in recorded history. Alchemy is chemical mysticism. It has more akin with potions and spells than with primitive chemistry.
Phlogiston theory was replaced with Combustion theory.
Phlogiston was a bad idea with hints of bad ancient notions (4 elements) that was fairly quickly replaced with the discovery of atmospheric gases.
Creationism was replaced with Evolution theory.
Creationism is a 100-year-old *reaction* to evolutionary theory with orgins in the SDA church (not long after it inspired "Corn Flakes").

At least 3 of 4 "fails". Oh well. You're going to have to try harder to get in to the HoF.

Astronomy is the study of the stars and early astronomy was about the motion of the stars and planets. It kept the clock of the seasons. It has been around from the earliest days of written records.

That is correct.

Just as God ordained in the beginning.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

"Astrology" is mysticism about stars and planets. It is not the primitive form of astronomy, but rather something that has co-existed with astronomy.

That is correct.

But it didn't start co-existing with astronomy until after the Fall.

God placed Astrology off-limits to mankind.

Especially if you include early metallurgy in the broader area of chemistry, chemistry goes back a long way with people doing what we would call chemical processing all the way back in recorded history.

That is correct.

God gave Cain's offspring the knowledge needed to become metallurgists.

Genesis 4:22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

Alchemy is chemical mysticism. It has more akin with potions and spells than with primitive chemistry.

That is correct.

God placed Alchemy off-limits to mankind.

Phlogiston was a bad idea with hints of bad ancient notions (4 elements) that was fairly quickly replaced with the discovery of atmospheric gases.

I don't know about "fairly quickly" as pertains to Phlogiston theory, but the 4 elements theory stunted the growth of science for two thousand years.

Creationism is a 100-year-old *reaction* to evolutionary theory with orgins in the SDA church (not long after it inspired "Corn Flakes").

Not even close.

At least 3 of 4 "fails".

Not sure what you're talking about.

Oh well. You're going to have to try harder to get in to the HoF.

If I'm there, it will be to visit those who think that Astrology & Alchemy came BEFORE Astronomy & Chemistry.

Notice God gave us the sciences first, then Satan took them and made them into forms of witchcraft.

But what is taught, is that the witchcraft was replaced with the science; when in reality, it was the other way around.

O great, I walked right into one of your dubious and literalist interpretation of the bible applied to reality.

I'm under the impression you were a student of the Bible, having studied It for some length of time.

Perhaps I'm mistaken?

Because if you were, you wouldn't have made such a rookie mistake as to think witchcraft came before science.

No. I wasn't. I was a Catholic. Reading the bible is for priests and scholars. I've read, like, 4-6 "books" fully.

Yep.

Fair enough.

My mistake.
