However I don't see how you can read a news article that says a news organization has been provided a COPY of a hard drive and said it does not appear to be a fake hard drive means that the FBI have verified the source of all the material.

No, they can not. That is not how grand juries work. Prosecutors and investigators can present witnesses within the bounds of the law and present evidence to the grand jury who can ask clarifying questions of those witnesses, but they can't subpoena just anyone they want. The grand jury itself doesn't have subpoena powers as far as I'm aware. They would have to go through the prosecutors or a judge and request it if they can even do that.

You'd first have to establish that this alleged computer actually exists. A photo would be a start. Then you'd have to establish that Hunter was even previously aware these fake emails existed. Then you'd have to establish that they were ever actually stored on this alleged computer, rather than being manufactured and circulated elsewhere . One also wonders who would manufacture them, and why.

The FBI says that they have the HD in their possession, and that the repair shop owner was given a receipt for the HD. That's good enough for me.
