Once the administration is done, never. However, I'm also cognizant of the fact that people make mistakes. Personally, the idea that Trump took classified documents with him didn't bother me when it first came out - I assumed it was a mistake by a staffer. Once he started pushing back on the idea and obstructing the process of getting them back where they belonged, then I had a problem. Until I see evidence otherwise, I assume the same of Biden - that the documents were accidentally swept up in the move-out process and packed in the wrong boxes. The fact that his team has, so far, cooperated and returned everything that they found immediately and without argument supports this. It still warrants an investigation, of course, and one has been launched. I fully support that process. I would like to know who has had access to the documents, and I'm curious as to how this mistake keeps happening. But I see no reason to go after Biden himself - at least not yet.

That would depend on who knew the documents were there and who had access to them - and if they were accessed. If no one had any idea they were there and no one had access to them (which is the current narrative, with nothing to suggest otherwise so far), then I don't see how anyone's financial ties - real or imagined - would make any difference.

Seems like a rather convoluted and stupid way to get rid of Biden. And I can't see Newsom having the national appeal to be serious contender for the presidency. It's already easy to frame Californians as out-of-touch just for being Californians, and Newsom also has his pandemic missteps to dog him.

If Biden just took these documents by accident there is a serious problem with protecting classified documents. He was writing a memoir and likely had the documents to help him get the facts straight

I remember pointing out that at these levels of the federal government, this stuff happens all the time. It's the exact same crime Trump is accused of in the Mar A Lago raid. How did they know where to look? Hmmm.

It is no where near the same: Pres. Trump had the authority to declassify what ever he wanted, Biden was VP and had no such authority nor any to take any documents. These were departmental documents in which are the top classification there is and had absolutely no business with them. Also these were docs about Russia gate, Ukraine gate, China gate; all where he and his crime family have had corrupt business with and still does. He had these documents that went back sense time as VP and moved them several times without chain of custody where anyone could and I willing to bet has seen. These are docs that show who everyone involved in the coups, CIA, FBI, DOJ and why FBI moved in swiftly not to secure them for national security reasons but to cover of this regimes corruption. These docs are suppose to be so secure that you only suppose to view inside a vault where you cant take a phone, and searched going and coming. This is called espionage at the highest level.
