There I was doing my daily work, when I found a mathematical formula that can be used to show the Universal Salvation is true.
Everyone knows about taxes, so let's use that as an example.

Profit After Taxes (PAT)
= Before-Tax Profit – Taxes (Before-Tax Profit)
= Before Tax Profit (1 - Taxes)

We can simplify this set of equations to the following:
PAT = BTP - Tx(BTP) = BTP (1 - Tx)

To prove this is true, let's use some random numbers, where
BTP = 777
Tx = 11

= -7770
777 - 11(777) = -7770
777(1-11) = -7770

Or if we want an even more random example, where
BTP = 19
Tx = 361

= -6840
= 19-361(19) = -6840
= 19(1-361) = -6840

Using algebraic variables, the formula that proves Universal Salvation as true is the following:
z = x-y(x) = x(1-y)

This explains the Trinity. This is how God can exist in different forms, The Father, The Son, the Holy Spirit, yet each form equals each other.
Each member of the Trinity proves that Universal Salvation is true.

The Father: Matthew 6:9-10, NIV Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
The will of God the Father is to fufill His promise to creation, to have all people worshipping Him in goodness and joy. Thus, all people will go to Heaven.

The Son: 1 Timothy 4:10 Jesus Christ, the savior of all men, especially those who believe.
Jesus Christ paid the wages of sin, which is death, for the sins of all people. Everyone will be saved through Him.

The Holy Spirit: Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
God is a God of hope. Everyone has the hope to be saved. He fills you with all joy, to all people, to everyone, so there's peace everywhere. The Holy Spirit is the power that spreads this hope, that every person will receive salvation.

Thus, 1 Matthew 6:9-10 = Timoyth 4:10 = Romans 15:13
They all prove each other true and serve as evidence for one another.

Thus, Universal Salvation is true.

There I was doing my daily work, when I found a mathematical formula that can be used to show the Universal Salvation is true....
That ain't what God, Himself, said in Jer 13:11-14.
Jeremiah 13:11-14
(11) For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
(12) Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
(13) Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
(14) And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
And that ain't what Jesus, Himself, said in Matt 7:21-23
Matthew 7:21-23
(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

z = x-y(x) = x(1-y)

Sorry, you lost me. I agree that multiplication distributes over addition, so that x-y(x) = x(1-y). And I even agree that a good case for Universal Salvation can be made from Scripture. But I really don't see how the math serves as proof of Universal Salvation.

It's an intriguing approach to the Trinity, though. The three Persons as different algebraic expressions for God. Hmm.

I mean this with the greatest respect brother, but have you considered that the Word of God was not delivered to us (nor meant to be understood) through the lens of mathematics? Have you stopped to wonder if you’re simply erecting an idol in algebra that has no bearing on scripture?

An idol? That's a bit heavy-handed. IMHO

So, you haven't heard of biblical numerology?

We’re all idol factories… I’m not saying anything that I don’t apply to myself doubly so.

I am aware enough of biblical numerology… usually in the form of something like “If you add up the Hebrew values for name X you get the same number as the values for the Messiah”. I have yet to encounter assertions via formula though.

I guess I mean the simpler for m of numerology. Some numbers have broad use. 7, 12, 40...

Yeah… and don’t get me wrong, I believe that there are some doozies out there where the numerology is very interesting and weird, but I guess my question here would be:

Do any of the biblical numerological observations have ANY impact or effect on scriptural doctrine or that which can be derived instead from a linguistic/exegetical explanation? i.e. “without this number alignment we just can’t figure out X from the bible otherwise”.

I agree. It's not as if the whole faith would fall apart if complex numerology were not in place, or verifiable. Numerology is more like frosting than the cake.

However, the number of times/days that the Israelites marched around Jericho seems rather significant. As do 12 disciples compared to 12 tribes and Christ's 40 days compared the Israelites 40 years. Why not 39 or 42?

Would you agree that numerology is math on some level? Similar to the relationship of math and geometry.

Perhaps the numbers should be viewed more like recurring words?

Returning to topic... do you know enough about math to follow what the OP is saying?

Both mathematics and geometry are more than just numbers - they're systems and processes that function more akin to language (e.g. they have rules, grammar, conventions). Numerology would be closer to semiotics in my book. Of course there's a deeper analysis here: language systems are ultimately composed of symbols at the bottom level, but when you start to layer on the rules/grammar/conventions then at some point you wind up with "language". E.g. :redapple: is a symbol, as is "APPLE" (note that the "A" in "APPLE" is an even lower symbol and in English we generally don't have a lot of symbolic meaning at the letter-level). But you'd need a language system to form together the symbols for APPLE, SELF and EAT into "I am going to eat the apple."

Perhaps the numbers should be viewed more like recurring words?

Could be. I would ponder a couple of levels of symbolic association here:
  1. Direct association: e.g. your given example of 12 disciples -> 12 tribes.
  2. Derived association: e.g. Melchizedek's Hebrew value -> Jesus' Hebrew value. By following some process (in this case Gematria) or likewise algorithm we can produce a derived symbol that we can then compare and analyze against other symbols. The more arcane the algorithm, the greater in my opinion one would have to stretch to make some kind of argument here. And, I would highly suspect we're just injecting our desire that there's a "hidden code" into scripture.
I remember reading a quote from Stephen King where he talked about how fans would compliment him on his complex use of color symbolism in The Shining, which according to him was completely accidental and unintended.

Returning to topic... do you know enough about math to follow what the OP is saying?

Well, let's break down "z = x-y(x) = x(1-y)", which apparently demonstrates the Trinity and Universal Salvation:
  1. "x-y(x)" is simply a function. So far I see no connection whatsoever. Is the x or y supposed to represent the persons of the Trinity? This function produces a value in all cases, regardless of what you set x or y to (presuming real numbers). I can make x = y or I can make x <> y, so there is no correlation between x and y.
  2. Assigning the value "z" to it's result, or re-expressing it as "x(1-y)" changes nothing. Still no connection.
  3. Is the thought here that because it's been re-expressed in three different ways suddenly it connects with the Trinity? If so, why?
  4. Why not :redapple::redapple:=:redapple:+:redapple:=:redapple::redapple::redapple:-:redapple:?
Anyway, some thoughts :grinning:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Mixed Costs = Fixed Costs + Variable Costs

This formula is used in Managerial Accounting most often in a manufacturing setting to calculate how much costs a corporation incurs. It’s useful for financial budgeting and creating internal reports.

It’s known algebraically as…

Y = a + bx

Where

Y: Total

a: Fixed Expenses

b: Variable Expenses

x: Units

This is similar to the slope formula from Microeconomics, y = mx + b, just in a different form. Otherwise calculated as rise / run, y2 – y1 / x2 – x1.

Universal Salvation is like a Mixed Cost, where the Fixed Cost represents the fact that everyone will be saved and the Variable Cost shows that people will be saved at different times.

Fixed Cost:

Psalms 112:7

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

Psalms 108:1

(A Song or Psalm of David.) O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

Ex: When you pay for the fixed monthly rent for factory space, you will be paying the same amount at the beginning of every month.

Fixed means unchanging. The ways of the Lord are unchanging, they are always good! Everyone will be saved, no matter what, that is a fixed fact! It cannot be changed, because it is God’s will and the Lord stays fixed in goodness.

Variable Cost:

Everyone will be saved by believing in faith alone through Jesus Christ. But, the time at which someone personally chooses to trust in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, is their decision. For some, they may realize the truth early on in their lives. For others, they may realize the truth later on.

Luke 4:40

At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them.

Being in sin is a sickness. After all, you can’t spell sickness without sin! But, when Jesus was on Earth healing those afflicted with diseases, He did not heal them all at once. He would go from one to the other, healing them on different days, at different times.

It's the same thing with salvation. Christ waits and the time in which someone lets Him into their lives varies.

Hebrews 2:4
God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

The time at which someone is saved and realizes the truth is done according to His will. For some people, the Sovereign Lord may choose to reveal the truth early on, for others, He may wait until later.

Mixed Cost

A good example is the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard.

Matthew 20: 9-9The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day

Those who are saved when they are young and those who are saved when they are old are both equally saved. That is fixed. The time when they are saved is variable. Thus, mixed. Universal Salvation is always fixed.

Today, we'll be focusing on the math economists use, specifically microeconomcis. This math will help illustrate and prove the concept of Universal Salvation through faith alone in Jesus Christ. The topic today will feature a Cost Volume Project (CVP) graph.

I've formatted theses posts so that they are all contained cases, meaning all the information I've used to explain them are within this individual post. They are all allgorical, meaning I'm using these mathematical concepts as a vessel in which I explain the topic.

Source of Graph Image: Break-even Point

Jesus Christ dying for all of our sins is like the Break Even Point (BEP), both in Units form and in Sales Form. His blood covers the sins of the whole world. For someone to be saved, it's up to them to believe in Him as their saviour through faith alone. But Universal Salvation guarantees that eventually, everyone will choose to believe in Him.

Break Even Point in Units Sold
= Fixed Expenses / Unit Contribution Margin
= FC / CM PU

Break Even Point in Total Sales Dollars
= Fixed Expenses / Contribution Margin Ratio
= FC / CM Ratio

Our Contribution Margin Ratio can be further broken down into the following...
CM Ratio = CM / Sales
= 1 - VC Ratio
- 1 - (Variable Expenses / Net Sales)

Example: Total Expenses and Total Sales both intersect at a certain point on a graph. The coordinate they meet on the X and Y plaine (x,y) is when sales "Break Even" with Expenses. Our Revenues = 0. Our Expenses = 0.

Being saved means being given a blank slate. Sins are expenses, they are a wage we pay, a cost.
Fixed Expenses = We are all physically born with sin at birth.
Variable Expenses = During our life, we choose to commit more sins.

The blood of Christ Jesus washes away all our sins, leaving it at 0. The sins we are born with are washed away. The sins we choose to commit, in the past, present and future, are washed away. All of our sins are washed away in the sight of the Lord when we believe in Jesus Christ as our saviour through faith alone.

It is impossible for the good works of man to appease the Lord. In accounting terms, without Jesus Christ, you'll always be in the red, operating at a loss. Only when you believe in faith alone in Christ can you begin operating at a profit. Break-Even Point is useful because business can create internal managerial reports to calculate Incremental Revenue and Incremental Cost. For instance, with this adjusted version of the formula above:

Units Sold to Attain Target Profit = (Fixed Expenses + Target Operating Profit) / Unit Contribution Margin.

Dollar Sales to Attain Target Profit = (Fixed Expenses + Target Operating Profit) / Contribution Margin Ratio.

And then even further with the Margin of Safety, which is the excess sales volume we have budgeted or that actually exist over our Break Even amount.

Margin of of Safety = Total Sales - Break Even Sales

Margin of Safety Percentage = Margin of Safety in $ / Total Budgeted (or Actual Sales)

It is out of God's grace that He chose to save out. He desires to have His plan of Universal Salvation fulfilled. In both the law and in accounting, publicly traded corporations are viewed as their own entities. That is, they operate under the principle of limited liability. The only loss investors get is what they put in. God Himself is still perfect, has been and always will be, regardless of our sin. But, God created us to serve a purpose. He invested His time, thousands of years of human history and His resources, the entire Earth and the dust we were formed from, to make us.

He will save everyone because, no business owner desires to see their businesses fail. The reason entrepreneurs make their own start ups is so they succeed. With sin, we are morally bankrupt, but Jesus Christ defaults all of our loans, free of charge, completely when we believe. God will save us all from the bankruptcy of sin, He's just waiting for our permission, our faith, our trust in Him to do so. Amen.

In both the law and in accounting, publicly traded corporations are viewed as their own entities. That is, they operate under the principle of limited liability. The only loss investors get is what they put in. God Himself is still perfect, has been and always will be, regardless of our sin. But, God created us to serve a purpose. He invested His time, thousands of years of human history and His resources, the entire Earth and the dust we were formed from, to make us.'
Total nonsense! The kingdom of God cannot be reduced to mathematical calculations.
Amen.
The prophet Jeremiah didn't get that memo.

Everyone will go to Heaven. Jesus Christ will save the whole world through faith alone. That's the most important takeaway. However, I will try to explain it with a math topic to serve as an allegory. This is an independent case to all the other cases I previously mentioned, and those likewise to all others. Here, I will focus on the math used in Supply Chain Management.

Rom. 11:36 "Of Him and through Him and to Him are ALL THINGS, to whom be glory forever. Amen"

Vertical Integration is when a company is directly responsible for the creation of their product. The organization has direct ownership over all the stages of the production process.

Psalm 14:5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous.

If God had a company called "Earth", then that would be vertically integrated. Because everything on Earth is created by Him. There is only one God, The Lord of Hosts. God never relies on external suppliers, because there are none apart from Him in terms of creation.

Matthew 13:55
“Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?

So, let's say a carpenter had a sole proprietorship (a business completely run by the owner) where they build wooden tables. To get Raw Materials Inventory, they would go out into the forest and cut down trees to collect lumber. This would become Work-In-Process Inventory as they cut the logs into planks and legs. Finally, it's a completed wooden table and goes into Finished Goods Inventory.

2 Kings 22:6
the carpenters, the builders and the masons. Also have them purchase timber and dressed stone to repair the temple.

It is faith alone in Jesus Christ through which we are saved. People who do not believe, who have been yet to be saved, are like those trees in the forest. God created all the trees and forests in the world. Thus, He must use them for a purpose. As everything The Lord creates He does so with a plan for them.

Ephesians 1:10 As a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Inventory Accounts (Types of Christians)
Raw Materials: Christians who have just been saved.
Work-In-Process: Christians learning how to perform good works.
Finished Goods: Christians in Heaven.

As soon as we are saved, we become a part of God's Inventory Account under the Assets section of His Balance Sheet, aka Statement of Financial Position. Notice how our works are only considered after we are saved. It is only through faith alone in Jesus Christ we are saved, not from works.

Ezra 1:9 This was the inventory: gold dishes 30 silver dishes 1,000 silver pans 29

Formula wise, the full Product Cost Flow is as such:

Beginning Raw Materials Inventory + Raw Materials Purchased = Raw Materials Available in Production.

Raw Materials Available - Ending Raw Materials Inventory = Raw Materials Used in Production.

Raw Materials Used in Production = Direct Materials.

Direct Materials + Direct Labour + Manufacturing Overhead = Total Manufacturing.

Beginning Work in Process Inventory + Total Manufacturing = Total Work in Process for the Period.

Total Work-in-Process for the Period - Ending Work-in-Process Inventory = Goods Manufactured.

Beginning Finished Goods Inventory + Goods Manufactured = Goods Available for Sale

Goods Available for Sale - Ending Finished Goods Inventory = Goods Sold.

While the Inventory is a Raw Material, Work-in-Process or Finished Good, it is stated on the Balance Sheet. But once it becomes a Good Sold, it moves to the Income Statment, aka Statement of Operations, aka Statement of Profit and Loss aka Statement of Financial Performance aka this statement has a lot of names because it's the most important one of the main 4 to investors.

Ecclesiastes 5:10
Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.

As a sample, here's what it looks like mathematically with numbers. Company is a Sole Proprietorship, so the dollar values used are small compared to big corporations. The currency used is CAD, since I'm from Canada.

I will not be using commas in the numbers as it's used as a decimal point in French, just to avoid confusion.

R: Raw Materials
W: Work-In-Process
F: Finished Goods

DM: Direct Materials
DL: Direct Labour
MO: Manufacturing Overhead

$ 100 r start + $ 200 r bought = $ 300 raw available

$ 300 r - $ 100 r end = $ 200 raw used.

$ 200 = $ 200 DM

$ 200 DM + $ 150 DL + $ 50 MO = $ 400 T Manu

$ 300 w start + $ 400 T Manu = $ 700 T wip

$ 700 T wip - $ 70 = $ 630 goods manu.

Beginning Finished Goods Inventory + Goods Manufactured = Goods Available for Sale
$ 800 f + $ 630 = $ 1 430 goods for sale

Goods Available for Sale - Ending Finished Goods Inventory = Goods Sold.
$ 1 430 - $ 1 430 = 0

So in that example, since Goods Available for Sale = Ending Finished Goods Inventory, then no goods were sold. If this were a company, it will be up to the marketing department to send over the data on how many products are still sitting on store shelves.

Psalm 100:5 For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues to all generations.

Faith alone in Jesus Christ gives us a platform to stand on, since our sins are washed away by Christ's holy blood from the cross. Once we trust in Him, we are immediately put into a position of being saved by Him that is impossible to get out of.

I mention Work In Process because being saved is just the beginning of our journey with God. When we are saved, all of our sins are covered, we have the once-saved-always-saved (OSAS) guarantee. But, as we exist physically, we are still in a world full of sin. Someone might be a saved Christian, but still struggle with the sin of this world. But in Heaven, we will all receive glorified bodies. Because everyone will come to believe in Jesus Christ through faith alone.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

The Father, our creator, created the trees in the forest for which to be harvested in good.

The Son, our carpenter, will save us after we believe in Him through faith alone and start building us into the product He desires.

The Holy Spirit, the supervisor, watches over all the inventory in the product line and guarantees they will be used for something.

Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mandatory disclaimer: Faith alone in Jesus Christ saves, not baptism.

Managerial Accountants are often left with the decision to carry out a value chain activity internally or choose to buy externally. This is called the "Make or Buy Decision". But The Lord always makes products in His organization internally. It is the narrow way. All the pointless ways humans fail to do good works is the broad way. All of humanity will go through the narrow way. All will be saved by faith alone in Christ Jesus, amen.

Luke 12:42
The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?

Humans have constraints. God does not. He will save everyone in the world. All people on Earth will become believers in Jesus Christ through faith alone in Him as their Lord and Saviour.

Gen. 12:3 "All peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

For us humans, we have constraints. We can only jump so high and run so far. In business, the creation of products may be limited by the amount of raw materials, direct materials, in the world, which we're currently seeing in our global economy, or by how many workers are available, direct labour, as impacted by a pandemic.

Psalm 145:17 "The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.

One mathematical method to combat a constrainted resource is called the Theory of Constraints (ToC). As follows, the company must choose the product mix that maximizes it's total contribution margin

TCM = Total Sales - Total Variable Expenses
TCM = (Selling Price * Units Sold) - (Variable Cost Per Unit Sold * Units Sold)

200 = 1 000 - 800
200 = ($10 * 100) - (8 * 100)

Ratio Wise: T Sales = VC + CM
T Sales = 100%
VC = 80%
CM = 20%
100% = 80% + 20%

So, even though we gained $1 000, because of the variable expenses we used to cover our Cost of Goods Sold, we only really had a profit of $200 here.

But for the Lord of Hosts, He has no limit. Every dollar of the $1 000 gained from sales will be saved. 100% of total sales will be saved. 100% of humanity will be saved. 100% of all humans will become believers in Christ.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,

However, maybe only 20% of people are saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ. The narrow way. Maybe, the other 80% die without having trusted in Jesus Christ through faith alone. This could be for a number of reasons. Maybe, they were atheists, didn't believe in God at all. Or a non-Christian religion like Islam or Judaism. Or maybe, they actually went to a Christian church, but they falsely tried to be saved by their good works like baptism or acts of charity without believing in Jesus. What happens to these people when they've already died?

The Lord has no constraints, zero limitations. He is our creator. Our wood companies are limited by the number of trees in the forest to harvest. Yet, to God, He created all the forests in the world. He would not be limited in a human way to go out in the market and buy wood, He can just create it.

That $200 sounds good right? But, let's say we have Fixed Costs, of $200.

Operating Profit = Total Contribution Margin - Total Fixed Expenses
Operating Profit = $200 - $200 = 0

Oops, looks like all our money is gone. Look, even though some people might die without believing in Christ, the truth is that, without Jesus, nobody would be saved. He is our only way to be saved.

God is the creator of all life. Jesus Christ conquered death. He will go to the dead and convince them to believe in Christ, even though they have already died.

Ephesians 1:10 As a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

To combat these multiple constraints, us humans use a quantitative method of math called Linear Programming from Operations Management. This shows us the mix of products that most maximize profit. These business limits could be come in the form of the square meters of rented floor space in a factory or how many dollars we should assign to our advertising budget for product promotion.

John 1:29 NIV “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

Some people like to think of so many random things that could limit God from saving everyone. But God is God. He can do anything He wants. Doesn't matter what fancy name we give the cost, or whatever complex math we use, any obstacle we try to put down will not stop God's plan from coming to fruition.

What is God's plan? To unite all things from the Earth and Heavens. To save everyone. And it will be fulfilled.

ISAIAH 1:25 I will thoroughly purge away your dross and remove all your impurities. (NIV)

Our biggest constraint is sin. And Jesus Christ has already defeated sin Himself. Thus, the solution to every problem is already there right in front of us. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Everyone will believe in Him, everyone will be saved.

Jesus did not get either of these memos #1 and #2.
Jesus did NOT say everyone will be saved. Jesus said "Not every one ... shall enter into the kingdom of heaven." Then Jesus said "many, not a few, will say to Him in that day," Judgement Day. "Lord, Lord, have we not... in thy name done many wonderful works?" But Jesus will say to those many, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Note, this happens on Judgement Day no more chances for salvation.

Everyone will go to Heaven through faith alone in Jesus Christ. Here is a mathematical allegory I will use to describe this.

In certain manufacturing industries, some end products are all produced from a single raw material input. For us humans, we all come from the dust of the ground. However, we have all been tainted with sin.

So, in essence, we are all joint products.

That dust can be classified as a Joint Input. Later, it goes through a Common Production Process, the taint of sin. This is a Joint Cost.

Then comes the Split-Off Point. Where we become different products. Some people are more social than others, or more logical than emotional, maybe more optimistic. Each person has their own personality type.

In an industrial setting, a joint input like crude oil can undergo a refinement process to transform it into gasoline, for a final sale, with the byproducts of oil and chemicals, which can undergo their own seperate processing to be fit for final sale.

Mathematically, one can decide whether it's economically viable to sell a product as is or process it further.

Per Litre
Oil Chemical
Sales Value at Split-Off Point 100 50
Sales Value after Further Processing 200 60
Allocated Joint Product Costs 150 25
Cost of Further Processing 50 5

That "Allocated Joint Product Cost" is included in these sort of statements, but as a reminder, they are not a relevant cost for internal decision making.

Us living through life is like a blacksmith refining metal in the heat of a furnace. It's similar to the refinement process of oil, as to remove any impurities.

ISAIAH 48:10 See, I have refined you ... I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. (NIV)

Refined material is more valuable than unrefined material. A substance with a 99% purity will be able to sell for more than that same substance with 95% purity. Yet, by believing in Jesus Christ, we will recieve glorified bodies in Heaven, and we will reach a state of 100% purity, free from all sins, as the blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross acts as the cover for all of our sins.

MALACHI 3:2-3 Who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire or a laundress's soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver, he will purify the Levies and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness. (NIV)

So in the real world, while there may be certain costs that exist that make us lose profit by further processing a good, for God, no such costs exist.

Incremental Revenue = Sales Value after Further Processing - Sales Value at the Split Off Point
Incr Rev for Oil = 200 - 100 = 100.
Incr Rev for Chem = 60 - 50 = 10.

Profit (loss) from Further Processing = Incremental Revenue - Cost of Further Processing
Prof Fur Proc Oil = 100 - 50 = 50.
Prof Fur Proc Chem = 10 - 5 = 5

It will always be the Lord's desire to transform someone into a believer of Christ. There is no limit for Him, no cost that can stop Him. For a business, it may be a loss for them to try refining a product over and over again, but to the Lord, there's no constraint. If someone doesn't believe in Jesus Christ, He will try over and over again to convince them, for as long as it takes, even after the human has died, the Lord of Hosts will save everyone through faith alone in Jesus Christ. The entire world will be saved.

Isaiah 25:6-8 " On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; And he shall destroy on this mountain the surface of the covering cast over ALL nations. he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.

It doesn't matter how many months or years of persuasion it takes, eventually, The Lord will convince every single person on Earth to believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour, thus having all their sins covered.

1 Corinthians 15:22-28 All will be made alive in Christ, but each in his own turn and ultimately Christ will subdue all His enemies, eliminate death and God will be all in all.

Disclaimer: This is just a mathematical example, so the numbers are more of a way of demonstrating numerically the process. But the numbers can be anything, as long as they follow these steps.
