"Arguing"... or "critically analysing" what other people say... or even "asking for evidence" is a valid way of getting to truth. Not infallible, not foolproof, but still valid.

Look at the alternatives. There are two.

"Listening"... and then just accepting everying you heard.
"Listening"... and then simply denying or ignoring everything you heard.

You do both. You "just accept" everything - EVERYTHING! - that aligns with your views, and you deny and ignore everything that goes against them.

That's the problem. It's you. It's the fundamental inconsistency of your behaviour.

You tell people to listen. You never listen.
You tell people to research. You never research.
You tell people to value truth. You never show respect for truth.

In that regard, you are the poster child for this "effect". Your whole position is based on "I am not wrong. I cannot be wrong. Everyone else is wrong. THE WHOLE UNIVERSE IS WRONG, because it disagrees with me."

This isn't ad hominem. Ad hominem would be if I called your argument wrong, because of the way you presented it.

That's not it. I'm directly talking about the way you present yourself. And that's a valid criticism.

Well... there's one guy here on this thread who is always telling others that they cannot understand and do not listen and will not "research". That would be an "ad hominem" also then.

But in this case, it is directed at your "position". The position of never listening, never learning, never responding in a relevant way, never even considering valid criticism,always resorting to empty one-liners and fiction as "evidence"...

It is this position of yours that is the identified problem right now... not in the least because you refuse to bring any other "argument" other than your unbased claims.

Engage in a meaningful discussion without evading... and we won't have to have to talk about you always evading a meaningful discussion. Easy peasy.

But "everyone" isn't saying "this" is happening. Some people... at the whole, a tiny minority, are saying... many things.

A lot of people are saying that the earth is flat... must be flat... that there is a vast global conspiracy to hide this truth. Maybe you should listen to them.
Another lot of people say that the earth is a sphere... a hollow sphere and we are living on the inside of it. Maybe you should listen to them as well, even if they contradict the first group.

But you don't listen. You don't listen to people who don't tell you what you want to hear. You don't listen to people who tell you things you don't want to hear.

So... what do you want to hear? "This is happening". Ok, so it is happening. And then? You have already denied that any of your views have consequences. You don't care about evidence for or against your claims.

What is left? Even in the best case, you can get a "cool story, bro"... while the person you have just been talking to slowly backs out, making a note to themselves never to do business with you.
