  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Bugs anyone?

I found this: Hydrogen peroxide
For the name you used.

Scientists use the term “snow crystal” more than snowflake. According to Libbrecht's website, snowcrystals.com: “A snow crystal, as the name implies, is a single crystal of ice.

But it’s another derail. My apologies to the OP.

Well yes. Recent dives have confirmed that the sinking of the Titanic was caused by an uncontrolled release of dihydrogen monoxide in the hull. Kills hundreds of people every year.

I thought it was because they died in a sinking cruise ship in freezing waters among other things. What do I know? ;) Never heard of that one.

You then pivoted to "Well, maybe not schools, but some people want it, anyway."
That is not correct. I said it is being taught in schools, but it is also being pushed elsewhere, like in children's entertainment. It seems ridiculous to ask for evidence that it is being taught in schools, when we all know it is. Haven't you seen the drag queen field trip videos? However, since there was a complaint about derailing the bug thread, I will drop it, at least here.

But when asked to provide some evidence for this... nothing. Nothing at all. For reasons we can guess at.

It seems ridiculous to ask for evidence that it is being taught in schools, when we all know it is.

But you can't show that it is? How odd.

Haven't you seen the drag queen field trip videos?

Ah, videos... but somehow, no one can actually show that it's in the curriculum... again, not hard to tell why that is.

However, since there was a complaint about derailing the bug thread, I will drop it, at least here.

Good idea.

I'm guessing no one is going to force you to buy it and eat it at gunpoint.
Yes I do believe people will be forced to eat bugs! listen to the words out of the governments own mouth! They have made "The decision to introduce insects into the mainstream food supply"
Oh, we won't see labels like frozen meatballs infused with insect protein but somewhere in the small print of ingredients, where hardly anyone can read it, listed under some inconspicuous name with all the rest of the garbage they put into meatballs!

Are you perhaps worried that people will eventually find insects to be an acceptable food?
Maybe you'll like eating bugs but who the heck else in their right mind would choose to eat bugs over a nice juicy steak?

So you suspect that they'll put the fact in small print on food containers, but you'll be forced to eat them because...
  • You can't read?
  • There will be a law making you eat buggy frozen meatballs?
  • You'll get careless and eat some and find you like them?
  • You don't know how to prepare anything but processed foods?
  • Or something else?

If I couldn't read i wouldn't be answering your reply!
There will be a law making you eat buggy frozen meatballs?
No, they'll just, as the Canadian government has said, introduce it into the food supply!
You'll get careless and eat some and find you like them?
If it's hidden in something like ground beef, seasoning and other yummy ingredients, perhaps you're right? I'm waiting to here from you when you eat your first McCricket burger!
don't know how to prepare anything but processed foods?
When did I say I only eat processed foods? In fact I don't because I cook my own meals from scratch, bug protein not included!!!

Then that's not it...

No, they'll just, as the Canadian government has said, introduce it into the food supply!

And you think that will force you to eat it, because...?

If it's hidden in something like ground beef, seasoning and other yummy ingredients, perhaps you're right?

So, you think that the laws about revealing ingredients won't apply to insects? How so?

I'm waiting to here from you when you eat your first McCricket burger!

You're a youngster or you forgot the last time the loony right came up with a story like this. Then it was Big Macs with worms. And then they get offended when people laugh at them.

When did I say I only eat processed foods? In fact I don't because I cook my own meals from scratch, bug protein not included!!!

So how do you think they're going to force you to eat crickets, then?

Then that's not it...
I'm surprised it wasn't self evident to you!

And you think that will force you to eat it, because...?
I already answered that! They won't force me but the Canadian governments has made "The decision to introduce insects into the mainstream food supply"

So, you think that the laws about revealing ingredients won't apply to insects? How so?
Don't know what the laws are in Canada.

You're a youngster or you forgot the last time the loony right came up with a story like this. Then it was Big Macs with worms. And then they get offended when people laugh at them.
Oh my goodness! Relax, I was just making light of eating bugs!

So how do you think they're going to force you to eat crickets, then?
They can't! Again that should be self evident since I don't eat processed foods!

They won't force me

So you feel oppressed because other people might like them? You are conservative, aren't you?

I was just making light of eating bugs!

Well, it worked out pretty well, after all, didn't it?
