Fun fact, over 77% of my states energy is from Hydroelectric, and about another 15% is from renewables. I know for a fact that I am on the direct power grid the largest dam in the state is powering.
If it happens in one or two generations, then there is not enough time. It will rather cause mass migration, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis... life will be very unpleasant and costly, both for people and animals.
Not delaying it makes it to be inevitable. Nothing is inevitable per se.

So we will go without AC and change to electric vehicles and depend on solar and wind while China builds more coal plants. They will offset any difference we think we're making and they will get richer
There is no long-term economical point in trying to compete with other countries in who uses more of old fashioned and polluting technology and to destroy ourselves during that.
From what I looked up, the issue is where the power comes from, not the fact the AC is moving heat from one place to another. Which is why I looked at where my electricity came from.
