There is no defined teaching on any of it in the Orthodox Church. Some people believe one thing, some people believe another. It has no bearing on our salvation or God's relationship with mankind.

This isn't an either or situation. I don't believe in Evolution, I am an old earth Creationist who follows Hugh Ross thought on the topic and is just fine with the fossil record and other scientific discoveries.

They are "fundamentals" because, lest they occur, salvation cannot come about.

I'm not a fundamentalist, but I don't believe in it because the Bible says death came in the world through the fall of man. Before that, man was created to never die. Evolution means dying was necessary and happening on the earth already before man became evolved to be man. That contradicts the Bible and the fall of man which is what lead Jesus to come and die for our sins. I personally believe in the gap theory. Something happened on the earth unrelated to mankind. That civilization died and then God restored the earth and created man and started our journey.
It's like how in the future once Jesus returns and the devil is locked in hell and we all go to heaven to dwell forever, God may decide to create a whole other group of beings on this earth unrelated to us. They won't evolve from us, just like we didn't evolve from whatever was here before God made man.

fossil record, and deny that evolution is real.

The fact mans dating process is so flawed. What do you mean by "evolution"? As in the age of things? That rock pig skull my dad just loved to take and show the SDA to get them going. Man says was 6 million years old. Yet could still be only a few thousand years old. Not just me saying that. Lol heres one "Early human fossils are a million years older than expected". Sure ok haha

To be fair ‘want’ is not the word to use in this context. When you have no reason to believe in a deity like God or Enki or Horus or any of the ‘big gods’ that people have worshipped over the millennia ‘want’ does not come into it.

Its generally ok to express opinions or attitudes,
though ones disparaging person's of ideas you
know nothing about, not so much. We noted your
"or worse". You should too.



IF evolution is " wrong" it will take more than your
attitude to show that.
Attitude in this case being that you know more
than tens of millions of your fellow Christians,
and more than any scientist on earth.
We've noted that humility is a Christian virtue
that is little exercised by creationists.

There is no problem whatever in inuding God in evolution.
There is a problem inventing facts.
Your post contains several made up facts. Attitude does not equate
to fact.
Truthfulness is another Christian virtue.

There is zero evidence that anything supernatural is
involved in crystal formation, math, rain, chemistry,
or life processes. Inserting supernatural agency in .
these is senseless. Show us evidence, then talk.

A God may very well have started the universe, made all physical
laws, and so forth. Nobody can make sensible argument for
or against that.
Saying He puts each molecule in place as a crystal grows or
supervises each genetic change in living things is speaking
authoritatively of things for which zero evidence exists.

We realize you want to believe as you do.
I might want to believe I've a chance to grow over five ft .
tall but that's not going to make it so.

What you want to believe plus no facts does not show
evolution is "wrong".
