  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The majority opinion is not surprising

Due to belief in evolution

Do you not believe in evolution?

Believe? No. I don't have any need for belief in it.

I provisionally accept evolution as the best explanation of the facts of biology we have access to. There is concordance between multiple, overlapping lines of evidence which supports evolution. It is parsimonious, testable, and has both explanatory and predictive power - something you can't say about any of the competing explanations.

For human origin…

Can we not be from another planet?

Mars or Venus

It's a possibility, but there's no evidence of such nor any substantial reason to believe any claim that we originated there. Possibility needs to be demonstrated and supported.

On the other hand, there IS substantial evidence of a terrestrial origin of humans, via a long chain of intermediate hominid species and mammalian ancestors dating further back.

Even if it is … that doesn't mean it's wrong and a more complex and imaginative explanation is correct.

Humans are immortal souls, not mere decades old

So… a human is subtly terrifying

Joe McMoneagle - Remote Viewing of Mars

Apophenia and pareidolia. Along with unsubstantiated supposition.

The "pyramids" and "building" are nothing of the sort (neither is the face), the Mars Global Surveyor imaging from 2001 demonstrated that.

They are located precisely on the old equator of Mars

Life could be on mars, although given the present conditions (temperature swings, vestigial atmosphere and magnetosphere, chlorine levels in the soil) it would in all likelihood be limited to variants of microbial extremophiles or subsurface lithotrophs.

However, nothing you've presented supports the idea of complex life existing on the planet, either in the present or in the past.

Nothing there either. Like I said before, that was just a case of pareidolia which has since be conclusively shown to be wrong by higher resolution imagery.

The "face" isn't a face, its a weathered massif. The "pyramids" aren't pyramids, they're natural rock formations.

What you're presenting are CLIAMS, not evidence.

Things are real

That’s my claim

But, the things you're presenting me with aren't making claims that reflect reality.

So far, you've forwarded:

A claim dinosaurs are less than 40,000 years old - by using the wrong dating methods and misrepresenting the actual important discoveries
A photoshop of a Civil War era pterosaur
Some assertions Michael Cremo has evidence of why humans and dinosaur bones are never located in the same layers - but never showing it
Cremo's 'Vedic Alternative to Darwin' video - which completely fails to actually provide an alternative
A claim humans once lived to 60,000 years
Some random quotes claiming we've forgotten our past
An observation that Darwin was unaware of things Cremo knows about
A claim there are temples in India dedicated to events that occurred millions of years ago
Some vague speculation that humans come from Venus or Mars
Unsubstantiated claims about remote viewing, boys from Mars and people remembering past lives
