I wish I had a picture of the moment the oil of chrism was placed on my forehead. It has been a very intense and very beautiful week for me, to be culminated as we celebrate Christ's glorious Resurrection tonight.

Yes, Fr. Matt, all in God's time and because it is all in God's time, it is both good and I believe I am where I should be in order to share the gifts God has given me with this congregation.

Thanks to all who held me up in prayer while I was looking to enter the Church.

The midnight Pascha Service!!!!

WOW!!! I thought I had seen very energetic and joyous celebrations, but this one we had last night was just off the charts. Then there was a great feast afterward, with many people congratulating me on my conversion to the true Church.

And now . . . as I have told people . . . it is all over . . . and now IT BEGINS!

I'm curious about the reading sitting there at that little lectern. That seems odd? You don't read standing up facing the altar? I'm confused what is going on there?

It is the reading of the Acts of the Apostles on Saturday night prior to the Paschal Liturgy.

Im saying it looks odd, like some kind of desk area seated for reading!?! Never heard of such an animal. I’ve always seen reading done standing only and not far from the altar/ambo area. Was that you reading? At our parish, you have to be chrismated first to read the epistle?

I don't think he was reading out loud. My understanding is it was preparatory reading for the big event.

that’s how some kliroses are set up. that’s a similar set up to how the monks read at St Tikhon’s (not the Epistle, Gospel, or Prophetologion. those are read from the middle of the Church).
