Well they are right vs left politics. And you are left on all these topics. And more.
No, these aren't left vs right topics.
Hate for gays is a Chirstian thing, possibly also a Muslim thing.
I'm an atheist, I don't concern myself with what consenting adults get upto in the bedroom. I'm for small govt, not a nanny state.
And again with abortion, that's a Christian thing. I consider adults to be able to make their own life choices. Again I am for small govt, not a nanny state. This has nothing to do with Capitalism vs Social saftey nets.
I'm all for immigration policies, but I am not afraid of people that don't look like me, I'm not afraid of cultural change. This has nothing to do with left vs right politics.
And lastly about Covid measures, like wearing masks, and getting vaccinated. This has nothing to do with Capitalism vs Social saftey nets. It's about acceptance of a world wide threat and taking action to protect ourselves and our community. People on the right or left are equally capable of taking action to protect society.
You mean like democrats who won't vote for any republican judges? And their goal IS to have leftist judges on the court.
I don't think the Democrats have been as razor sharp focused as the Republicans have been with regards to judge confirmations. Under Mitch McConnell, Republicans have been blocking everything from the Dems and rush confirming everything in the Trump admin phase.
USA used to have this 60% thing which meant that nominations had to be agreeable by both sides, but then Republicans started blocking everything, so the 60% couldn't work. Now you have just a simple majority, I see Dems trying hard to pick judges that are middle of the road (albiet slightly left) and Reps picking far right young (and in many circumstances, highly unqualified).
Just like the republicans want constitutional conservative judges. When the Democrats were after Barrett and didn't want her were all your posts about how elections have consequences and how the Democrats should just understand?
As I said, I'm pretty sure they were annoyed with the Hypocracy of these Republicans refusing to allow a vote for Garland a year out from the election, but rushing through the confirmation of Barrett weeks out from the election.
You think they would have supported her if they didn't happen?
I think if the election wasn't a few short weeks away, and if the process wasn't rushed, then yes they should have supported her.
