Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So how is that BLM thing going?

No...you don't see. Just like you didn't see when I said

The actions of the officer was not justified, but it sure was preventable had George made better decisions.

Right...you say that but you're talking out of both sides of your mouth. If what the cop did to Floyd was wrong - and it was - then it doesn't matter what Floyd did or didn't do; he didn't deserve to be knelt on.

What we should really do is ignore the far right and far left on these matters and concentrate on the actual problem. Which I think we all agree exists in some form or another. Scoring political points is not just ignoring the problem - it's exacerbating it.
One of the problems, ironically, is that the is no agreement on what the problem actually is.

That's my point. Money seems not to be an issue (although money is needed to solve quite a few problems).
The worst thing for black Americans is woke white liberals. They are like the white woman in The Color Purple who thought she was helping. In reality she got the black woman hit in the head disabled and didn't let her see her children. Woke people help just like her . Credit to Cyrus

The problem is entirely cultural. A predominantly fatherless culture that is unwilling to accept any responsibility for their poor decisions and are deceived to think that they are incapable of success without support from others.

I think we need to be careful about broad brush explanations. Check this chart and tell me what you think as regards to what you just said:

I am not talking on both sides of my mouth. What I am saying is that the cop was wrong and George Floyd didn't deserve to be killed, but his poor life decisions brought put him and the cop in that situation. It is not like St. George Floyd was serving food at a homeless shelter when, all of a sudden, a murderous cop tackled him out of nowhere for no reason purely to choke him to death. If you cannot understand that, you are part of the problem.

I can't understand it; not because I'm "part of the problem" but because it's victim-blaming nonsense.

Then challenge them on it. Enter into a dialogue. Put forward your views. Make an argument. Be constructive. All I've seen you do so far is try to win political points. That's not to going to get anyone anywhere.
Didn't know someone was following me. I feel special

3/10 single parents are black. Remind me again what the total percentage of Americans are black? Oh yes...14%
Facts About the U.S. Black Population

So although only consisting of 14% of the U.S. population, they are responsible for over 1/3 of single parenthood. Great to hear. Now how many of those single parents are the father?

Some people don't want to hear that as it suggests taking responsibility for ones actions. For instance a looter can no longer blame an event such as Floyd for his/her personal crime of looting.

Anyone who is promoting a victim mentality within the black community is a part of the problem.

I was in law enforcement for 16 years. We all despise that idiot with his knee on Floyd's neck and whoever taught him that. I was never trained to kneel on a person who was down other than on their leg. Much less when they are handcuffed. Floyd was an idiot but there is no way to justify what happened to him.

Again I say for a third time. The actions are not justifiable but were completely avoidable

I am promoting a victim mentality by suggesting black Americans are not victims to imaginary villainy? Nice.

I don't think you know what you're promoting. It sure doesn't make much sense on my end...

That's 14% to 28%. Which is obviously double the rate for white families. Which is obviously a problem. So what do you think is a solution to that? Education? Employment? Housing? A combo of all three?
